My roses

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Not on this laptop computer. The PC is running scans and updates right now. I checked to see if Davesgarden chat room was open, but it is not at this time....8-(

Huizhou, China

Yeah. 23 at night. I ever worked in an export department of Samsung. And we were always careful about calling other custmers in other countries.

Huizhou, China

We have QQ in China. and can chat with friends freely anytime we are online.

It took me a couple days to figure out the exact date of my grandson's birth. I kept thinking he was born on the 30th of August. He was born on the 31st. Shameful when a Grandma is that confused....LOL

Here there are a number of programs/applications...Instant messaging type programs. Just don't have any set up for laptop.

Huizhou, China

That's because you live far away.

Huizhou, China

You live in Los Angeles right?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Ah, sorry for the confusion...I am in the southern part of the USA...Louisiana...the abbreviation for my state is LA, and I forget it is also the abbreviation for Los Angeles

Huizhou, China

Sure . I can see your love to them deeply.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

So, did my translation work for the Don Juan or did I say something foolish??GRIN

Huizhou, China

No. No. I just try to look for it online. I like your talking.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Thanks. There were diacritical markings that went with the translation, but I hit send before I placed them. I know in some languages, the same word has different meanings depending on the emphasis/inflection given to it. I did not want you to be searching for a "rosy haired flower friend" grin

My English is bit poor because I didn't use it for years.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Sohugosh...your English is by any measure so much better than my non-existent grasp of Chinese...traditional or simplified.

Huizhou, China

I've got it online. It's 胡安 in Chinese breed in 1958

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Too cool. I knew it was an "old" rose. I am so glad you found it. The bloom is pretty, the plant is hardy....but the fragrance is indeed divine.

Huizhou, China

You learnt Chinese before? That's great.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

No, that was meant to say, that any english you speak is much more proficient than the one or two words of Chinese I may have acquired.

Huizhou, China

Thanks for your recomending. I will try to get it later.
I feel confused that most of old Europen rose are still new or unvisible in China.

Huizhou, China

Europen roses are so hot and popular in China these days .Many people import rose plants from England and France with Big money.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I sometimes think that when it comes to plants, governments tend to try to protect native species from foreign invasives. It is true in the USA...sometimes plants from another country can eradicate a native plant, or the introduced plant can become very invasive...that was very true of the KUDZU imported into the USA to control soil erosion. The Kudzu is now very pervasive in southern states, and is very hard to control. In a single growing cycle the plant can engulf large trees and cause serious damage or death to the tree.

But, I do not understand why that would apply to cultivated plants like roses.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Sometimes the desire to own overcomes the need for thrift....grin

Huizhou, China

You are quite right! That's just popular. Comes fast , goes faster.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Sohugosh, my friend, I must bid you a good night. It is time for work for me. I hope you have a sweet night filled with fragrant dreams of beautiful roses. I have so enjoyed chatting with you today and look forward to many more.

Ti'an me'ng (sweet dreams)

Those are lovely. Are any of them the new ones you got, or are these from this year's blooms?

They were taken during from 2009to 2010. I counted them today and found that I had got over 90 kinds of roses.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Wow! How delightful, Sohugosh. I would never have the time to care for that many properly. The garden is pretty much my responsibility, my husband and grandson cut the grass and do the edging...but with the house, garden and animals (pets) and occasional part-time work, I would never be able to keep up with that many roses....guess I will just have to be content to look at your beauties....grin

Hope all is well with you. Jean/Moon

Thanks your kindness . You must have a beautiful garden I guess. Can you show some pics of your garden.
If you like I am willing to share some plants with you.

Huizhou, China
