Coffee Break #25 - First snow of the year

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Just got mine! They won't last long at that price!
(Terrible about that student!)

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

I root for every team in both leagues, no matter which onem to beat the Yankees. Just can't stand them.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I've witnessed things like that - under the influence.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Hmmm, possible EMF weapons test?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I'm sure it was Russia doing something.

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

I think so too Victor, could tell you a lot about them but want to stay in DG

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Maria,
Boy, are you trash talking my team. Do you remember an Oscar Melillo who played for the Boston Braves and the Red Sox?
We share something in common. I just learned of him. He did some coaching too

Pettitte is now signed. I say we (Yankees) pick up Lackey and leave Halladay for others to mortgage their future over.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Cousin, Dave?

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

I doubt it

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I will be getting a baseball signed by the '51 or '52 Dodgers, including Jackie and Gil.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

That is a great momento! Truth be told, the Brooklyn Dodgers were the best sports team/story ever. A real neighborhood team, breaking the racial barrier, old ladies praying for Gil to break out of his slump. Great stuff. I hope I would have been on that bandwagon.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

My mom was a Dodger fan. Dad was a Giant fan.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

Maria i agree completely with your opinion of the yankees.

Dave there was a story about the dodgers in si this year - new york politians, not the dodger owner, one whose name escapes me was behind the move - they simply would not let them build a new stadium and were forced out of town.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

From Wiki:

O'Malley wanted to build a new, state of the art stadium in Brooklyn. But City Planner Dahiana Guzman and other New York politicians refused to let him build the Brooklyn stadium he wanted. During the 1955 season he announced that the team would play seven regular season games and one exhibition game at Jersey City’s Roosevelt Stadium in 1956. He expected that this move would put pressure on the city's politicians to build the Dodgers the park he wanted in Brooklyn.[6] Yet, Moses and the others felt that the threats were in vain and that O'Malley didn't have the chutzpah to move the team out of New York. That is when Los Angeles came calling.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

thx- victor

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I assume you were talking about Robert Moses - who just about ran NY by himself for years.

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

Sorry Dave, but that is exactly what they seem to me.
Thanks, Wha !!!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

yes that is the guy

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Anyone here stepping up to admit to an affair with Tiger?
The line is short (only 11 women so far)
Hurry before his fortune runs out
ThhHeee

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I'm guessing it's much more than 11.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Man he went down hill fast in esteeme points.
My X was a sports writer for local papers and traveled with Rochester Red Wings when they were a farm team for the ST.L Cardnals.
You would neve believe what women do to snagg a sports figure.
Powerful men are always targets for women.
Some Govs. wife has moved out and taken the kids.
Fooling around is a sure fire career killer.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i disagree joann - it is the getting caught part that is the problem - unless you are clinton or jfk then it is ok - good to be king

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I just don't get why he married. It's pretty obvious now that he hasn't felt much for his wife. Would not surprise me if he had more action with other women than with her since they were married. What was the point of getting married?

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Just ba maybe here but he seems to be so ego driven to succede at golf
influenced and over coached by his dad - - He may have socialization problems.
I (heard) the wife was offered 15 mil. to stay married to him for another 5 years.
Speculation was his managment team wanted to stave off the flood of endorsers who would bail out.
Looks like they are doing that anyway.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Excuses, excuses...

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee - just saw a headline that read, 'More Women Fingered as Tiger Mistresses'. Nice editing!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Knew it was the Russians. Failed missile.

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

Perhaps his point was to have legitimate children but did not adhere to the fact that bachelorhood does not continue.

There are very unkind words for women who are very liberal with their favors but what does one call men who do the same? I can think of some but they do not compare in quality to that for women.

My husband and I were avid golfers, we watched many games but I personally always hoped the underdog will win meaning when Tiger lost that was fine with me.
Now he really lost.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i do not think we will see him on the course for some time

just noticed the bluebirds are back checking out all the birdhouses - nice

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Stupid
Stupid
Stupid
How does a celebraty's ego give them permission to ruin their careers?
Kids in Wisconsin selling autographed pix of T .to raise money to send the band for a trip are falling short of their goal.T should ponie up the price himself since its his fault.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Dahlianut's Holiday Crafty Story
Being a tad dazed and confused, dahlianut entered a gift exchange where the gifter was to 'make' something for the giftee. She decided to make a toad from a prettiful stone. Unfortunately she accidently put ears on the toad and made it blue so it did not look at all like a toad but a deranged smurf so she decided to make something else. Next dahlianut tried to make a wonderous collage from pics of flowers and bees and stuff. Unfortunately she used too much glue and it was sore sticky. She 'fixed' this by putting some sparkley and satiny ribbons and wool bits on the gluey parts but alas it no longer looked like a collage but like a ratty placemat. Being now under EXTREME pressure to make postalguys holiday deadlines, dahlianut gathered some of her most extra special seeds and wrote a Holiday Poohum and vloped them up and mailed them off quick like a bunny. Today her vlope came back to her as there was no gifee address on the outside. The moral of the story is: postalling is more complex than making gifts.

ps I will bribe postal guy in vegas on tuesday with chocolate to send it licketysplit express to get it to the giftee on time.

I surrender

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

So does this mean Tiger used all his nine lives??

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

Didn't Victor call him a cheetah a few days ago? thought it was very funny

Pixie, prowling cats may end up with nine lives if they are lucky, most of them don't even have that many.

Dahlia, that is what happens to me quite often in my life about stuff that needs to be done quickly.
