Alright Robin!!!!!!!
Victor, you will have to prune Boomerang continuously to keep it blooming. It's the same as Josee in that respect. I trialled it and was not terribly impressed. It's a lovely lilac, but really needs a hard pruning after blooming for rebloom. And you have to do that every three weeks or so.
Countdown to spring! One garden photo per day
Sounds like too much work for me!
I thought it was. I'd rather get the initial large bloom then several smaller ones I have to work for.
Wow!
Both beautiful!
Oh sure I miss one day and all these pretty spring pics are here waiting. Great stuff everyone.
Since I missed a lot I will post a pic with a lot in it. This has a PJM rhodo, fritillaria, solomon seal, helebore, heuchera, and forget-me-nots among other things just getting going on May 1. The red leaves are the new growth on pieris 'Mountain Fire'.
That sure does have a lot in it! Lovely! I love solomons seal. It looks so neat when it's first coming up, and then when it gets the little flowers on it. Just love it. I planted some of the giant solomons seals last year. They are supposed to reach six foot. We'll see.
Yay! Spring photos for cheeriness.
How hardy are peris? Do they need special care? sun or shade?
Wow! Did I misread that one! LOL! How hardy are what?
pieris sorry for the wrong spelling
Your mind is always working, Victor, huh?!
Maybe I should have called it andromeda. LOL Here is some info for you IrisMa. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/59720/
Don't blame me!
Pieris is very hardy.
Ha-ha-ha! It was your influence!
Hee hee. Anyway - to answer the question - it's a very dependable woody.
Sigh! G-R-O-A-N!
Of course it was Victor's influence--got nervous & missed a key. Thanks for the information. We have so many trees & shrubs thst there is not much sun. Our place was pasture land under a conservation restriction for 30 yrs, then sold in different parcels, so colonized with plants. So happy to know that it can take some shade. If a spot is very sunny, we stick an iris in it.
OMG!!
Oh, man, oh, man... : )
That's beautiful Joyce.
Interesting colors
Nice bright tulips and a double daff with a strong scent. Nice. Then a very colorful coleus to top it off. Where does the rattlesnake part come in though?
Keep these pretties coming, we are going to need them today and tomorrow.
Here is a pic with a lot of green from last june. I think I need this to combat all the white there will be in the garden for a while.
Nice garden spot. Coleii are named by comedians.Look at a website selling coleus and you'll see what I mean. Rattlesnake may well have been an inside joke.
Nice polly. So regal.
Thank you. It's always been one of my favorites.
Very pretty! Especially on a day like today!
Not poisonous, but some coleus are in the Nettles family which stings.
I'm in awe of Mohawk!
