I'm in McKinney, TX for a week keeping the grandsons while dau and hubby are in NYC. When we were down here Christmas she complained that she never sees a bird in her yard. I bought a tube feeder and some suet and hung in a tree. When we got down here she said she has never seen a bird on it. I replied that half the food was gone, so something has been feeding there.

Saw a lone dove on the feeder a short while later. While grilling some steaks late yesterday afternoon, two goldfinches came in. I put up a thistle feeder this morning and sprinkled some feed around on the ground under it. I always say, 'Build it and they will come.'
