Coffee Break #25 - First snow of the year

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - I beat Jay to the punchline!

I'm sure his wife has considered neutering now.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Just heard that five Americans who went to Pakistan for 'jihad' were turned down by al-qaeda because they lacked references! It's easier to get into a White House state dinner!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

do not pat yourself to hard the cheetah line is an old one and use been used in this incident from the beginning wide and far - one note it is properly pronounced with a boston accent:)

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Poor Tiger! Victim of his own success & a news starved media! "The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about". I'm sure it will turn around in time and he'll be fine again. He'll probably be more famous & in demand than he was before the incident!

(Maybe those WH dinner crashers had references from the Indian delegation.)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No tears from me for that moron. With so many people with real problems these days...

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

None from me either, Victor. Right now I hope he will be a has-been with a former wife who will move back to Sweden loaded with his money.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Me too.

Newport News, VA(Zone 11)

She should have stayed in Sweden and kept her hands out of his pockets. Golddigging women have been the ruin of many a man. Probably why he had to look elsewhere. That false romance loses it bloom very soon after it is discovered that the real reason some women leech onto rich men, is pure greed. If it wasnt, she wouldnt be lawyering so soon for her part of his money. Its sick.

Newport News, VA(Zone 11)

Why did he marry her? Because a man who is thinking with the wrong head is no match for a woman on a mission. Thats the truth!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Sorry, but that doesn't make sense, Joyce. He obviously likes to sow his oats and cannot turn down a woman and a bed. Marriage is a different story.

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

jada, that is a fact

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

he is an adrenaline junkie as his bungee jumpy proves - chasing women is also another adrenaline rush.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

His lawyers would have insisted on an agreement to protect their own interests and possible liabilities as well. I'm sure an arrangement was made before the scandal, 'just in case' and there was no 'innocent party' ignorant of the events which led up to the scandal.

These guys are no dummies, no one involved there is. They make millions either way.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

He could have gotten married a long time ago. He had his pick of women since before he was 20. Also was obvious back then that he would be a zillionaire so he had to know women would be after his money. No excuses.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

We must practice forgiveness and understanding! Like in the 'Merchant of Venice'!
"The quality of mercy is not strained. It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven. Upon the place beneath. It is twice blest: ..." ☺!

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Funny story Dnut!!

I think Tiger was ruined long before his marriage!! No such thing as gold digging now a days if you ask me...that's what prenups are for!!

Thomaston, CT

There have been marriages of "convenience" for a long time---I'm guessing he wanted kids for his family's sake, so marriage had to be in the picture---but some people should never marry----

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Well I think we've exhausted the Tiger subject!

Picked up my tree today.

Newport News, VA(Zone 11)

My last comments on tiger:
Just because Tiger knows golf, doesnt mean he knows anything about women. He has a lot to learn. Yes, he should have got a prenup.

Sometimes men think because they have a lot of women that it makes them the king. They don't realize that sometimes THEYare getting used.

People today get married for all the wrong reasons. Just because you say "I Do" doesnt mean you know what marrriage is about.Sometimes its just expected of you and so you do it to appease other people.( you meaning people in general)

Sometimes when a man has THAT many girlfriends, its because of underlying emotional problems. He needs therapy.

As far as feeling sorry for him, that comes with loyalty and compassion. Usually reserved for someone I know personally. Role models are just "images" of people and are not real. That face on the cheerio box was a PR creation. This is the real Tiger. Where is the loyalty now? Gone. Because people would rather believe the fairy tale images.

Thats all I am going to say about this debacle.

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

I can't forgive Tiger, and I really loved that guy. But I am constantly amazed that smart people don't think they will be caught. I live in NJ, everyone gets caught!..eventually.

But think about this ( I know it's simplistic and ridiculous as an analogy)

You see a plant, or hear about one from our esteemed DG members
You really want the plant
You know it's more expensive than you would normally spend
You have no room left in your gardens
You know it needs more care than you want to expend on a single plant

BUT YOU DESIRE IT..........
and then you hit the buy button,
Tiger just kept hitting that buy button...again and again and again and again etc ;)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wonder what his favorite plant is. ^_^

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

pussy willow? ^_^

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Oh that's good! ^_^

Edit: (forgot how to do the smile... (lol!!)

Hee hee - I was thinking that, but did not want to say it!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Burning bush?

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

OMG!!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Definitely tomatoes.

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Jersey Tomatoes??

I am not number 12!! Nor is Jen, Jan, Allison..........

Right girls?? ^_^

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

Victor, do your children help you decorate the X-mas tree? My children always say now when I asked them if the worked on their tree they say "yes mother, large decoration on the bottom, towards the smallest way on the top" ha ha ha

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, Maria, they do. I handle the lights and garland and then they help with the rest of the ornaments. This tree is nice and full so we'll get many on it. Heaviest tree I ever got.

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

That's just like we did it, my husband put up the tree, the tiny white lights, garlands and the star on top the rest was up to the children with my supervision at first when the still were too young. I have such wonderful memories.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I saw that, Joyce - thanks.

Yes, Maria - some my best memories are from Christmas. My parents never had much money but they always made Christmas special for us.

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

My parents were not reach either but far from poor but during they war there was nothing, :-((

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

We were another family that had zippo during the holidays, that may be why to this day, I appreciate the gathering of family more than anything else. Of course, we all got together on Thanksgiving and my little nephew had a cough which he gave to my Mom who is now in the hospital for pneumonia and I have the first cold in two years as does my other brother, the lad's dad. Maybe we should send gifts through the mail ;) ;)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Ugh! Hope everyone feels better.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Pneumonia is a very serious disease, wishing her the best Venu.

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Evidently it is very widespread right now. Many down and out with it, but Madre is doing well. She was even a bit cranky today so I know she is feeling much, much better. Thanks for the well wishes!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Weeze, Hope she's better soon. and no I wouldn't even consider being with Tiger, never like the guy.(probably part of it is because I HATE golf)

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

This is not the end of Tiger. He's loaded. And as long as he can hit a golf ball he will continue to earn a fortune. And the same fascination with his "problem" will be replaced with fascination with his comeback. Because we are as fascinated with sports as we are with people's personal tragedies.

But sports is an obsession I can handle. Especially when referring to the greatest sports franchise in world history: The New York Yankees!
Boy, there really are some haters out there. As much as I love teasing Red Sox fans, I don't hate them or their fans. Its a game. Played by overpaid athletes (similar to Tiger) who don't come from Boston or NY (don't come from the town they play for) and who are likely to be on the opposing team the next year. As Seinfeld said, we are basically rooting for the laundry (Except the best laundry has pinstripes!)
