I might, I'll look for you Sylvia. You never know what kind of seed I have. I joined a piggy swap last year, it was very entertaining and really nice how many people wanted to share seeds. Some I've come to really love, some I never got to plant. Will have a full list of seeds available to those who want them when I get back next week (after the 14th). DH and I are heading down to O'side.
Found items in the garden. I got to say, those sweet peas look so happy growing up the gate. I should have planted some in October? Darn!
I'll be in touch. I have free internet in O'side.

So. Calif. Spring RU 2010
I'll be there.
I'm still looking for heirloom veggie seeds, so if anyone has any tucked away I'll put them to good use. (the payback is in fresh veggies!!)
Yippee!
I can't wait to meet you!
There are so many of you I've been looking forward to meeting! : - )

Sorry DP, we crossposted. I'll look for veggie seeds. You might also want to see if Critter has started her famous pepper seed swap! It's a lot of spicy fun!

Randy, while at Lowe's in Murrieta I saw they have some heirloom seeds on their racks along with hybrid and organic seeds. Ferry Morse and Burpee brands. I also have some (had not been looking for them) from Armstrong Gardens in Temecula, they have a nice selection. Faster than ordering by mail.
I looked at every farm supply place in Vista, Oceanside, and Fallbrook with no luck at all in finding "heirlooms". Then yesterday I was at Joe's Hardware in Fallbrook and GUESS WHAT!?!?. They had and entire rack of just about everything you could think of in heirlooms. Nothing was over $2.00. I'm set.
That's great DP. You find them in the most unlikely places, and you'd better get 'em then because they won't be there when you get back!

Should have mentioned Joe's - amazing what you can find there. And Jules is right, they don't last forever.
Hmm, maybe I need to find Joe's
Well, when you do, be sure and stop next door at Pedro's and get a fish taco......
I kept meaning to ask which place had the fish tacos! That's convenient! LOL
I love the fish tacos...usually ask for extra 'white sauce'....do NOT get the chicken fajitas anything....yuck. I also like the carne asada quesadillas, though sometimes the beef is a little 'chewy'...lol...I like them anyway. The beans are not good. I always get the same thing so haven't tried enough of the rest of their stuff. Maybe I'll go 'experiment' tomorrow.
That isn't chicken they use in those fajitas...lol
Eeuwww. Dare I ask what, then?
Meow...are you sure Mike???? Meow meow!!
Ya probably don't wanna know...
I'm going to tell 'Pedro' that you said that.......
Kitty Fritters maybe ???
(could be Possum...it IS the "other white meat" ya know...)
I've had the fish tacos from Pedros and Sherry is absolutely right. They're scrumptious. I bought enough seed for my garden and some extra for my son. They also have sterilized chicken manure for about 2/3 the price of Evergreen nursery, and Evergreen is usually inexpensive. I spent about two hours in Joe's and found that, other than groceries, I could get ANYTHING I need there.
Hey Mike. I have a tee-shirt that says "CAT The other white meat!!"
John has noticed lots of things at Joe's are lower priced - even compared to HD. Check their plant section, too. They often have stuff from local growers that you don't see elsewhere. And cute little garden "gee-gaws" (not cheap, but usually good quality). When we moved here it was called Hanks, then Joe's, and DH usually calls it Harry's or Charlie's or..... LOL Oh, and the people are nice, too. :-)
We've often noticed quite a difference in price at Joe's compared to HD....but Jer still likes Hank's better in Temecula. I seem to remember that they're cousins or brothers. The second thing about the tacos at Pedro's...they're CHEAP!
It's my new favorite store. The plumbing fittings I bought in there were lower priced than HD. The pipe was more expensive, but not worth a trip to HD for what little savings I might get from it. Besides, it's a lot safer drive to uptown than down that darned 76.
I absolutely go out of my way to avoid 76...hate that road. After you've gotten your stuff at Joe's and had fish tacos at Pedro's, then you can hit the thrift shop next to Pedro's which often has interesting stuff.
Maybe I'll do that today Sherry. I need a couple of things from Joe's anyway, and I want to get to know Fallbrook a little better.
You'll probably know it better than we do...lol..We've lived here 27-28 years now and there are only about three places we go here in town.
At the risk of an 'out-of-towner' coming to Fallbrook, what street is Joe's, Pedro's and the Thrift store? I have only been to 'town' in Fallbrook a couple times. One time we stopped at a diner, I believe at E Mission & Brandon, that was one of those places where everyone knows each other and the waitresses are on a first name basis with the customers. (Kinda of like Annie's in Lake Elsinore). I've come in the back way from De Luz also one time when I was 'exploring'. Jules explores on foot, and I drive around.
lol....on Main. Joe's is on the corner of Main and Fallbrook streets...that's easy and Pedro's is on Main next to, and north of, Joe's..... and the thrift shop is on Main next to, and north of, Pedro's. Yes, the Fallbrook Cafe has been here forever. The location on Brandon is the second location for it since we've lived here. Haven't been there in years.
If you want to stay on Main Street, try the Wayside - it's cattycorner across the road from Joe's and Pedro's. Sherry is not enamored, I know, but DH and I like it and they know us now.
Re Pedro's - I stopped for a fish taco yesterday and you're right, Sherry, they're good. Just the right amount of cilantro to make them tasty - I usually hate it because it's so overdone. My pottery class ends at 12:30, so I'll have lots of opportunities to stop on my way home!
Good to mention Wayside...true not my favorite place, but many others love it..another 'locals' place....and they're all right there together!
OOOOHHHH how I love fish tacos. Had 2 on Tues nite at Rubio's "Taco Tuesday" lol
I had my first...and last...fish taco here in my area....it was terrible...are they supposed to be watery? Jo
Geez I do not even like fish all that much but I sure feel the need for a fish taco.
No, Jo....there are fish tacos and then there are Fish Tacos! I like a lot of 'white sauce' on mine, perhaps the one you had used a watery 'white sauce'.
Jo, what do you expect? Your state is sending all the beaners back to Mexico. It's OK for me to use that slang, since DH is one (born in US though) and uses that reference about himself and other Mexicans.
Never having a Fish Taco...and very few tacos that were not made by Taco Bell...I didn'tknow WHAT to expect....Jo
Everyone, remember to sign up on the food list to tell us what delicacy you are bringing!
Who's bringing the Fish Tacos!?!?!?
LOL! We could invite Pedro.
