I am looking forward to seeing more of these next spring. I planted a few more of these this fall.

great tulips
Our snow is gone as of yesterdays rain.
Its 40* but no chance of that staying round for long.

Athens, PA

The first flowers in the spring always seem to be the most exciting for me. I bought these little iris in a co-op the year before, planted them that fall and then promptly forgot about them -(I had gone pretty heavy on the co-ops that year). When I first saw them coming up, I could not imagine what they were and was so excited when they opened!

I live for that

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

I love the Iris bucharica. They tend to bloom for me for two years after planting and then don't come back. I need to plant them in a drier area.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

PollyK, thanks for the heads up. I have some other bulbs that are ephemeral also. Of course, I had to look up that word on Google before I new what you were talking about. I love DG, learn something new every day.

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

I love the reticulated iris but haven't had much luck with them. Got to find just the right place. I planted a few last summer and am hoping they will bloom for me next spring. Here are a few of my favorite daffs. They blend well with the tulips you can see in the background.

I am sure I have a nicer shot of this waiting to be downloaded.

Can't find any mid summer pics, this was taken end of summer beginning of fall. Going to have to thin out those asters next spring or they will take over the whole bed. Love that orange coleus hiding under them.

Front beds are comming along nicely wonder how they will look next year when the perennials get a little bigger.

This is from the raised wall bed. Those pansies bloomed all summer and I loved the color with the Ginger Ale(?) Heuchera.

OMG, Holly Ann - are the blooms on The President as blue as they appear on my screen? It looks like a bright royal blue - gorgeous.

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

LOL, Sharon. I should celebrate, I finally used a big word.

Beautiful pictures Holly!

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Holly, that is all glorious. Thanks for sharing.

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

More dark purple but sometimes they photo a bit more blue when they aren't in direct sun. It's a nice clem, very hardy and good bloomer. This one is old.

Thanks everyone, I'm weeding out some of my pics. One of the issues with the computer was I had way too many pics. So I am going thru the ones I downloaded and getting rid of some. Here is a keeper, the spring show from my Wisteria. There was an arbor planed for last spring that didn't get built so hopefully we will get it in this comming spring.

Athens, PA

I have been awake since 3 am.....

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I hear ya.
I had that pattern until a few weeks ago.

Athens, PA

you are still up early though...

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

The warm night temperatures melted the majority of the snow here, thankfully. I don't love it when it gets brown at the side of the road - "New York City snow", per the song, "Bette Davis Eyes".

It's fun to look ahead so here's the vegetable garden.

Neat and tidy Pirl.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

It always starts off nice and neat but then comes the heat of summer and weeding is a chore for Mr. Tidy.

Anyone trying to stay out of the leftovers in the fridge?
I have been reading posts ,never thought of just to stay out of the kitchen.
We had a heavy frost last night and roads are slick or I would be out walking.

(Sheryl) Gainesboro, TN(Zone 6b)

That's where I need to be, out walking.

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

I am living on the leftovers, who knew cookies and chocolate candy would make an acceptable breakfast. LOL
Pirl I remember the lovely Veggie Garden pics from last summer. At the end of fall we finished up clearing the bottom of the Veggie garden and putting in the new bed. So I have a larger Veggie Garden and a new bed to look forward, too.
It is beautiful here today the sun is out and it feels so warm. It is only 39 deg outside but if the ground wasn't so wet I would be out there working.
ge, It is hard thinning the pic. I want to keep old pic even thought they may not be the best pics so I can look back and see the progression. I also took pics to use as reference as to what is planted where and then there are the nice garden shots and close ups that I want to keep. I hope to do a little more work on my Journal this winter. It is pretty meager right now. I've added a few pics as I go thru them and see something pretty and think that is a good Journal picture.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I completely understand.
As to the chocolate and cookie breakfast.I have had quiche every morning for the past 3.
Thats because by the time I get to 1 oclock I am nipping at the bananna rum cake with walnut caramel glaze that sits on the island.
My doctor is going to kill me, good thing I dont see him until Feb.

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Well we have finished off the meatballs and shrimp. Gave the cheese platter to my DIL to take along to another party. I'm going to start on the crab dip next. Back to the gym next week. LOL

Athens, PA

and here I am with the red and green hershey kisses....

Pirl, do not knock Mr. Tidy. My DH could walk past a disaster in the garden and not even see it. Your Veg garden is wonderful. The tomato plants look so healthy. I came to sweeping my crushed granite. I could not find my rake nearby one time so I used my broom. It works better.

JoAnn, that wood carving on your walkway is beautiful. Did you do that. Also, do you own the rolling landscape beyond the walk. That is also beautiful.
