Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Just sitting in my igloo over here waiting for the big thaw, it better hurry I'm getting cabin fever.JJ good chocolate haul, bar the door cause that fat butte Dixie will come and eat it all LOL. Hi Martiool, come on back we won't bite! Lynnie have you got snow yet? Soup sounds yummy and perfect for a cold day.Venice that two box deal may be the trick, think I'll try that one myself. Hey Smiley girl! Guess we are gonna have to schedule a time for everyone to get on here to play. Moon is it still 70 degrees there? That just blows my mind, and you know that doesn't take much :-)

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Venice the present I would have given DS would have been ME at the beach house when he arrived....with little extra surprise for his MIL
Both grocery stores I went into and the one is a big store only has a couple checkers and wally world only had a couple...maybe they were having a party in the back or something...My son said he went into Kohls and same thing only a couple open an people lined up. He left what he was buying and said he'd go back right before midnight.

I'll be listening Smiley...nothing like blowing the grocery money on chocolate...LOL
I didn't count the bags of chocolate chips, but thats a staple at my house and I ran out..

Better get baking and candy making..going to make the potato candy...

(Zone 5b)

yes Smiley soup for breakfast is allowed. So is pb & j sandwiches, or like yesterday fishsticks and carrots. If it's good for lunch it's good for breakfast.

All I know is I've never ate so many cho. cherries at one sitting lol. I gave the remainder of box to one neighbor yesterday and I'll be dad jim if another neighbor didn't come in the door with another batch of goodies. It's a shame we can't freeze all this stuff and make it stretch out for months. :-)

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

(Zone 5b)

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Well no Lynnie, can't even fix my hair LOL Did I do a good job on toilets?

(Zone 5b)

they're "sparkling" as the daughter said ;)

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

She is a sweet daughter appreciates good help. Gotta go tell neighbor their truck is getting ready to slide down bank into my yard. Be back later.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Love that snowman!!! and yes it is sooo big!!!

I can't believe that someone would try 3 times to make fortune cookies. I hope they had good fortunes in them.

For my package, it is much cheaper to send it USPS. Priority mail is $35.70 and if I divide it into 2 packages it would $23.35 for each!!! For UPS it would be $93.26!!! Big difference!

I am wrapping today also.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

I'm done wrapping!! yay!!

I just tried the fortune cookies twice, Venice. Couldn't stand the thought of it getting the best of me..

Off to the grocery store (( groan ))

Dronfield, United Kingdom

Good evening everyone, hope you're all having a happy sunday.

Hidey-ho what ya know? Toilet duty is a just revenge, Lynnie....grin Hope the neighbor's truck didn't slide into Flowers. Congratulations Smiley...job well done...now check the top of the linen closet...one year I hid some things that didn't get remembered until March when I was cleaning the closet...put them away for the next Christmas and darn near forgot them again...grin

UPS is just ridiculous...Venice....what cost me almost $100 at the Post office would have cost almost 3 times going UPS or Fedex.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Hi Joy. Great picture, I love blackface sheep. Hope you had a good weekend.

Dronfield, United Kingdom

Hi Moon,yes a good weekend thanks,hope you did too.These sheep are on a farm not far from where we live.Snow's covered quite a lot now and still keeps having a go at present.8.20,here and i'm just clearing away after dinner,so hopefully will be back later.I love sheep too:}

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Better get back at it.
Moon, Dixie and Lynnie hope you're having a good day.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Sounds like you are going to have a White Christmas like so many here. A tiny dusting of frost this morning, but temps are supposed to start rising again tomorrow. Got to watch some herding trials at a Renaissance Fair a couple years ago. I found it fascinating watching the handler control his dogs with nothing but a whistle and hand signals. DH wondered if perhaps after a while the sheep aren't as trained as the dogs. Grin I thoroughly enjoy watching the working dogs go through their paces. We had a dog named Abby, who was a German Shepherd/Border Collie mix. She would actually try to herd the children when they were playing in the yard. Very protective and woe be to the child that ventured too close to the street...grin

Abby and my oldest son played together the most, and if he ran from her, she would take after him, leap into the air and plant her hind feet against his back, taking him down to the ground. She loved to chase squirrels and could actually run a few feet up the tree trunk behind them....really confused the squirrels....grin. One day a squirrel only ran about 5 feet up the trunk and Abby in hot pursuit ran over him. Unfortunately the squirrel got trampled and did not survive, Abby never chased another squirrel after that. She was a lovely dog and lived just past her 14th birthday...still miss her. I think she would have adored sheep.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Good on you JJ. How productive. Guess I am going to have to find my apron...grin

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Moon my (GS) dog's name is Abby. She's a white Boxer.

Off my rear and back at it.

Dronfield, United Kingdom

Moon,Abby sounds like she was a lovely dog:},i think it's so sad that most animals lives have to be so short,compared to ours and we always miss them.I like to watch Sheep dog trials and yes,your DH may have a point about the sheep being as trained as the dogs.That type of dog has such a perfect harding instinc,though,and the sheep/children,just let themselves be herded:}
JJ,it's a little warmer here,28f,and keeps just lightly snowing on what we've already got,but heavy falls forcast for overnight!!!

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Hi Joy, Wheres the sheppards??? Yes I too am amazed at the border collies ability to follow direction and signals just like a human, I could watch them all day. JJ sounds like things are going as planned smells great! No moon, truck is in same spot, guess they figured it wasn't going anywhere, but won't surprise me if its not in my back yard tomorrow evening lol. Think some snow has melted as it got into the lower 40's today, but sure can't tell it by looking out my door.
