Dear Sistah Judy, thank you for the update on BJ. Those were good memories in Dallas weren't they? I do hope she can managed to sneak away to Cookie's. We miss her!

Well, since it's looking strongly like DD has flunked a course and will not graduate on schedule, I may can come. we'll have to confirm she can't graduate. If there's anyway she can, on time, then I'll be here shoving her through the process as hard as I can.

Just dropping by to say "HI" wicked rain and wind storms keep loosing power so this is quick.

Now ladies, be nice about Chuck.........................we talk everyday. I know where he works, as it is only a few miles from here. He is a relieft ttuck driver and has been working about 15 hours a day. My son-in-law knows the company he works for and his boss. So I don't think he is a flake or anything like that. He says that if he doesn't get called to work again this weekend we will meet. So as soon as it happens I will let you all know. Oh crud gotta go, here comes more thunder and lightening. Be back we all is calm.

Rain, rain, go away come back another day. It really poured here a while ago. I haven't seen lightening or heard any thunder yet. DH said the radar showed another storm coming and this one is really going to be bad. Cindy must be getting it worse than we are. Really have had my fill of it. I do sleep good when it rains though.

The young gal who cuts my hair and gives me a perm just e-mailed me that she will be going to Maui for a week as the company she works for is opening a new grocery store. She said she needs prayers for safe flying. Wish she could put me in her suitcase. I was in Hawaii before it became a state, that was 1958, but never to Maui. She travels all over and really likes her job.

Well, rain has slowed down for a while so time to take my trash out before another downpour. Our street looks like a river now.

LOL Jaye, I'm cowering right now, the south-western part of the state is in a tornado watch and it was on the news just a bit ago that northern Shreveport was hit by a possible tornado just a few minutes ago. Prayers going to everyone in danger, of course it's headed right up this way, maybe it will fizzle and move east of us.

Maui is wonderful, and expensive. I wanna go back too!

Well, here's some normal stuff going on and driving me crazy. I just got my mom off the phone and she told me that she's in just as much pain, if not more, than she was to begin with. She was released today and stuck in a hotel room for the night and she's just complaining about everything. Ug. I think it's the Interstitial Stetitus but she swears she never had it. That's why she had all the symptoms, was diagnosed with it, and in an Interstitial Stetitus group for 18+ years. Ug. If what she is saying is true, you never know when she gets all down like this, which is common as she is a negative person to start with, I'm wondering if the left side decided to flare up and she cut the wrong side. Lord I hope not because that dr said he would only do one side, one operation and that is it. Yikes!

I am starting to feel better.....Don't know how much I will be on for awhile, my internet is acting up and I may have to get a new air card....sometimes I can connect on a neighbors wifi, but that is a weak connection and not reliable....so looks like a trip to sprint on payday:(

I havent had a chance to read yet but will try to catch up on what I missed tomorrow.. It sounds like there has been alot going on..

Max is feeling a bit better but is on antibiotics for his sinus infection. He missed one night of work and was late once but they know he has been down and out.. Hes relaxing now before heading in tonight after we finally gt company out. His brother and his 3 boys needed haircuts so I offered to do them for the family so my MIL didnt attack the boys again.. She means well but it never turns out right..

Yeppers Jaye you heard right Tristen will be turning the big 8 on Feburary 4th.. Seems like just yesterday she was my litte baby.. Her firend from school is having a party next friday and they are doing makeovers and mani pedis.. She is thrilled and really wants to go so we have to call her friends mommy and figure out the details. As for her she wants a party but I dont know what the weather is going to do so I have to figure out a heap way to make it special for her.

Please keep the prayers up for my mom. He insurance is messing around and elling her it a new year and she has a deductable but her policy runs june to june so shes digging for surgery money.. They just told her yesterday and hey want the money tomorrow.. ugghhh she says shes gonna do it even if she has to sell her jewelry but she may have to put off her trip to see us in June.. I told her no worries we would still be here and it was important to get her leg fixed first and foremost..

Uncle jacks chemo i sgoing well and soon he will be getting set up for surgery.. they are saying he has a good chance at remission but we are still all holding our breath. Hes really taking it all well and even jokes about his chemo bag that he totes with him all week..

As for me Im just plain tired.. I have been trying to keep up with everything and getting my winter sowing done. The house is in shambles, the yard is a muddy mess (which always tracks inside), Tony is worrying about soccer sign ups due in a week... Never enough time to get anything done really.. lol

Well I better run I gotta get a few things done before I hit the bed tonight..

Oh Barb my mom is always having issues with her insurance not wanting to cover this for this reason or that for that reason, all of these surgeries have cost her a lot of money. Best wishes for her and you're right, fixing her leg is first.

Well the front edge of the rainy weather has started to come in with a light rain but is to get heavier as the night progresses. I don't think this front is going to be as bad for us here but I understand there is another one on the heels of this one!!! I am not a happy camper as I want to be outside--not doing much yet but oh to just walk around and enjoy the outdoor air!!

Jaye, you aren't the only one who is remiss about calling people. I guess I get so many calls from vendors that I am really bad not to call other--than my Mom that is. I do talk to her daily! Vendor calls go year round so there isn't much of a break. I won't bet on me not doing this next year as I am beginning to have other interest and the traveling is getting long and tiring.

Bon, I believe the get together at Joyce's is the weekend after Father's Day unless she has changed the date. If she has I need to change my calender quickly. Would be fun to meet you!

I miss BJ and Phyllis!!! I caught BJ on line in FB the other day and chatted a few minutes. Wish they would appear again. Kathy don't you dare do a disappearing act on us again either!!!!!!!

Linda Kay I hope all goes well with your Dad--I know how hard it is to see him suffer with the pain. My Mom was given some meds to ease her legs and feet but had to be taken off as it caused a great deal of swelling. Seems sometimes the cure is worse than the ailment.

Crissy, sorry to hear your Mom is having pain again.

Well I promised myself I would have an earlier night tonight so I am off.................................................. my pillow calls!

Tonight is simply not my night to cook.
Kel wanted some country ribs, and all I did to them was simple seasoning, not my usual spicy flair, pop in the oven for a couple of hours, potato salad on the side..
Ribs were awful to me...but that could be a reflection of how I feel. As long as Kel's eating them then I've done my job in feeding him :(

Truly can't think any further. Will try to catch up tomorrow.

well, I'm all packed up for the trip. Hope I feel up for this tomorrow. I usually do all the driving - not this time.

Did I tell y'all, went to doc today, of course got strong antibiotic for sinus infection, and encouraged to keep up with gentle exercise workouts for now. Randall wants me going with him to McLean VA tomorrow, company holiday party is Friday night. I'm going to have a romantic few nights in a nice hotel on his company. But I feel so off. I'm packing up a book, my sweats and swimsuit (for their pool and fitness spa), a good book, two of his favorite nighties. If I don't feel good, I'm going to sit by the pool and read. If I feel bad, I'm going to sit in bed, order pizza delivered, and work on this afghan. If I feel good, I've got clothes packed to go to the Smithsonian or National Art Museum, or mall walk at Tyson's Corners.

It is 45 and kinda foggy, and light mist again. Not a heavy rain, but sure is keeping everything wet, and the yard is so muddy. Sure wish the grass would grow back in.

I just spoke to the hospital where my sister is, and she's having tightness in her lungs, and the bedside nurse is helping her - meds and such. The unit nurse said this is a tough morning for Alice........ She'll pass on the message that I called.

Susan, hoping all goes well today with your sister. Is this not normal following surgery like hers? My MIL had similar problems when she has her cancer surgery many, many years ago.Seemed like the 2-4 day was always the worst ones for her. Saying prayers.

Jaye, we needs up here, healthy, happy and you wonderful smile gleaming at all of us sistahs.

I'm sure it is, Marion. I'm not worried anymore - she pulled through the operation, and she's a fighter. I just "feel her pain" and wish it away. But, she's had major surgery, and it's to be expected.
She doesn't, and won't, have a phone at her bedside. She needs her rest, and if people are calling her all the time, she'd be out of breath quickly.
I left a msg with the unit nurse that I called, and I know Alice will appreciate that.

Hey Maid M! There will be a package addressed to your Kim.. supposedly tomorrow or the following day.. and it's NOT an error. It's for her, a little surprise.
Stay home dry and just deliberately waste away your time.. do nothing.. rejuvenate your mind and body. Good thing for headaches, Dr. Jaye highly recommend!
But me think the best cure for headaches would actually be a little shopping at your fav. quilt store... if only the weather permits :(

By the way, I am paper piecing for the first time today, so if you hear some strange Asian-Cajun combulated flares--- that's me!

I have looked to make sure I didn't leave one out but haven't found it so far. There should have been a 4" too.--I think. Brain cells water logged at the moment.

This is funny.. but I can be so ____ headed sometimes.
When it comes to regular quilting, with perfect scant 1/4 inch...I'll use the Viking. But somehow, with this paper piecing.. having to change the setting and the needle.. I turn to the Singer :D

There was a 4, 3 and a 2 which I have discovered I use a lot of the time. I am going to search one more time.

WAIT!!!!!! Did I read new quilt shop? Where? Oh my, oh my--on my way!!

And yes!! Imagine, quilting store # 3!!! Great part about it is this store carries some brand names like Timeless Treasure at a great discount, like 30% off, even though they're old stock! Bad part... very limited choices.. :( She's expecting a delivery of Robert Kaufmann, so I'll be reporting soon :D
She's been chastised by her rich friends for opening a store during this recession... but she's actually helping a lot of poor quilters here including me.
And those poor quilters, who outnumbered the wealthy ones, will keep her afloat.

i be right here. good morning from 72 degree sunny alabamy.
i wanted to shampoo the carpets, but can;t get the shampooer in the house. way to heavy. so i went to the store and got a woolite carpet stick. it does good enough until i can get michael to shampoo for me

Now Kathy, you know better than to try and shampoo your carpets, with your back. You need to let it heal

Mornin' all! There sure is a lot of sinus mess goin' around! Wish I knew what causes mine! I have SEVERE drainage down my throat, causing me to cough and clear my throat constantly. The Vicks works on the coughing at night, most of the time, but in the daytime it's pretty bad. I'm taking antibiotics but that just gets rid of the infection, not the drainage. It really tires me out.
Not long till Spring! Maybe things will "dry up" then!

Hey Audrey, glad to see you back with us! Sorry to hear about your sinus, but sounds like most of us have it. We have mountain cedar here, and that makes everyone go crazy. Try the neti pot, they help too!
