It has been brought to my attention that some of our feathered friends may wish to join the sulk. This may require additional rules which shall be drafted later. In the interim, I present the following option for those who wish to share it with their chickens, and who wish to make one.
This one is for the C-Enablers.

And this one is for the K-Enablers.

Any participants in this portion must send a picture of their clothed chickens.
Offical Muffler Sulking Section (and other Various Chatter)
Aye.
WELL things are progressing! Whereas I am still unclear about membership requirements, and whereas I am in a usual state of quandry and befuddlement, I hereby and therefore apply to be everything that it is permissable to apply for and humbly submit Santa as my reference
Oooh, that's a very high level application Dahlianut. The CHICKSS of course welcome you with open arms and wings.
And the next time you're talking to dearest Santa, please do remind him of my predilection for all things sheep related...
WOW I feel I have just been hit with a ton of Legal bricks.... Here Here CMoxon..
Jay we need to bone up on our whereas's......
That is cool Wren I cant wait...
WHEREAS did I mention that Animal hairs are welcome in the said NWD so by all means Wren, let the critters fur in...
Missjestr D-mail me your address If I do not redo it again I should be finished with it in a couple of days. It has 3 greens and 3 browns in it a forest camouflage. I am making it close to 3 feet and afout 5 inches wide. So hope that will be enough.
in Billys words... That would be perfect...
Don't do it Wren, don't put in Andre the Terror's hair (though indeed it may sneak in of its own)... then MsJstr will have too handy an excuse for Billy's cantankerousness....
perhaps you should double up on your own protection spells....
Wren is our first official C-Enabler, and a fast one she is too! Way to go Wren!!
It looks like It will be done tomorrow!!!! And I will take a picture of it before I box it up.
Next I will try to make a cowl.
Moxey my girl... you, my dear, are skimming ... I believe if you are studying.. you must slow down..
I am the original sulker.. and as such I sulk for a blueish purple little footie keepers.
Good luck on your exams.. really.
Has frans flouted the statutes and introduced an unauthorized object of sulkiness--or am I misreading the above?
Smell a flout from here...
It sounds as if she is attempting to establish prior claim, based on unaknowledge sulking during the previous foot adornment pout.
It won't work, Fran. Don't even try it. Whereas this Sulk is solely for scarves, now be it resolved...{{I think a wet noodle belongs in here somewhere, or mayhap a wet length of yarn}}
A wet noodle... ooo, that's harsh.
Oh dear Fran... you should have asked for a pair of chicken sweaters... no one would have to know you put your poor tired 'dogs' in them instead... Oh dear, oh dear...
off subject.. but does anyone know where to buy cute fuzzy boots... my feet are cold.. i need fuzzy boots & there are none left (cute ones) to be found within 300 miles of me. :(
hmmm....there's always online....zappos or payless....something like that. I often get boots from Lands End at their end of season sale so that I have them for the next year.
hmm.. thanks. I saw the link for zappos but i wasn't sure what it was. I knew someone on here would know something!
Oh Fran Oh Fran where has our Franny gone? O where oh were can she be??
Billy said Thank you when I told him you were almost done..
Oh, you are sooooo confused... or I am. Wren the White and the demon dog Andre are almost done with Billy's spell enhanced and conflicted camo scarf...
Fran is receiving her lashes with a wet noodle for showing her advanced age as a sulker and having the temerity to think she could sulk for booties on the NWD thread.... tsk, tsk.
booties are different than socks.... :) booties have little fake leather soles. So technically can't she sulk for them?
Well, the powers that be were being quite firm with her, so I think not. Though perhaps she was sulking for socks and not booties... foot keepers? IDK
I've checked... Rule 1, subpart A clearly states NWD, no footie keepers, booties, socks, or leg warmers. Nope, not here. Dear Fran was clearly in violation... must be her age...
I'd say something here but i do not wish to have my application for membership into the CHICKSS revoked....
I'm sorry.. in my hurry to read i didn't catch the no booties or leg wamers....
(i have nifty pattern for leg warmers if someone wants it!)
I think you have to revive the sock sulk... I myself would prefer socks, but as a mere tadpole in the pond, it seems presumptuous to even pout a tiny bit...
I think they are all deeply entangled in their NWD enabling tonight...
I'm off to dream of sparkley sheep in leg warmers and NWD...
=0)
The question is, can frans slip in under the guise of a pre-existing, unrecognised sulk? I mean we were quite diligent in identifying the legitimate sock sulkers--but does she have documentation showing that she was one of the original demi-divine pouters and that her participation was in someway overlooked?
I honestly think she is attempting to get in under the discredited "I really, really want footlets and will hold my breath until I go blue in the face (to match the sockees of my desire) and pass out" exemption. But if she can show original documentation supporting her claim of a pre-existing applicable whinge negligently overlooked by the committee, I think it must come up before the board.
To recap on recent events: dear fran is introducing questionable fishies into the mix; dear wren has cemented her place as Enabler; dear greykitten has introduced a bootie factor (which BTW I adore!) and the sockie sulk movement has been questionably revived. Also passing out and chocolate is involved. OK I re-introduced the chocolate part lest we forget that chocolate is a very important food group and if we don't eat some every day we will get very sick and proably die. This is dahlianut calling it as she sees it. Over and out.
I honestly didn't sulk for them... bc i don't sulk very well. Maybe Santa will gift her with a pair & there will be no need to sulk for her? Just a thought. I'm sure Santa can knit. he's plenty old enough to have known how & I'm sure Mrs. Claus didn't let him sit around doing nothing for the other 11 months of the year.
Who exactly is on the board?
I did dream of sparkly leg warmers on my chickens the other night.. it was an absolute nightmare! Half of them had leg warmers & the snow was falling so fast.. i couldn't knit fast enough & the roosters were threatening to come after me. But the ones with leg warmers looked so cute with those little knitted things clear up to their skinny little thighs.
speaking of which.. i had nightmares of this thread discussion last night too.. i think i need to get off here well before bedtime tonight. no more nightmares of there not being enough scarves, cowls & mufflers for everyone.
There is a nifty cowl/neck warmer in camo yarn pattern that i found. it would look very barnish in a dark brown or creamy color.
There's a board? I think there is barnboard but not a board? I think the dreaming is a not nightmarish but night mare-ish. The horseys are probably ticked off because AHEM we have not discussed horsey yarnage. If I was a horsey I would be a night mare on this thread. Cousin Nut, Miss Jestr, others with horseys need to sooooooth this out so greykyttn is not plagued by night mares.
I do not think horses look kindly on the use of "horse hair", since to the best of my knowledge it was generally used still adhering to their skins to make extremely uncomfortable, itchy, prickly horse-hair sofas.
I believe I learned this from "Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm" (the book, not the movie with the dimpled, beringleted moppet S.T.).
So the spectre of the night-mare, although real, need not concern us here.
I thought horse hair sofas were STUFFED with horse hair. We used to have one that looked as if that was what was inside.
Yes, they were stuffed with the manes and tails--but it was fashionable to use the skin to cover the cushions.....and you could get anthrax from horse hair used to reinforce the plaster on walls!
A near perfect list of animal adjectives:

Easy for you to say dear Catscan since you are not being haunted by the night mares. Dear greykyttn seems to be stampeded by night mares and methinks that the horsey peoples can fix that by maybe just braiding their tails or manes or something. I think 'braiding' horsey hair might acutally count as knitting yarnage. Of course I believe that seeing a zebra counts for something too. These are the ideas that I ponder and must put forth in all practicality and sensicality and but mostly cuz its the tradition of the nut family.
Nuts! My great grandfather was the first one to successfully hybridize a zebra and a Tennessee Walker--we have the stationary to prove it!
So maybe we are related after all?
Extra credit for braiding zebra hair!
Cousin Grownut, official keeper of the Nut Family Tree, do you think that Catscan might be a nut? Catscan secretly methinks we are related because of the silvery/sparkley aura thing.
Whooohooo! Camelopardiline! That's pertaining to giraffes! Amazing!
Yes, Dahlianut, chocolate is definitely one of the elements necessary to life on this planet. But I had no idea that horses actually had to be sacrificed for horsehair sofas; I too thought they merely contributed tail and mane hair to the cause.
Poor Kyttyn! Have you tried hot milk and honey before beddie-bye? Perchance if you tried reading an encyclopedia before turning in, or more appropriately a History of Nuts? Something dull and soothing - although come to think of it, I don't know how dull a history which included Grow and Dahlia would be.
