looks like some great rock in that there stream!

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Victor, Yes, it separates us from the next property, but it is all woods. Our house is on the other side of the road, thus we sleep in the barn on the brook side to enjoy it. Crazy. But I love the running water sounds at night. you can see the corner edge of the lower part of the barn in this shot with Winnie dog which is a screened in porch. Above porch is my office and on the top floor is our sleeping room. I blew out as much space as we could to put in big glass windows on the brook side, but from the other 3 sides, which is the only part anyone can see, it looks just like an old barn.

Wha, more great rocks than even you could use, maybe. Patti

Wow - gorgeous! How lucky you are. I love water.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

It is a tad funky, with no real land, but heck, we have lots of it all around us that belongs to others, so they get to pay the taxes. The biggest issue is that the dirt road in between the house and the barn is very close to both. Hence the car in the living room a few years ago. But all better again. Patti

Whoa!

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Victor, she didn't hear you and just kept going! No one was home and in the favorite corner chair which is where the Christmas tree is this year. Patti

(Zone 5b)

shoot, that happened to a friend of mine, they broke the foundation and everything (she was the renter not the driver)

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Lynni6868, no trouble with the foundation, as it made of cut granite stones on top of big stones that was built in the 1830's, but the actual house on the foundation was built in1790. The house was moved a few miles to this site down the nearby mountain by oxen. The foundation was solid as a rock...granite! Picture of the corner where car slammed into the house taken that day. hers was an old farmhouse, too but not that old! lol only from the 40's or 50's, I think.
it was in CT. I think the driver had a diabetic reaction.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Nice. Maybe the driver was trying to move it back?

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Our neighbor and friend just hit some ice on the corduroyed road and skidded into the house. She was not badly injured but went to the hospital. Poor thing was totally freaked out about the damage. It was great that she hit the house as if she had skidded the other way, she would be mostly likely be dead. She would have gone over the bank and into the brook which was raging with a Jan snow melt. No one would have seen her, unless maybe the skid marks. Patti

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

VERY FUNNY, Victor. Her husband was our lawyer for the house closing. They had used the house that fall when we weren't here for overflow for a big family reunion that they were having. Patti

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow - it gets better! He closed and she tried to re-open!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Terrible driver, should at least hit something that's moving ...not a house! (lol!)

(Zone 5b)

around here we call it an open house, Victor
ba da bum

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

You guys are good.

This summer we were repairing our shed across from the house, which we had to winch back in place with a chain attached to a truck. So while we were blocking the road, I played flag girl and waved everyone through the front yard around the truck. She happened by and caused quite a big laugh when she got out of her car and said, "I know you don't really want me driving through your yard again" It apparently is a running joke in her life now. Poor dear. Patti

Looks like the snow has stopped for now at least. Between two and three inches looks like. Temp is 28º and a very light wind from the ENE.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

same here going out now to clean it off

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Got more than I thought - a couple of inches. Was plowed out. Now icing up.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Got 2" this afternoon, cloudy but not snowing now. Expecting 12-14" this weekend which is better than the 21" they said we might get.

(Zone 5b)

we got 2 inches also...powdery stuff, it's so dry! 31 degrees.

South Hamilton, MA

temp was in the 30s. light snow this afternoon--enough to be annoying. Got food this afternoon--more snow prdicted.

Fredericton N B, Canada(Zone 4a)

We are just waiting for the first nor'easter of the decade. They say it's going to be a bad one.Thank goodness Santa brought a big snow blower.JOY

South Hamilton, MA

2" of snow today, just when we were shopping for groceries. However, all stocked now--bigger storm on Sat & Sun.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Yup waiting on the same Nor'Easter Joy, it's going to be a 3 day event. Starts today but the worst of it will be tomorrow evening, should be done by sometimes on Sunday.
Broke down and bought the Generator....guess this means I can buy an Orchid now. ^_^

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

About two and a half inches of snow from yesterday still clinging to the trees. Looks pretty and that is the only nice thing about it. Twenty five here now. What little wind there is is from the north. You all up north should get the mother lode this storm coming over the next three days. We should get about 6" unless they change their minds again. I don't think the weather people know for sure either. I like the fast moving storms even if they dump a lot of snow. This dribs and drabs thing over days and days is not a fun way to get a batch of snow. Does help with the shoveling part though.
