TWO WEEKS AND A DAY TIL REINDEER PLAY

Gosh, some of you are really getting hit hard with Mother Nature! You all stay safe and drive carefully out in that "stuff". It was around 60F here today but with extremely high wind's which are suppose to continue through out the night as well with the temp's dropping.

Joy, I have alway's lived in Virginia but have been lucky enough to travel to quite a few tropical place's thus far and hope to re-visit some again as well. I can honestly say though, I would prefer living in a more tropical environment vs. here;-)

Jesup, GA

Hey Lynnie! Went over to check out the poetry. Those (peasants) are still running from Flowers over there! Poor things. Flowers havnt they been through enough!

Jesup, GA

Hello Rachel...Crazy weather huh? Stay safe, and warm. It's warm here right now. We had a lot of wind, bad lightening and rain eariler today. And then the sun came out. I believe it's supposed to rain pretty much for the rest of the week. I did the back stroke home from work..Grin..Sounds like we all better keep the snorkels, swim fins, dog sleds, rain coats, fur coats, hats ,gloves and some times shorts and t'shirts handy.Grin

Jesup, GA

I'm goin to watch Ghost Hunters. I think every one is in Snuggies....all warm and cozy...or there has been a major abduction. I will talk to my self some more tomorrow. Good night all.

Hi Dixie and I will keep the snorkel around for a while longer. My little stream that flow's through the property is now a creek.....want to come over for a swim;-) The weather is suppose to change here and even a chance of snow starting tomorrow . Oh well I need to start dragging out Christmas stuff. Ha!

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

Oh oh Rachel, what we are just getting over my be headed your way??

I am not sure Kassy, guess I had better go re-check the weather again because it change's so darn much here. We had quite a bit of rain yesterday and last night and really do not need anymore moisture for while. Is it letting up in your part of WI yet or are you suppose to get more?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Hi Ladies...almost 5 inches of rain here yesterday, in the 70's today, dropping to 40's tonight. More rain in the forecast for the rest of the week....and down in the 30's tomorrow night...sheesh

Doing well, thanks. Gearing up for more rain. Poor creek can't take much more...already flooded its' banks and almost up to the next set of banking...got close to 5 inches yesterday and more rain tomorrow....Think I may start growing webs like Dixie's Poos....grin

How is your addition shaping up? Don't think I've seen an update lately.

Keaau, HI

Take care Jean! Sounds like the neighborhood may need to get involved. Do you'se have sandbags ready to stack against the stream?
Are you away from any flood waters?

Here is Juju Girl ready to help in case of an emergency.

Beautiful picture's Dave. Thank's much for sharing them.

Jean, hoping the rain stop's for a while for you there! Sound's like your area has had enough for the moment.

Another try for Juju's photo.

Hi Rachel! How are you!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

We are in good shape here Dave. Back in 2001 when hurricane allison came through and sat and dumped a ton of rain, the water rose about 12 feet above the creek bank...flooded the bridge leading into our area, so had to boat in and out, but would have had to rise at least another 10 feet before it reached our property, and maybe another 3 or 4 before it got to the house....our house sits on top of a natural rise. Creates more of a nuisance than a threat...thank goodness, grin

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Juju has such a sweet face Dave...looks to be very gentle but shy. Hey Rachel. How are you this evening?

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Rain comes down, water is a risin’
Watch that river, water is a risin’
Rain comes down, water is a risin’
Better head for Higher Ground!

Hi Venice. How ya doing this evening?

Sound's like Venice is a good poet. I enjoyed it.

Everyone, have a sweet and restful sleep and I will catch up on the next thread;-)

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Night Rachel...stay warm and dry and have a sweet evening.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

I am better thank you for asking, Moon. Still sleep a lot.

Fixed a pot of spaghetti because I found a package of ground beef in the freezer. It had freezer burn but in a sauce I thought it would be fine. I usually don't put meat in that sauce but had to use it up. I used a lot of onion and garlic and my place smells like that! I will have some to put in the freezer. It was really good.

I still haven't repotted about 10 things and there are those clean pots all over. I only cleaned out half a closet in the kitchen.

Looked on the trade list for someone in Columbia SC that wanted a couple things I had and some things I want. I figured if I get seeds or whatever in that area, they would be good to give to Riley. Must get that done really soon!

It sounds like it is about time for you to get out your boat. I sure don't envy Kassy! This is some weather!!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

No, I didn't make that up! I recalled it being a song and I looked it up on the Internet. I just thought it might be apropriate for Moon.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Glad to hear that Venice. Sounds like things are looking up. I appreciate the song...grin

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

There are more species of Moths found in Hawai'i (800+) than any other life form, although there are only a few alien species.

This is the Hummingbird Hawk Moth, Macroglossum pyrrhostictum. A recent introduction from India which is mistaken by many to be an actual hummingbird, because of its' flight pattern.
