Sorry, my computer froze....saw all kassy's pictures and said NO WAY....grin
TWO WEEKS AND A DAY TIL REINDEER PLAY
Hi again,
Kassy,those snow photos are incredible to me,I don't think I really know what it's like to live somewhere with snow like that every winter.At least,as I once spent new year in Sweden,I have experienced deep snow :},but I wasn't having to drive to work in it at all,not to mention at night.I'm glad you're safe and sound anyway,keep taking care.Same goes for all of you with rough weather conditions.
Venice,Heucheras are very frost hardy,and the ones in my garden have bee ncovered by a layer of snow more than once and survived well.As I say though,we don't have the depth of snow here that you seem to get.
JJ,don't blame your dog for not wanting to go out :},and don't blame you for not letting little one out either,especially with the very strong ,cold wind.
Anyway,as it's almost 9.30 here,it's time to switch off and relax,been in garage and potted up Heucheras,will position them in daylight,probably next to front door.
Garage never has car in,as used as potting shed and over wintering place for frost tender plants and garden tools etc.
Before I go,Smiley,how amazingly glamourous of your parents,living in Paris in the 50s,like a film !! :}
I've never travelled outside Europe and Scand.,so listening to this group and seeing your photos makes me think I should someday,when I can afford it :}maybe when my boys are independant.
So everyone take care,snow or not.
I'll be back tomorrow
Joy
ok first silliness...My little sister is a McCoy...yes as in Hatfield's and McCoy's, does that make all her dishes McCoy's?
Ok, because I am on disability and we get a death benefits check for blake, Social security stepped in this morning....he has been moved to a residential treatment facility. also after a year of fighting with the state's attorneys office to get a restraining order against Blakes grandmother (she's 87 and lives in Iowa they didn't feel it was necessary) Social Security got one for us this morning. They are also going to file a lawsuit against the state of Iowa, Iowa DCFS, and the Judge who kept giving Blake back to her, on ours and Blakes behalf. they did however, have to sedate him this morning, he is understandably upset and this morning was confused thinking I was his mother, Kelly. but FINALLY we are getting him the help he's desperately needed since Rob got custody of him.
we knew that DCFS had 218 FOUNDED reports of Shirley (grandma) abusing him...but until this morning we only had partials of those reports, we now have them all...it is a complete miracle that this kid held onto his sanity for as long as he has. And SS was horrified that ANY judge would continually put this child back in her home, instead of sending him to his father
Those were pretty trees Kassy and get off that bridge!
Now were you stopped while snapping away or driving with your knee like my husband does to drive me crazy...
Flowers, I meant dahlias!!!
I'm getting dizzy Kassy,vertigo.....
Have a sweet night Joy. Maybe one day you can come to the US and do a road trip....north east to south east, across the south and then up through the midwest...at least hotels won't be a problem....grin
Wonderful Trina. Hopefully he can get the help he needs. And your entire family can start healing.
Finally some productive help, Thank goodness. Sorry it took a broke nose to get it Trina, but know things around the house should be a lot less stressful now.
Flowers,nearly forgot,I'm so sorry don't have pictures of Holidays in mainland Europe etc.I travelled before i had my sons and so didn't have digital in those days,now that we do,I holiday in UK,but,I hope to travel again when they're both grown up and independant.Sadly too I don't have a lot of the photos I took in those dasys either ,as I went through a divorce 6 years ago and i think ex-husband must have them :}
See you all tomorrow :}
Joy
Hi and bye for now Joy. Come for a visit any time!
Good Night Joy and before you leave just want you to know Smiley has mailed you out a nice little package from all the Gypsies. Let us know when you get it.
honestly my nose has been broken 8 times before, yes it hurts, but he reset it when he broke it...and if that's what gets him the help he needs then I will heal...at least he didn't hit one of the younger kids, or the 19 yo, who is shipping out for Afghanistan in January
Sheesh my weather bug just flashed a winter storm warning until 6 tonight and a winter storm advisory with blowing snow and freezing temp s until 12 Thursday.
What do they think its been doing all day??
Trina just a sad string of events for this time of year..but maybe Blake can get to a place of peace and happiness in his life.
Moon,that's a wonderful idea,the roadtrip:}

Can I ship myself UPS Moon...I'd go to the PO but they'd probably just loose me in transit...LOL
Hey Dixie, a little history on the bridge^_^
1.In 1979 when this bridge was under construction, I worked aboard the M/V WALKI (Finnish flag), 15400DWT. We delivered a full load of special paper to the Port of Green Bay. We were informed that we were one of the largest ocean going vessels at the time ever visiting the port. The ship was light outbound and riding high. And the safety nets under the bridge hung obviously lower than intended. I was of duty and could for once just afford to follow how we progressed through the narrow ship channel. I soon noticed that the ship was committed to pass under the bridge and that the safety net will not clear our radar. I took a few pictures and dashed into the wheelhouse before tools started to come down, men yelling and radar falling down on our fantail. Everybody laid down flat in the wheelhouse concerned that the bridge would squash us. The noise abated soon and the bridge remained in place. In the evening before passing Washington Island I noticed we made the local evening news! The "bad" ship. In 1985 I visited Bay Shipbuilding and learned they still recalled the event from 1979!
2.This Green Bay bridge is known by its infamous nickname: The Tower Drive Bridge, but is officially named the Leo Frigo Memorial Bridge. It was built in 1980 for Interstate 43 expansion to Green Bay and connection to Highway 41 on Green Bay's northwest side. The bridge is about a mile long, although most of it is supported by simpler piers, this center section is supported by an arch because it's a longer span over the Port of Green Bay shipping channel. This bridge has also gained some national infamy as suicidal jumpers use the platform to try to end their lives. I say "try to end" because statistically, only about half of them actually die. Even for those who do perish, it's likely not an instant death, more likely they drown.
I see that JJ, it has been getting deep here!
wow Kassy!
Yeah all of yall little snow bunnies come on down Moon and I will shuffle yall back and forth from my house to hers until spring.
One more fact about the bridge ..........
Raining Money
Last year, it rained money from the bridge. Yes, you read that right. Here's the incredible story:
GREEN BAY, Wis. - It was a clear morning in Green Bay - and then it began raining money. Traffic came to a halt on the congested bridge Wednesday after $20 bills from a money bag that had been accidentally dropped from an armored truck began blowing around and down to the Fox River banks below.
Commuters jumped out of cars, hopped dividers and nearly caused accidents trying to catch the flying cash, police said.
By the time officers arrived at around 7:34 a.m., some 10 minutes after being called, there was chaos on and below Leo Frigo Memorial Bridge.
"People were stuffing handfuls of money into their pockets and running back to their cars and speeding off," police Lt. John Balza said.
Of the $80,000 in the bag initially, some $72,000 was recovered, but almost none of it willingly, he said.
"No one was like, 'Oh here, I'm collecting this for police,'" Balza said. "They were basically seen jamming it in their pockets."
Police said they are not sure how the money bag fell out of the armored courier owned by Badger Armor Inc.
Police Capt. Greg Urban called on people who picked up the money to be "honest and ethical" and turn it over to police.
"Technically, it's the crime of theft, not finders keepers," he said.
alright the other 3 want to watch a movie...BBL
Beautiful picture of the bridge Kassy...Sure wish it was raining money over our way....Plenty,plenty,plenty of rain but, never rains money. Oh well I can dream. Grin
Interesting bridge info, Kassy. Thanks. Do yourself a favor and download Firefox for yourself. No more frozen Internet Explorer. I haven't had not one problem since I did that, and it will import all your bookmarks, too.

Glad something is finally happening your way Trina. Hopefully life will settle down a bit.
Sorry guys, son called and I had to pay attention. Kassy that bridge is beautiful, and would loved to have witnessed the money flying. I always wanted to go back to the old neighborhood and drop 5,10's,and 20's for all the little kids to find and sit back and watch their faces. Would probably get shot , handcuffed and put in the pokey if I did. LOL
That is very pretty JJ. Bet the lights look awsome reflecting on that snow. Make DH go out and take a picture after dark.
Yea I'm sure he will do that.
I have a couple candy canes falling over maybe he will fix them too while he's out there.
Well I let GS go out on the porch for a few minutes so now he needs hot chocolate and I need to fix supper.
Will catch you all in a while.
Later JJ...stay warm.
JJ, your poor decorations are getting buried! Maybe DH will brush some of that snow off of them while he is out there! lol
Ok JJ can't wait to see. Venice I spelled the what I call Jonacals wrong but they are actually called Narcissus and the Daffodils are another version of them just a little different. They can be planted in pots indoors and moved outdoors in spring if ya want. Here is a link to view how pretty they are. http://www.daffodildepot.com/ Also other bulbs that can be planted in pots and moved later are Hyacinth they are pretty also. The Amaryllis bulb is great and makes pretty plant and big bloom in January in pots indoors.
Hey Moon what cha doing??
stupid medicare people....I hate people
