I think the education is a great Birthday gift! Wish I could have been able to go to college? You tell him to keep his grades up, and get a great job afterwards!
Morning Marion. Sorry to hear about Kims car getting hit and run by the deer. Her insurance should give her a rental till it is fixed?
What about your sons truck, is it going to be fixed?

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

morning ladies. lk i'm feeling better thanks. it is starting to snow here, and will be getting to 9 degrees tonite. i made 2 pans of corn bread, 1 for the peacocks and one for the chickens. hoping the extra food will keep them warm. michael put heat lamps in their coops sunday, so hopefully they will be toasty.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Morning Ladies,

Isn't this craziest weather we are all having? It is so foggy here you can cut it with a knife. And I have some things to get in the mail, I hate driving in the fog. Last night I had a dinner date (didn't care for the guy) and on my way home I could hardly see where I was going. Luckily I only had about 2 miles to go.

I still have not met Chuck yet, he has been working lots of overtime from 3 am to about 5 pm. Poor guy he says he comes home eats, showers, to bed then back up again. So we have set a meeting for Saturday. I will be bowling and told him to come there. Then we'll see what happens. My mom is in bed sick with a horrible sore throat. Took her to the doc for her knee yesterday. Looks like she will be needing a knee replacement. But first they are giving her 3 weeks of injections of supartz hopefully will last for a year or so. She told the doctor that she is NOT giving up her bowling. he laughed and said "Good for You" He is such a sweetheart and a cutie, i bet he is not even 40 yet. Well I have many thing to work on so I will bid you "Good Day, Ladies" keep warm

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Snow? Oh Kathy get some pictures for us please. Stay warm!!!!

LK, yes they are fixing the truck but the damage just climbed $2,000.00 after the had taken the front fender off. More was discovered--the other car less than 2000.00-----the truck at the moment is 5,500.00. It is appearing more and more the other person ran into him before he was moving--oh well. So be it.

Kim had to get an estimate on her car to see if it is more than her deductible--she has a horrible history with getting hit on the rear driver's side. None of which has been her fault. After the estimate we will see what is done about a rental--if not and we have the truck back in action, she can use my Highlander. There again time will tell.

Off to have lunch with DIL--later...........................

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Jaye, I have a very snug apt. I've been wearing my "long-johns" and it helps! I keep the heat on 80* and it stays nice and toasty, if I wear enough clothes! I'm still in my fleece pjs with cupcakes on them! I might stay in them till this cold front leaves! 7* tonight, with more snow. Temp is already dropping. 21* now.
Jaye, cold tea will help burns. Soak a wash cloth in it and keep changing it to keep it cold. It'll help keep it from scarring, too. Hope he's feelin g better!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Jaye - what y'all doing on the phone? I tried to call lol

~Susan~

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh No Kel! From now on, no hot chocolate for you unless you can promise you are WIDE AWAKE!!! Hope you're feeling better. Would candy help????? ;o)

Lunch with girlfriend was good yesterday. When we met in the summer for lunch she just wasn't herself and now she's on anti-depression meds and is back to her old self. I'm so glad she took my advise and went to see a Dr. After lunch, I hit Sam's Club for cat food and half and half...did I tell you all this already? Then to the Half Price book store and got one half price book and 4 $1.00 books. Three are John Grisham. After that I went to in-laws house to feed and cuddle with their kitty. When I got home I was exhausted! I was really glad I'd made chili the day before, cause then I didn't have to think about supper.

Today, we're getting hammered with snow. Not sure how much is down, but it is still coming and the watch is on until 6:00 am tomorrow. I had to go do the kitty thing at the ILs and I slip sideways, twice. Main roads weren't too bad, but the side roads were awful. Hopefully by the time I have to go tomorrow, they'll be clear.

I've been putting the rest of the Christmas wrappings and decorations away in the basement and making candy today. I'm on the last batch of cashew brittle for a lady who has ordered 5 bags. I won't be delivering them today, I promise you that!!!!

Love yous guys!

Raleigh, NC

y'all I've been avoiding the tree like the plague after I tried a couple times to remove ornaments. got stabbed by brittle long needles. Yuck. My poor skin on hands is as dry as can be to begin with!

Earlier, had a brainstorm, went and got a clean pair of atlas gloves on, and had 1/3 the tree stripped before exercise class! not one stab!

Housework, now shopping before the snow storms get here. Raleigh stores will be stripped for bread, milk and eggs by 6pm, everyone is so afraid of snow now!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Hope Kel is feeling better today. I hate burns so much!

Great video!!!

Going to at least Go to spin class tonight, doubt I will ride very long. I don't think this elbow will take the pressure for very long...have heat on it right now.

Hope you all get warm soon....we were at freezing over night, should hit low to mid forties for a high today. I would rather have snow than Ice or freezing rain any day.

Need to finish cleaning up, maintenance is coming tomorrow to replace the worn gaskets in the bath tub faucets. Getting really tired of the drip, drip, drip.

Everyone stay safe and warm...

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Thank you everyone for your birthday wishes.

Bon, that’s amusing, we always have a few of those misplaced items.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Bon that is a great idea for taking down the tree.
Trisha take it easy at spin class, don't over do it!
Hey Audrey, sounds like you are nice and comfy in your jammies, and thermals!
Marion, sure hope you can get the vehicles fixed!
Hey Laura, nice to see you here. Hope your doing well?
I had tomato soup for lunch, and that sure tasted good! I make it with milk. Nice hot soup, for a cold day!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

sorry maid m. the snow stopped as fast as it started. if it starts snowing again i'll take a picture for you

Raleigh, NC

snow? In Alabama? what next!

they are predicting snow tonight. the bread shelves were bare. Raleighites get really scared of snowstorms ever since about 2003 when we all got iced, then snowed in for 4 days.

just got back from the store. Found nice lean Angus meat (London Broil) at 50% off for my diet cooking. bought 4 - soon as I walked through the door, Randall claimed them for making beef jerky. He's been waiting to afford those types of cuts for a while.

but he also met me as soon as I sat down with Jaye's package! OHHH, this fabric is GORGEOUS. I think I saw some iris fabric to match online.. gotta go check it out.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Well I just checked the weather and sleet is predicted for our area in the morning. Now that should really be something as very few people here know or have ever had to deal with that type road for driving. Concerns me for my daughter driving to her work--then again if it does occur they may cancel school for the day. Only time will tell.

LK both care are getting repaired but for now it is a juggling act. Had a wonderful day with my DIL --so glad she offered to take me to do my running around. We ended up have a girls only night out for pizza as son works late tonight. Just glad I got eveything done today while it was in the upper 50s as tomorrow 40 is predicted. Sweats for sure for dress.

Stay warm all, don't go out unless it is absolutely necessary--then think really hard if it is necessary and above all stay warm!!!!

Thank you for all your loving well wishes for my dear, dear Sleeping Beauty Kel :D Antibiotics both topical and internal for now.
Yep, toothpaste works, but best is cold water. That's what I learnt in Safety working in the chemicals and dye dept. for years.

Audrey, I heard the tannin in the tea helps too. Will have to remember that. Double socks here ;)

Cookie, does a monkey ever turn down a banana?

That sucks Maid M reading of Kim's incident. At least no damage to her. That's a blessing. Please tell Kim to avoid coffee for the next few days, don't want her nerves frayed while driving... This earth can be rid of some deers, but there's only one Kim and she happens to be our beloved Maid M's best daughter ;)

I had totalled my station wagon in the late 80's hitting a 9 point buck. The only regrets were expressed by my ex, for not picking up the 'meat'.

Synda... ahem.. I bet that's the only time Ryan 'cross dress'? Think I prefer the cow-dude!!! Thanks for sharing! Awesome gift!

LK, we'll be saying a prayer for you that all goes well. Do hope that will relieve all those pains you're experiencing. And please put my name down for the fq swap. You know this is a good chance to pick up more fabric for that lap quilt.

Bonnie, it got to you fast!!! Mailed it yesterday! Now you can think of a pattern.. plenty online.

Susan, I'm sorry sistah! Remember that Singapore friend I've found on FB who's living now in Orlando? Well, we reminisced over old times and try to comfort each other on the present, and we chatted for hours, till Kel closed the shop!!!

And yes, it's supposed to snow tomorrow morning here :( Kel is moving Hambone to his workshop where he'll be all toasty and warm.

Okay Sistah Kathy... Sis Debbie.... game's on. It's getting vicious!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Oops... I need to explain the Sistah Lap Quilt again. Think there are a few that's still holding out, not too sure about it.
Here goes...

I send out 3/4 yard fabric to any wanting to join.
There's NO sending ANYTHING out to anyone. Use the fabric for YOUR OWN lap quilt.
You supply the rest of the fabrics, complementing or contrasting, and backing needed to finish the quilt.
Your own pattern, execute at your own pace. No deadline, no judgement, just share your progress with us.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Never have quilted....I am about 1/4 way through the shawl I am crocheting...think I will try knitting the next one. But I have a Hat I want to try as my next project.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

We're having grilled pork chops and NY strips, Trisha. I can use a bowl of that peas soup... sigh...
Stay warm please.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Trisha, you can try with just simple squares. I'm sure you'll pick up fast!!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Maybe one of these days....As the saying goes in my family, "I need another project like Daddy needs a Side Saddle!"....never could figure out why my dad wanted a side saddle...I wished he would get one so we could get a horse to go with it! Neither of us ever got our wish...

Raleigh, NC
