Hi flowers,I'm still here,but sorry to say,I'm going to sit and watch TV in a few minutes,already 9.15pm here:}.I admit to prefering children's films to ones aimed at adults.For grown -up stories,I read:}I do like to watch Detective series on TV,though,which;s what I'm off to do now.
Nothing any of you say on here puts me off joining in,that I promise:}
Yes,my big son's very tall,about,6 feet 1 inch,his little Mum's only 5 feet 3!!.not sure hight of Will,but at 14,he's a good deal taller than me:}I've looked in a pair of Will's skateboard shoes,and it says UK7 ,US 7 and a half,so looks like half a size different with you.I wont go into all the weird sizes rest of Europe would like us to adopt here,that'd just be confusing.I've managed to convert our hights from metres and centimetres to feet and inches for you though and that's bad enough ......big grin:}
I bet it's lovely when your little GS giggles,I so love to hear little ones do that,it makes me want to join in.
I'm sure we'll enjoy our walk ,thanks,cold though ,about 25f,earlier.

Whew good to know we are not anoying ya Joy, can get a little long winded so to speak at times :-)) Think I'm gonna find my easy chair and blanket and park it for awhile too. Temps are like 5 degrees here with wind chill going lower. Supposed to have a big warm up to 40 by next week. Hi all, waiting for dinner to finish. My weatherbug has said 15° all day, I think it's broken! At least the sun was out.

Guess what? There's a thread over in the books, movies & TV forum called 'ordered on netflicks 2' and they're talking about gypsy movies & books. Got a chuckle out of it.

Flowers!! download a firefox browser on mozilla.com. It's real easy! I was hesitant to do it also, having never used anything but Internet Explorer, but I sure like it better than IE. All you have to do is click the download now button and follow the prompts. It will even import all your favorites. I've never had a problem getting online since doing it.

Think of it this way: your old manual big wheel (IE) took you to the karaoke bar (the internet). Now you could use your big fancy big wheel that Moon made you (firefox) to get you to the karaoke bar (the internet). Internet Explorer is a browser. A browser connects you to the internet. Firefox is a browser also, you don't have to use IE if you don't want to. It puts a little orange rolled up fox icon on your desktop, just like the blue e. You just click on the fox to get online instead of the e.

I thought because I had a windows computer that I had to use IE, but my son explained it the same way I just did (using different things since I don't have a big wheel) and I got it.

IE hangs up too much. We use Firefox almost exclusively now. And according to Dave, Firefox is a bit more compatible to DG than IE....figure it is his playhouse, Dave oughta know....grin.

Just got in from Basketball game....GS's team won.....their first season they managed to win 1 game....by a forfeit and tied one game. This was the first game of their 4th year together....started with only 4 returning players...picked up 4 new players....and they won....the boys were really tickled...tried to act like no big deal, but they were all grinning from ear to ear.

Flowers, I don't chase Kitty outside. She knocks on the screen door when she wants inside. In no snow weather, 10:30 is her deadline. If she isn't in by then, I stick my head out the door and she is usually waiting for me to open the door or if I call her she comes in about 30 seconds. Many times she is in much earlier. If she wants outside around 9:00, I don't let her out. She has been out today for about half an hour. And she just wanted out again because she tapped on my leg. She has me pretty well trained!

That line was from an old Popeye cartoon, Olive Oyl had Brutus & Popeye vying for her affections and she put them in a play she was doing. Imagine Brutus & Popeye traipsing around the stage (daintily), throwing rosebuds and singing that line. Burned into my memory..

The sun is out here also....up to 23 now from 19 when I checked at 5AM. I am afraid to even look in the greenhouses....my tiny heaters are running their legs off out there. Grin

Good morning JJ. Forgot to say good morning to you too, Moon. Hard to believe we are almost at the same temp! I always had this picture of southerners being able to garden in the warm sunshine all year round.

Boy, was I wrong! What's in the greenhouse?

Today is DS's birthday. he hasn't informed us if he wants to go to a restaurant, have me cook something, when? where? what?

slacker... and after all I did for him to bring him into this world....

LOL Smiley....how totally inconsiderate...grin. Your vision would normally be fairly correct...but every 7 or 8 years we get slammed by some huge Arctic Fart that blasts all the plants not hardy to zone 7b/8a. It is absolutely gut wrenching to walk out there and see slick, black leaves where a plant used to be, but bright green weeds happily sucking up the sun.

All of my orchids, aroids, plumeria, succulents and some small trees are in the greenhouse, along with some odds and ends in containers.

I can't even look in my back yard after the first frost. I have 3 pots outside my back door (where we go in ~ it's actually a side door) and it kills me to look at them. They're daisies and turtleheads, so I know they'll be back next year, but the daisy leaves are all green mush right now with about 6 inches of snow on top.

At least you have a greenhouse to save those nice heat loving plants.

DH loves to re-live the day on the kids' birthdays. he was quizzing me this morning, Jacob came a month early and he had a tough time of it for about a week. Do I really need to re-live that?? Didn't trip me up, though. (c'mon, you're dealing with the mom here)

I don't think there is anywhere warm this year.

Seems at some point everyone has gotten some artic air.
OK I'm going up, if I don't resurface by morning send in the hounds...

Men don't have that visceral connection Julie...otherwise they would think before they say some things. What was a worry for them is reliving a nightmare for a mom.

I caught him on a few things he forgot about. He felt really guilty and ashamed for not wanting to go up to see him one day. Said he was dog tired. Are you kidding? Our baby is still there and you're tired? I had forgotten about that, he didn't.

But he did forget the doctors name (I didn't - jerk!) and what kind of drugs they gave me after (none-the doctor forgot, jerk!) "Oh, does that hurt? let me give you something."

It's all good, though. Made him a fighter. To see him now you'd never know he was a preemie.

Well, better continue on with my day. DS said he wanted to order chinese takeout and watch football. I don't know if I believe him or not, he was talking about a fancy restaurant the other day.
