Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Hello Lynnie,

You will be glad to know I am making progress. Slow but progress none the less.
Maybe by Spring I will be done.

Calling it a night
Sleep well my gypsie friends

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Coffee's done! Since I am the first one up, I officially declare this a non-cleaning Monday. No cleaning is allowed today, absolutely no heavy duty cleaning.

The Dudette has spoken.

(Zone 5b)

morning Smiley! Are you working today, anyway? *grin*

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Not yet, but I will be. Not cleaning though. Hope your buddy is doing ok today.

(Zone 5b)

Thanks, I'll check on him later this afternoon. He was better yesterday.

I don't know, JJ is on a roll, I'd hate to stop her lol

Jesup, GA

Good morning Smiley and Lynnie. Smiley will you pour me another cup of coffee! Thanks dear, just what I need! Lynnie are ya going to the gym? Burn some for me girl. Went out to feed the Poo's eariler. Thought I would get frost bite before I got back inside. I dont remember ever seeing it this cold for this long down here. I believe it has set some sort of record. Moon, are ya still snuggled up under those covers this morning? Might as well just wrap up and wear them. Grin

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

This is true, Lynnie. I will modify my declaration:

There will be no new cleaning projects started today.

The dudette has spoken again.

Jesup, GA

Any body there? Flower's wake up! At least roll over! Mooooon! Lynnie,Smiley! Guess Smiley's at work ,and Lynnie is feeling the burn at the gym. Tonight is daughtes first night back in school. So I'll have the grands. Wed. and Thurs. night SIL is off. So I'll be able to catch up with yall a bit. Hope all of you have a wonderful day......and stay warm and safe.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Good Morning my chilly gypsy friends. 4th day of hard freezes for an area that rarely has temps below 32. Was 19 out there this morning. Heater went out in the small greenhouse....fan was working, but heating coil died.....and probably most of the stuff in there. Daytime temps supposed to be in high 50's Wednesday....I will wait til then to see how much is dead. Dratted heater is only a couple years old....

Smiley, no new cleaning today....just gonna try to clean up the massive mess from yesterday's cleaning venture.....may take two days....grin

Dixie...we need an official proclaimation...We do not do cold! Grin

Lynnie, good news on your friend. Good thoughts for a speedy recovery for him.

Good Morning to the rest of you....hope you all have a good day....stay warm

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Morning All,

OK no new projects today but the old one ought to keep me busy...grin...

This is my mothers fault, she taught me to keep everything that had to do with bills and payments. They are all in manila evelopes and put in boxes or totes...funny thing if I would have needed one I never would have found it.

I am trying to train myself to scan them into a file on computer now and then making a disc at the end of year so I can get rid of the paper.

Old habits are hard to break....

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Morning JJ. I agree, bit off more than could be finished in one day....maybe three....grin. A guy at the IRS told me 7 years is the magic number for keeping most receipts etc. I keep a file with monthly folders and every thing , bills, receipts, statements goes in it. At the end of the year, it all goes into an expandable folder. I found a cardboard file box that holds 7 folders. When i put the current one in, I pull the oldest one out and go through it, just in case....grin and run it all through the shredder as I go. Put the shredded paper in the compost pile.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Good system Moon. 7 years is the magic number. I'm so sorry about your greenhouse heater. Stupid machinery!! Hopefully not all is lost.

I don't save monthly receipts or utilitiy-type bills anymore. They say your canceled check is enough. I save whatever the accountants need, and that's it. Shred the rest. Everyone has their own system.

Dixie, wherever you are, I forgot to say I love your hat.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I don't write very few checks anymore. When my bills come I check them over then my bank has a payments place online and I fill out the amount and date I want it paid. Get confirmation number. ( free of charge and no monthly bank fees).

Takes some getting use to but is easy and free.

You know Moon if all the kids would take their junk I would have more room.
Oh mom don't get rid of the hockey stuff, not my skates, do you have my tax papers...
One of these days...in the trash they will go..just not today...grin

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Hey Gypsies, its me Flowers lol. Sorry I missed coffee but Enternet Explorer wouldn't let me log on, finally went to start menu to get on this site. Smiley hope DS had a happy birthday, and I'm with you, no cleaning today. Sprayed oven last night and still haven't wiped it out. JJ got that upstairs sparkling yet? Moon bet you sure are happy with nice warm waterbed right now, I loved mine when we had it. Hope plants survived the cold, no worries we will send ya more to worry over next year.Lynnie couldn't find what was wrong with your friend but hope he gets better. Dixie will miss ya girl, log in when ya can. We have to have our play time :-)) Joy sounds like your weather is about like here right now, bundle up and keep that walking up girl. Venice where are You??? Got a pretty at GW today!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Thanks, Smiley. One of those "spilt milk" things with the greenhouse. Anything that survived is a "gift"....grin Most of my monthly file is a couple sheets of cpu paper with the receipt info printed...confirmation numbers, date and amount paid. Most bills paid on-line. I keep medical/prescription receipts, tax receipts, bank statements, home/auto/life insurance and Credit card info. The folders all fit, 7 years worth in a single cardboard file box. The other thing i keep is subscription info/ plant orders with replacement guarantees and stuff like that, in a separate folder. I once renewed the same magazine a bunch of times....wound up with 6 years worth of issues, so now I keep that stuff so i don't have to remember did I or didn't I?

Yup, JJ. DD is going to have to decide on the fate of some stuff that has been here since she moved to AU. Clothes, mementos, Two big bins of photos and stuff from her school days...all needs to get sorted. i even have a complete wetsuit/scuba gear in the attic....I do not dive....she does....grin

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Hi there!

Flowers, talking about cleaning ovens . . . I sprayed my oven and didn't get around to cleaning it until 4 days later! It was no problem wiping it out with a wet Handi-Wipe a few times. I thought it would all be dried hard but not so. And my oven was really gross. I used the fume free Easy-Off for the first time and love it!

Smiley your son had a nice birthday.

Moon, so sorry about your plants and that stupid heater.

I thought I opened Chicken Noodle for lunch and it was Creamed Chicken. Tummy doesn't feel to well. My cough and sinuses are clearing up but not normal yet.

Lunchtime!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Hi Flowers. Lynnie's friend was injured in a skiing accident. I would not trade my waterbed...don't care what the designers say....grin, feel the same way about ceiling fans. They are necessary in the south, if ya want to keep from going to the poorhouse over cooling bills. weather man says we should see a warming trend by mid-week....daytime temps in the high 50's-low 60's and nightime temps up in mid to high 30's....never thought I would be excited about 35 degree weather....grin

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Hey Venice. Good to see ya. Glad you are feeling a bit better. Yeah, Cr of Chicken soup is only good in other things...can't handle it on its own.

I am trying to be very pragmatic about plants. DH says I have too many tropicals....I say if he had planted all of his baby trees when he got them, i wouldn't have needed to heat two greenhouses....grin

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Hi Moon and Venice, was out trying to get e-mail page up and going. Think cyber bullys have attacked and changed my settings. Waiting on cable man, can't wait to see new HD signal, didn't miss it before but not costing me anymore so why not!

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Catch yall back in a bit, got some things to do before he gets here. Have a good afternoon.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

yoo hoo! anybody home??

guess what? my inventory is *almost* done. gotta check a few discrepancies, then I'm gonna let it rip.

hiya Flowers, how's the HD? nice, I bet.

hi Venice, blech on the cream of chicken soup. any way to add some cooked veggies to that? maybe some canned broth? might make it more palatable.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Hi Smiley, Yeaaa on the fretful inventory being about done, know your glad. HD is great. Downloaded Firefox and seems to be working ok, type is a little lighter and harder to read but glad I can get back on surfing mode. How was your day?

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Moon, meant to tell ya, I got the Dave link open and was a great interview. Nice to hear a voice to put with the site. He seems down home just like the rest of us.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Hi All,
No Flowers upstairs not sparkling but I can find the floor and the bed in the extra room, which was housing all the junk from christmas and outgrown clothes.

Need any 18 month boys clothes? One would think I run a daycare here for all the clothes and toys..geesh

How many sheets does one household need?
I have ice skates and roller blades neither of which my wobbly ankles would work with.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

You must be rich JJ, if you can afford more than two sets of sheets per bed LOL. Ok gonna try this. Are ya ready??? Fuzzy hat to match fuzzy slippers anyone???

Flowers, your living room looks so nice, warm, and cozy! I like your decorations and your beaded cornice. Yes, your solid walls sets everything off. You did a very nice job. That vine does look nice in the fish tank but sorry about your little fish having only one eye now, poor thing.
