Countdown to spring! One garden photo per day

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

Thanks Jo Ann. Lovely daff, Victor.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Thanks Polly. Spring is the neatest my beds look. After that it slowly goes to jungle by the end of the season. Your lilacs are very, very nice, I need more of them too. I specially like the bluest colored one. All I want is everything, then a little more of that. LOL
That is a really nice color in your daff pic Victor. Very pretty, maybe I need some of those too! Ha! This thread is getting dangerous.

Nice shot Victor! April is always nice, that's when my first tulips bloom. They thrive in April showers!

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

Patti, my borders are neat in spring too, and then they explode. That's what they are supposed to do, right?

The blue lilac is 'Wedgewood Blue'.

Wow just luvin all these flowers!!

The white daffodil is so cute, way better than snow for sure!
Crocus makes me smile, since I know spring is close!

Lilacs & iris---my favs---this thread is very bad for the pocketbook, but good for the soul!

I wonder if lilacs would grow here. They are lovely.

Love those, Harper! I planted some and hope they look like yours. Oh Spring hurry up!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

I really love them Joyce. I bought some crocuses in late August because I couldn't wait to see them come up. Would you believe I still haven't planted them? I'm wondering if it's too late now. Maybe I'll put them in a pot.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

chill them in the fridge and plant them in one of those pots with layers of spring bulbs! They bloom for weeks--before outdoor bulbs. Think I got the idea from Martha Stewart. I tried it one year--worked well. Think I kept the pots in the garage til they sprouted--the only problem was remembering to go out there and water them periodically.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

I think I'll do that. Thanks!

Growing up in Rochester I could not survice without lilacs, Lucy, so here they are a necessity. I guess I'd have to take allergy pills. But luckily I'm not allergic to them. I have well over 100 varieties. You'd be suffering here in spring. Jadajoy, yes, you can grow them there. In fact, isn't Pamela Harper in your area? She grows quite a few different lilacs.

Pretty crocuses! Love that iris, Lucy.

Highland Park is awesome.

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

Yes, it is! We go a few times a year. I haven't done the festival in years, but the lilacs are usually going by then anyway. I also love the Louisiana iris Friendship Garden at Highland. And aren't those azaleas something?

As a child my aunt took me every other day or so to walk the park.

They also have a fantastic collection of Japanese maples. A few of mine came from there. I was walking there one day, and a gardener was pulling up seedlings to toss, and I asked if I could take them.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I try to avoid the festival too but go as often as I can otherwise. Cool about the JMs.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I go the week before the festival ,same blooms ,not as crowded.
The Lamberton Conservatory is great anytime of year.

Polly I don't think I know Pamela Harper (dg name?), What' s a good place to buy them, lilacs?

Thankd PV. I have a few bulbs left I will try potting too. Will it work for tulips?

Got a delivery order of perennials today (thought I was ordering seeds) and now have to baby these plants all winter. But I got a salvia clevelandii that is soooo fragrant, it is filling the house with spring.

Nice shots. Love the dark iris.

I'll continue the tulip theme. 93 days left!

'Blushing Lady' Victor? One of my favs.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Pixi! I have no idea what the name of the iris is.
DD doesnt think details like that are mimportant.
The peren snaps were here when we moved in3 years ago and since we have been spreading manure and amending soil with compost the few that were here are seeding like mad.I luv it because I can transplant the colors I want where I want them.
Sorry about 2 pics Vic

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

You're forgiven, Jo. ^_^

Been praising mpix for some time now. More raves. Had a 'gallery wrap' done for my friend. I had taken a photo of his Wheaton Terrier a while back. I used the basic editing functions of ACDSee to change it to an 'oil painting'. After playing with the photo a bit more I chose the gallery wrap, where it's done on canvas and the photo wraps to the sides for a nice continuous look. It came out fantastic! I expect him to get it today. I'll let you know his reaction.

Also got a 'wall cling' of a last year's Christmas photo of my kids for my wife. It's huge and came out great. Surprised everyone when they saw it on the LR wall yesterday. My wife almost started crying.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Pretty nice ideas in there
