You're telling me!!! This is the later part of typical for him, though. I think my stomach ate itself. ~hic~ and that second drink is putting me to sleep...
Oh. He says it's ready now.
Zzzzzz....
What for dinner? Pt 3
If I ate dinner now, I would never sleep.
I'm planning on watching a chick flick afterward. That'll clear the room. Then I'll finally have some peace and quiet.
Dinner's ready. See ya!
change of plan's - stuffed cabbage! tomorrow
Ugh. I didn't like it. I have a stomach ache. No movie. Going to bed. : (
Had company for dinner last night. Made a Gratin using the Painted Lady Runner Beans I grew two years ago on my front porch and Meyer Lemon Ricotta Cookies with whole milk Ricotta I made last weekend. Oh - and a fancy spinach salad from Trader Joe's. I'm off to make a cream of curried peanut soup for lunch before I eat any more of the cookies. (Yes, I get bored when I am off work and the kitchen suffers.)
I like the smell of many different foods while they're cooking, but there is something special about soup simmering. Very soothing. We have split-pea on the stove now.
Broiled Club steaks w/ mushrooms & onions; baked potato; spinach & cherry tomato salad.
stuffed cabbage was great - lots left so we be having it a couple more times
Chinese food, we're still trying to find a really good one down near us.
went to shop rite today and loaded up with the can can sale.. chili will be made this week!!
Pork chops last night. I'm thinking meatloaf tonight. I have to thaw the ground beef.
pork tenderloin w/mashed potatoes, veggie
Chinese. Sesame chicken w/brocoli and white rice.
Chili with brown rice tonight. Probably broccoli or salad on the side.
Spanish rice with something - have not decided yet.
What Food Network shows do you guys like? I like Giada, Rachel Ray, Paula and some of the Food Challenge shows.
I've never watched a food channel
me neither
That's why you're up at 11 and still waiting to eat, Harp!!!
Only on days DH cooks. Thank heavens he doesn't cook that often!
I can't watch any food shows, I always get hungry watching them. We don't have cable anyway.
my wife watches a couple of the reality food shows - there is one right now with i think an italien guy that is pretty funny
My husband doesn't cook, not even on the grill anymore. I don't really mind. I do like to read cook books, or look up recipes on line, I'd probably like a food channel, just haven't watched yet.
Cottage roll, mashed taters and spinach.
I like "The Shopping Bags" and a Canadian one "Simple, Fresh, Delicious"
No cable, Deb?
We have direct tv, I don't watch very much, but there are probably some on there.
What's a cottage roll?
The Food Network is on DirecTV.
Sounds yummy, but then there's not too much I don't like.
It's one of my favourites! cottage rolls that is.
That link did not work for me.
copy and paste the site address
Theres one on called "Bill the Cooking Guy", I think. He is very funny, sloppy and simple. He cooks with the dog in the kitchen and is disorganized but the food looks good.
Years ago I liked the Italian guy who sang opera. Don't remember his name. Also liked The Frugal Gourmet, with Jeff Smith. He was involved with some scandal that sunk him.
Pavarotti!
Leftover night! (lol!) Leftover chili with rolls & spinach salad for me, DW had leftover pot roast w/salad. She's baking cinnamon swirl pound cake for dessert.
Hee hee. Pavarotti could certainly eat though!
I liked the Cajun guy too.
Just made bread pudding with leftover panattone from work.Too bad I promised to take it back to work tomorrow. I found the recipe on YouTube - I hope it is good. The middle wasn't quite set but it had been in the oven a really long time. Hmmm - maybe I better check my over temperature.
sounds good!.. hope it turned out
