Didn't have a chance to get on line as I had some serious TV watching to do. Can't miss NCIS and then ended up watching a little more.
So happy to hear Faith is now home where she belongs. I was worrying that the cold might be too much for her, but showed us she can take that bitter cold.
Suppose to be another warm day tomorrow, just hope I get out in the yard to look at my plants. I have to take my pooper scooper with me as the dogs seem to like to make a mess right where I walk. When the dogs came to live at our house they were supposed to belong to DH, but I end up feeding them and cleaning up after them. He justs give them a lot of extra love, both of them lay down for a nap every day. He calls it baby-sitting the girls.

Glad to hear Faith is home.
Trisha, you guys please be careful...
Synda, has Ryan figured out his major yet?
G'night ladies....stay warm and dry..........take care
I have no idea.....I'm having a hard enough time getting everything in order.
Happy Birthday Laura! Sure are glad you're feeling better in time for your big day.
I'm so relieved that Faith is down. I was so worried. I have three cats myself and can't imagine the worry and frustration you felt. I bet she's happy to be down, too!
Lunch with a girlfriend today before another big snow is called for tomorrow. It's days like that that I'm glad I don't have to get out in the morning and drive.
Morning everyone! Coffee is on. And I have fresh gree grapes, or banana's for breakfast. Gonna try my best and lose weight this year!
I took a zyrtec for my hives, and an ambien to help me sleep, so I am just now getting up!
Bon, so glad to hear that Faith is back home,. You all have to be so relieved?
Trisha, glad to hear that Laura is feeling better!
Hello to Synda, Pegi, Julie, and everyone else!
Happy Birthday to Laura! May you have a day filled with lots of love and pressies!
I pray you all have a nice day!

Good Morning Glories! No coffee on here, I'm on diet and would fill it with cream! So big pot of Earl Grey tea to chase that cold away out of our bones. and I'm doing boiled eggs, too - help yourselves if you've a mind to!
Darn it's cold. I was right - weatherman yesterday finally showed us the "average high temp for this day" yesterday, and we're 20 degrees below that! usually in 50s, barely in 30s.
Birthday wishes going out to Laura!!!
How is Faith this morning?
Marion, Faith is back home, and filled her tummy!
we cross posted LK - yup. was relieved, drained last night. went to bed after I cleaned the kitchen. Randall did too. Just as he was drifting off, he turned to me and said, "you know, Ithink that soup on the deck did it. she didn't come to me when she came down, she made a beeline for the deck. all she needed was me shining that light in her eyes so she couldn't see how far down she might fall and fussing at her whenever she stopped moving down." So Jaye's idea worked!
I've made the soup twice since we've had her, and both times she and Hope sit within an arm's reach staring at me. After I strain the broth, what's in the strainer, I divide out the bones, strip them clean, then everything not going back in the soup is theirs. sometimes it takes an hour, but they don't budge. I figured if the smell of my soup fixings didn't lure her nothing would. They don't fight over it, but that's the only time they won't let the other eat from their bowl.
Yes, I was up and read Bonnie post last night--just curious how she was doing this morning. I am cold!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAURA!!!!!! Hope your feeling better and have a wonderful day!!
Yay for Faith! So glad she came down finally!!
I've read everything and since my coffee isn't working yet, beginning to think it's not going to, I don't remember what I read!! LOL I'm going to get to work here and hope everyone has a great day!
LOL Crissy you need a cup of the coffee my DD made this morning--talk about a jump start!!!! I think she lost count of the scoops she was putting into the coffee maker. Let's just say I am wired for the day!!!!!!!!!
My Granny liked her coffee so thick, she wanted the spoon to stand up in it, then she could eat it! YUCK!
Sorry ladies, mine is decafe, and hubby makes his regular. We alsways have two pots going here! Regular coffee make gives me hives, and so does too much chocolate, and stress!
Understand about the thick coffee LK--my late MIL made her's that way--I had to cut it with hot water as it was way to strong for me and I drink fairly strong coffee.
For everyone who has coughs and colds: PLEASE try rubbing Vicgs Vapo Rub on the soles of your feet and put on socks when you go to bed! THIS WILL STOP THE COUGHING! I hope everyone gets better, including me!
Happy Birthday Laura. I wish you great health!!
I need a boost.. yeah.. pass me a cup of that "jump start" coffee, Maid M!
Got used to strong chicory coffee when living in Cajun country and also in the Middle East.
Bones seem to be lacking of the 'wannas' and sure don't want to turn today into one non productive one. Got some mailing to do, and need to get out of the house!
LK, thanks for the perfect fruit... bananas. Do you know it's perfect to chase away depression too as it contains a chemical that converts into seratonin which makes us more relax? I sure need to eat a whole
crate!!!
Audrey, hey there. Hope you have enough source of heat in your home.
Cookie, it's been a long, long time since I'm out with a girlfriend.. like 7 years :( Can't wait till I see my sistahs in June!
At times, some mischievous kitties will sneak into rooms they aren't allowed. Bonnie, since we had Possum, our blind kitty, my call to din-din time for them will be to yell out for Possum. So, each time there's one that hides in a prohibited room, all I have to do is call out Possum.
Before you can count 3... you'll see the culprit making a bee-line for the community platter!!
Synda, hope you find that treasure chest!
Deborah... Audrey... Still not too late to join the Sistah Lap Quilt.
Make one for yourself, your own design, just add complementary or contrasting fabrics to the one I sent. No deadline, but share your work with us.
Have a good day at work, Crissy and Susan~~~
Hambone's relieved it's in the 30's today!
I'll see you all later ladies!
Thank you to everyone who said Happy Birthday!
Thank you for the good wishes for becoming well. On the pain killers right now, but with them the pain is pretty much gone, though I had to take them this morning because it was bothering me enough I was having trouble sleeping, but so much better!
Oh btw... Happy 12th day of Christmas, Epiphany or Three Kings Day!
Jaye, that is to funny--my late MIL's coffee was the chicory type famous in La. I could drink it when it was cut a little but straight from the pot--no way!
Take care of yourself and be sure the other 4 legged babies don't eat all Possum's food!! That just wouldn't be fair.
Laura, it is good to see you posting and I hope you are well soon also. How is Mom doing today?
Off to do some more ugh! housework.
Happy Birthday Daughter!!! So happy to hear you sounding so much better!
Had to pop in quick will come back and catch up later!
Happy Birthday Laura! Happy Epiphany! gotta finish getting this tree down and Christmas officially put away for another year.
In our family, this day became the day the last small gifts are given. Because by now Mom (me) has found whatever little things bought early and tucked away that could not be located for Christmas day! LOL well, that's how it started! When the kids were little, we had a fireplace that was never used (yes, ex was that much of a neat freak!). I found some cool backpacks, then hide them too well. stuffed them up the fireplace and told the kids that Santa had called because he thought maybe some of their gifts got caught in the fireplace on his way down, and he was in a great hurry leaving. They should check. Li'l ol' Dannyboy went flying down the stairs and got all the way in the fireplace, found them, but had to have taller big sister help get them out. It became tradition from there.
Faith update: sleeping the day away. Upon being offered an opened door to outside, turned and walked away! Like a big kitty version of "NOT ON YOUR LIFE"
Call the Nestle Crunch Hotline at 800-295-0051, When you are asked if you want to continue in English or Spanish, just wait quietly for about 10 seconds and you will smile. Promise! Keep going and press 4. Listen to the options...then press 7.
If you comment on this after listening, don't give away the surprise!
There is no comment here, just call and listen. It may take awhile to get through, but oh so funny!
Happy Birthday Laura! Hope you had a wonderful day and got sll your wishes.
I am so happy that Faith is now in her snug warm home and outta that tree!!! Such great news!
Weather here has been bitter cold---in the 20's since Sunday and all my plants, including the ones I lugged to GH are toast! I am so hoping some come back in the spring, but with so many back-to-back hard freezes it will be a miracle.
So tied of dressing like Nanook of the North to go to work each day!!!
LK!!! Love it!!! Took awhile to get thru (line busy) but worth the redial!!! LOL!
Stay warm everyone!!!
Linda
Sistah Judy, so glad you called. Gave us some very much needed laughter!! You'd do well with the towels.. don't you worry too much.
Kel got burnt with a hot cup of chocolate.
He was wanting one.. fell asleep in the chair when I was making it. Then when I woke him up.. handed him the chocolate.. he went right back to sleep!!! Disaster!!! It spilled on his belly and having no Neomycin nor Aloe Vera, cold water is splashed on the burnt area for 10 minutes. After that, I spread some toothpaste and placed a wet cold towel over it for almost an hour. Poor man was in pain. Gave him 3 Tylenols for pain and some antibiotics.
It was quite a large area and the heat has wore off some now. I'm prepared for blisters forming, and have applied gauze.
Poor guy... never had this happened to him. He told Sistah Judy a few more inches, he would have been a eunuch!!
(I'd say-----"freedom"!)
I'll try that tomorrow LK. Sure need some laughter to start the day!
Bon, what a nice family tradition. Bet you change the hiding place every year.
Linda, I have lost almost ALL my brug cuttings too. Just hoping the ones outside will return in spring. Hope the extra inches in mulching will help them.
Nanook.. funny!!! Be safe on the roads please.
Bidding you all a good night.
Be warm.
Oh Jaye, I hope Kel is feeling better. Toothpaste? never heard of that one...hmmm
Just popped in to see how everyone was doing......so off to bed with me....
Good night all
Julie
Good Morning Glory! Got a big pot of tea on, White Tea and Tangerine. Randall's got the coffee on, but I've gotten rid of all the creamers, bring you own!
DD was stunned when I put ice on her burn during Cookie-Geddon. Horrified. She looked it up online and told me it says NO ICE. But it didn't blister at all. Now she loves it - ice was used for years, gently rubbed back and forth on burns. Oh poor Kel! Poor man!
How can you tell if cuttings are "gone"? I don't know what they are supposed to look like now. These you sent, Jaye don't look so good.
Haven't hidden gifts in years! every year there's a few I can't find, so I don't buy anything, either! Dusting of snow tonight. Think I'm going to go lay out a fire in ours for tonight.
Well, Faith just bolted out the door when Randall filled the birdfeeder. Silly kitty! Hope she comes back soon. It's COLD out.
Am still on my diet and exercise, and as usual whenever I first start one, scales are going up not down! This happens to me every time.
Morning everyone!
Good Jaye, Sure hope Kel is OK this morning? Never heard of toothpaste either, but never heard of not to put ice on a burn.
My cousin always used mustard. It acted as a drawing agent, and took all the pain away! Wow, I just went to webmd.com, and it states not to use ice, just cool water for 10 to 20 minutes, it also says you can use chamomile or hydrocortisone cream. Guess we learn something new everyday?
Bon, I sure hope Faith has not gone up that tree again, I hope she learned her lesson the other day!
Sorry to hear your brugs are doing well. I have my cutting in huge bowls and milk jugs of moss and water. So far they are doing OK? I sure hope some of the roots I left in the ground come back this spring. I miss my garden so much! I keep walking out to the garden, and all I see are little sticks in the ground through the mulch.
Tomorrow I will be mising, I have to go to the hospital for what they call day surgery. The Dr. is going to put me to sleep, and inject both of my hips with pain meds, and steroids, to hopefully make me walk easier, and that will hopefully help my knee heal! If that does not work she wants to do another knee replacement, and I am NOT ready for that yet!
Well, coffee is ready for those in need!
Stay warm everyone. I read on the news that in North Dakota, it was -54 with the windchill, and so much snow, they could not plow anymore! Glad I am here with 45 degrees!
Someday I will have this home and fireplace!
Later
LK
ohhh Lk - have ALWAYS wanted a stone fireplace like that! gorgeous.
I do the same thing, walk down iris rows counting the still green ones. foliage dies back, but, like, here they will show baby leaves about to sprout all winter. at least if it isn't too cold. Don't mulch these, so I can see the baby leaf sprout "tips of green." tap my toes and wait....
g'morning all!
Ouch, Kel - do not fall asleep on the couch, k? I hope the burn is better......
LK - it sounds like you've had a knee replacement before..... and is painful? I imagine it would be! Take care, hon.
Not here, but in Saskatchewan (Estevan), it's -56F, after windchill factored in..... Yikers!
It's -13 here, no windchill, and Estevan is only 6 hours straight east. I guess they got the weather we almost had. We never had -56, but I'll bet the little ones aren't going to school today!!
Take care everyone - I'll be MIA on & off - trying to get more work done, at work, and quilting night tonight at my friends :-)
♫♪~§usan~♪♫
Morning everyone.
Jaye,Tell Kell we are all so sorry. And yes, that's all we use here for burns, is toothpaste. It burns like heck for a few minutes, but it draws all of the heat out. I am surprised about the ice though. We have one of the noted burn units here at Baton Rouge General and they soak their burn patients in tubs of ice. Hmm........
Taters, I will keep you in my prayers. My Pastor had both of his knees replaced and it was painful, but now he moves around like a young man.
Oh Susan -13. How do you stand it. Girl, bundle up real good and I hope you have a safe, warm day.
It's predicting snow tonight, but just a dusting.
my ILs are in Sturgis SD. They were expecting a blizzard yesterday, and already had a lot of snow on the ground. I love to see it, but then want it GONE. haven't had to live where it stuck around since 1987. we are so spoiled here!
Hi everyone!! Maid Marion I need that strong coffee today, got about 1 1/2 to 2 hours sleep last night. Was hoping for an inclement weather day but no go, all of the snow and freezing rain we were supposed to get didn't happen, so the weather liars struck again! We got rain and some sleet, but the temp when I got up at 6:30 was 34*, that's our high for the day, it's down to 28* now and will keep dropping throughout the day.
I've got to get to work, see ya'll later!
Morning.......Hope and pray all are safe and warm!!!!!!
Jaye how if Kel,hopefully not in too much pain.Poor Guy ~~~~~~
Today is Ryan's 23rd Birthday ,so I made him a video.Hope you all watch and enjoy. http://www.onetruemedia.com/otm_site/view_shared?p=a25a3396cf7d4bd3723d13&skin_id=0&utm_source=PostFacebook&utm_medium=Share&utm_content=PostFacebook&utm_campaign=PostFacebook&origin=facebook
hahahahaha it's warm @ -13F for January here!! Remember the -56F in Estevan.... it's right above the US border (eastern Montana I think.......or maybe a bit more east - which ever States those are lol)
we're looking forward to 18F by this afternoon (yes, plus). We have wicked chinook winds and they really warm up the weather. By mid week next, it's going up to 43F, so I'm happy with that.
Well, busy day today, so will chat later.
~Susan~
jaye, tell kel to get better quick. tonite is the nite the saban nation will rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ROLL TIDE ROLL
Synda, love the video you put together for Ryan. Very nice!
Hey Kathy, how are you feeling? We miss you here, you need to post more if you can? What are you up to?
Morning to Bon, Susan, Debbie, Crissy, and everyone else lurking!
Ouch but that hurts!!! LOL please tell Kel I can sympathize with him, years ago I was pouring boiling water off my spaghetti and I missed the sink and hit my tummy!! First thing Ross did was put ice on it and I almost divorced him right then--worked though. Mine blistered and left a scar and NO, I will not show it to anyone!!! LOL
We are to get into the 50s today but then tonight back into the 20s with teen predicted by Monday night. I am cold!!!
Well as if my son's truck being hit wasn't enough, a deer ran into Kim's car and put a major dent in the back quarter panel plus breaking out the taillight. She said it was a "hit and run" but I have serious doubts as to whether or not it will live after seeing the dent and the size of it. Must have been a really large deer. Funny thing she was going though one of the small towns on her way to work--not on a long stretch with forest on both sides. Go figure.
Trying to get the last of the festival applications out and then be ready to go with my DIL to pick the little "pirate angels" up from school. They asked her to bring Grandma today so I think I will be up for a break by then.
Crissy, sorry I made coffee this morning and it is drinkable--no after glow with this pot. I will, however, make you a pot of strong coffee if you would like.
Waving to all and okay "Roll Tide!" I can cheer anyone on now that FSU had a win for Bowden's last game.
