Relax Smiley, and enjoy not have math homework at my age....grin
Hi guys and gals. Just popped in with a quick update, power is going off and on, mostly off. Have a foot of snow now and it is still hammering down. Must be getting what JJ and Kassy had. Thanks a LOT!!! LOL Will key up tomorrow if power is on, good to hear your getting some sunshine Moon. I'm going back to my book and latern.
Stay warm Karen. Good you got your supplies laid in. Be safe and snuggle in. Jean
Flowers, I hope you can stay warm. I sure don't envy you with the heavy snow and failing electricity! You take care.
Hope Rachel is doing ok!
Beautiful picture's Jean and Dave and Venice those candleholder's look even better in that picture.
Flower's you have me beat at the moment on snow accumulation but that might change by in the morning. Forecast for here is up to 16+ inches.......it would set a record if we get all that. Right now there is only about 5 in. so time will tell for my area.
Rachel & Flowers, do you normally get snow? What do the cities do for snow removal? Are there snowplows?
Just asking from the snow capital of the east. we don't have any snow on the ground now, what is left iced over.
Hi Rachel. Hope you don't have any serious problems weather=wise either. Stay warm and be safe...Hope you have a lovely weekend despite the weather.
Strange weather patterns all over...heard it got to below thirty up near the northwest Canadian border.....wow
Thank's Jean;-) Smiley, speaking for my area, if we are forecasted for snow they go ahead and put down salt and use snow plow's as needed. We do have snow here but in the past several year's the "norm" is basically around 4-6inches if that but I will take it over ice/sleet anyday which we have had quite a bit of in the past several yrs. vs. getting snow. It's been a very long time since I have seen a foot of snow here.
I didn't know what they did in the more "southern" states. (anything below PA is southern to me) Some places mix sand with the salt, which isn't good for the sewer systems.
Up here the salt barns are full & the plow barns look like a used car lot - all ready to go, lined up like good little snowplows. They have it down to a science. They run into trouble when it gets too cold for rock salt, which is about 20°.
What am I saying?? I'm not at work anymore... after so long I guess it's hard to leave it there..
I can see by my radar map that you guys mid-south are getting all the activity.
hi all! I was at work all day, and I did get plenty of cardio. I have to get ready for the cookie swap...cookies probably froze in my car, it was in the teens, low 20's all day (I brought them in case I worked late).
I feel like taking a hot bath and a decaf cappucino lol but maybe in a few hours.
I'm getting a snow sorta thing..it looks like snow but it's 37 out so it's just melting but it'll probably be ice by morning
Hey where are you guys when I need ya??
Was asked to pick up some wine for a couple Christmas baskets.
My knowledge of wine is Boone Farms has some....
Sure hope the lady in the liquor store knew what she was talking about...Oh well know one ever says they don't like it......
sorry JJ if you need cookies I have several dozen.....oink oink *grin* yeah like these will last till xmas.
I do have my favorites wines, I started keeping a list of what I like so I can remember. What did you buy?
I don't know Lynnie she wanted Ared and a white and they had to be German Let me check the bottle huh still don't know haha...Schmitt Sohne Rheinhessen (red) Schmitt Sohne Mosel Riesling (white)
and a bottle of Jagermeilter schnapps
Close as I can come funny looking letters on the bottles....snicker..
lol sorry JJ, I only drink german whites.and I mostly prefer reds.
ok who's up?? everybody get up! the countdown is on.
Coffee's ready. Wakey wakey!
Hi All! Just popping in for a few. JJ's a good Merlot always makes a nice gift....Lynnie,you might have to extend your time at the gym today! I've been hitting the chocolate hard! Grin....Came out to check on Poo's figured I'd stop in long enough to say hi....Have office party later this eve. wake up Moon!! Open those eyes girl ,get those feet on the floor! Grin...Here Moon,I put a cup of coffee on your night stand. Guess Flowers has a hang over from diving into a box of chocolate covered cheeries! Smiley! Where ya at girl? Come on lets have breakfast, and coffee! Gotta go.....every one have a wonderful day,be safe!
Dixie send Lester over there to start crowing!
I heard this rooster... woke me up on the weekend??
My computer went pffft!! Kind of like when you're kids aren't feeling well, I knew something was wrong, it was slow, weatherbug disappeared, so I ran some utilities. Gave it some NyQuil ha! ha!
It's ok now, just took a while. Lovely little poem Lynnie.
JJ, I'd have the same problem in the liquor store. I buy white fish eye wine for cooking, that's about it. Luckily, there's a huge store here (part of the gourmet store I go to) that has people crawling all over it willing to help. Otherwise I'd be lost.
Good Morning Ladies. JJ , Jagermeister Schnapps is a liqueur, and from experience, Jagermeister tastes like Nyquil.. The Rheinehessen and the Riesling both sound good. MIL likes German wines.
Good morning Lynn and Dixie...sorry was in the shower, did hear Lester crowing...grin
Good Morning Smiley...how are ya ?
thanks Smiley
my friends & I like wine, so we tip each other off when we find a good one. I'm trying to keep a list going in one place.
Hey y'all...I found this neat sight for readers. It is informational and lists authors, their works in order of publication, when new works will be released in both hardcover and paperback and quite a bit more. A great source for keeping track of favorite authors.
http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/
Hopefully it will make up for running you all off....grin
Morning, we slept late no little ones...even the dog slept in...grin
LOL... Dixie when you guys were talking about drinking the Merlot way back when I had to look up and see what you were talking about....
Thanks moon, the wine the sales lady picked, the schnappes is the only thing I had the name for so maybe they like nyquil....I know its some high price nyqil....plus it matched the fancy little bottle and shot glass set...gotta match you know..kinda like Lynnie and her shoes...snicker,
All I can say is don't send the Budweiser/margarita girl after fancy stuff.
Got to get busy feeling much better and have way to much to get done...
You all have a great day, stay safe and warm.
Lynnie send those cookies overnight express........
Hey JJ. So glad you are feeling better...have a good day.
I'm fine Moon, thanks fer askin' how are you today?
I'm down to making fortune cookies for my baskets, then they're done! Sounds like something mom might like to do.
That is a cool link up there, gonna send it to DS.
I'm off, DH thinks I'm nuts for going out there on a Saturday, but I just turn the music up in the car and wait my turn at the red lights...
Everyone have a great day.
Oh, good wine movie: Sideways. Seen it, Lynnie?
Be careful and have a good shop...even if it is Saturday...grin
I'm with you smiley...just don't steal my parking place..
Later all
Hi everyone, hope you're all having a good Saturday. It's a cool 24f here and the light covering of snow we've had is still frozen,so any un-gritted roads and foot paths are very slippery.
Moon, that's a good website for the books,I'd not seen that one.We buy most of our books from www.Amazon.co .uk, the choice they offer is vast.
It's already almost 5pm here,but I know you will all still be busy shopping etc,so I'll be in touch later:}
Take care, especially those of you in snow and ice.
Joy
Hi Lynnie,they look interesting,what's the long one with the jelly hat on?:}
I bet it is a snowman pretzel!!! lol So cute! Oh my word, you are so creative! And you really have been baking a zillion different kinds of cookies. They look so wonderful!
I counted fifteen different things you have made! What is your count????
Hi Venice,thanks for telling me it's a snowman pretzel:},think Lynnie must've gone for a moment,hope you're well,do you have snow?
Hi Joy, Hi Venice...I think those are the cookies Lynn brought home from the swap. Someone had a lot of time on their hands...grin Chilly and sunny today, but not cold. Just a few stocking stuffer type things left to get and I am through....yeah. Always have that itch at the back of the brain that says I have forgotten something or someone...grin If so, I hope it is someone older...always hate to think I may have missed something for one of the little ones.
Hi Moon, hope you're having a good day,,just started snowing again here.Yes,I know that feeling:},when you seem to be just a bit too organised and expect to suddenly remember you missed something/someone out
Think we're sorted here apart from shopping for fresh food,such as fruit and veg,which can't be done till nearer the day:}
Hey ladies, I'm back for now. Been hunkered down as power was out all night and just came back on. Wound up with around 14" with promise of more later. Gotta check out the heating system and see if it still works, will talk to you all later this evening. Sounds like everyone is still busy buying, wrapping and baking. Take care and stay warm!
