Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Wow! Someone left the freezer open!

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Wow! I sure felt it leaving work at 11 tonight.

they said 4-8" and then it went down to 2" and we got nothing and no wind ! yet

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Its 10* now predicting 20-30 mph winds all day and another 3-6 inches of snow.
This is the kind of weather that makes me feel confined so I shop.

I look around at auctions coming up. Found one that has a high end reputation. Former Govenor of MA Frank G Allen. There is unique items and a ton of history being auctioned off. This caught my eye.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Its a beauty. Smaller than I thought.Needs a pedestal

What is the guy/lady I thinks its a guy. Not american right?

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Its hard to say
I'm not an antiques expert but the clues would be its going to be expensive because of where its comming from.
I doubt the Gov. would get involved with cheap repros ,if he actually chose his own garden statuary. Most likely a Landscape designer did the chooseing.
Its my guess French or English

Its a Roman God or figure is what I meant. The only other thing I can think of is Lady Liberty the one that is on some of the silver dollars but I dont remember if she holds a wand or what ever in her hand. I doubt its a cheapy.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Its stated in the pic.
Artemis Goddess she was the daughter of Zeus Greek by the way.
Google her.

I dont see that but thanks! I was close :-)

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

when you forward the pictures there is a title on one of them.

I think it's too windy to walk, same as yesterday, I only made 3/4 of a mile and the wind in my face was too much. Still trying to decide, I hate to miss a day.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I went out to feed the birds yesterday.SIL put the trunk of the Xmastree perpendicular to the wood pile, under the feeder so small birds and ground feeders could scurry under the branches and eat.The Crows will clean everything up if I dont protect the seed.
They also bully any birds that come.
Its frost bite time Debbi, be careful.
Its just too cold.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Wind is howling, snow is blowing, it's been snowing since thursday afternoon ........need I say more. :(
Pictures later , after I stop whinning.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Not due to end here until tomorrow

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

here either.......we have at least 2 feet of snow.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Hard to tell how deep it is here on the windy hill.
Lots of buildup on the deck, lawn is barely dusted.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Well I did about 1 1/4 mile which is better than 0 miles. My face is still cold, even with a scarf wrapped around most of it. Some drifting in the road but I don't think we got much yet.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

We have snow falling again, but only inches not feet. Another 1-3 inches today for around 4-5 inches total. We do have the cold though, it is 10 degrees now with a good stiff breeze blowing in with gusts from the nnw.

(Zone 5b)

no snow! :( would anybody like me to take some of their snow off their hands?
13 degrees and wind was howling all night.
schickenlady that's a very nice statue!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

well we did not get any flurries yesterday.. but the wind is still nuts.. supposed to be bad until 7 tonight.. 18 now.. high of 26

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

Lynnie, please come get some. We're a little over five feet. It's very light snow, and we have huge drifts. Everything around is shut down. We've been getting plowed/ snowblowed out for about two hours now.

(Zone 5b)

it just started flurrying...it's so windy it's not even landing lol
five feet haha I'd get lost in that

South Hamilton, MA

about 3" of new snow. temp. 18° driving winds which makes a tough wind chill factor.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Gusty winds up to 40 mph...high of 26 with wind chill about 4...at least the sun is shining and no snow for us.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

21" here and it has stopped for now but the weatherman said it's not done yet. YUCK!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Snowing again. :(

On the other hand...my new metal roof we had installed last August works very well. Almost too well, right before i went out to shovel the deck off, it let go. I could barely open the patio doors as the snow was up to my waist!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

so you have 18" of snow there celeste? :)

we got another 2" for a total of about 6" - need to clean everything off and then see how the x-country ski trails are!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Ha ha ha, very funny! We have 21 " ...I measured. But the snow off the roof ontop of the 21 made it very deep for these short legs.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

24°, windchill -4°, wind NW 19mph, overcast

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

- snowing again, at a good rate too!

South Hamilton, MA

up to 25° Some light snow throughout the morning--sun for about 5 minutes but it is lighting up the clouds now.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

22 here now and the skiing was great!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Snowing still, I can hear the search plane flying over the lake , we have a local kid missing since New Year's Eve. They think he tried to cross the lake w/his sled in an effort to get home sooner. :(

(Zone 5b)

how awful, the poor family.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

At this point it would seem like a recovery effort, as opposed to a search & rescue...

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I think your right WC but for the family's sake they just aren't saying that yet.
