I see it as a useful adjunct to the Thursday Next tomes... I have just tonight found out why there are no u's in so many of our words that have u's in them across the Pond. Dnut, are you aware of these excellent resources of the use of the language?
OH... and I completely and utterly, forever until my next re-incarnation, eschew knitted fanny packs and crocheted bikinis...

Offical Muffler Sulking Section (and other Various Chatter)
Catscan, I only require 1 copy, but if you send 6, I will donate them to the law library, the Iowa State Bar Association, and other worthy local causes. Because clearly I must be one of the recipients...
Jay's recipe is beginning to sound like an excellent egg user.
I believe we should have a stickied thread of eggcellent recipes that can be forever immortalized on DG, to help future generations of "those who own an oversupply of chickens"
I am wondering if the writing of this contract will sufice for your final?
Unfortunately the finals are in Torts (not to be confused with tortes) and in Evidence, not Contracts. Sigh.
I Catscan of Lodi, hereby append, attach and otherwise encumber the ChickSS Official Sulkers Role in the guise of an Enabler-K (one who will knit a neck ornamentation, functional or decorative, or both, while not necessarily requiring one...unless the extreme piteousness of my condition generates a "pity muffler"--any colour but orange--although burnt orange is acceptable--sans fringe).
Oh, members should also make known any allergies, such as to wool, angora, mohair, acrylic, llama, fruit bat, alpaca, bamboo, etc.
Oh my, certainly every law school should have several copies! I can see a potential shortage already, as they get 're-assigned' (because of course lawyers would NEVER steal) and empty spots are left in academic libraries across the country...
this may even displace 'Twilight' on the best seller list!
There don't seem to be many Whereas's in that document... to be official, isn't there a quota of Whereas's? Everything I've ever signed in front of a notorious has had a plethora of whereas's.
On with the P-thud Pie...
In a medium bowl, cream...
1/3 C. butter
3/4 C. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
til light and fluffy. Beat in...
1/4 C. unsweetened cocoa powder
Add espresso and egg mixture, mixing in 1/3 at a time, beating after each addition until smooth.
Hmmm-hmmm-hmmm....
I should like to point out that fruit bad wool is currently illegal under NAFTA (National Announcement of Fruit-Bat transmitted Ailments), due to the fear of importing the deadly Nipah Virus.
Well, yes, but some of us enlightened sorts might have stashes of fruit-bat fiber pre-dating the existing ban, therefore exempt from all NAFTA regulations.
Oh my Dahlianut, that looks positively delicious and entirely non calorific. Yes, very good.
Note to self: Add more whereas clauses in next edition for the pacification of certain members.
I, have never worn, and will never wear crocheted or knitted bikinis or fanny packs nor would I ever support anyone who did.
I am allergic to wheat so please don't knit me a wheat scarf...or if you do, remind me not to eat it.
Colourless is best, naturally colourless is even better. My only other request is that it be warm....which I guess omits the wheat scarf anyway :-)
Good point dear Claire. I will definitely need to know about sparkley allergies and OH also about winter fairy allergies cuz they will be helping me. ps LaggyishishSonias are totally non-calorific. They are in the dairy food group which contains the very important calcium factor. The calcium factor cancels out all related calories. This is why cows will eventually rule the world.
Oh, and I'm also sulking for a copy of "Dictionary of the Pseudo-English Language According to the Wisdom of the Nut" one can never have too many nutty dictations...
batflower - black is a color... :) i will uphold that fact as long as i get fussed at for not wearing enough color. I switched up & added dark grays into my wardrobe.. didn't please the ones who were fussing at me. I now add bits of bright pinks, dark plums, cobalts & aquas on occasion. for the most part my wardrobe is still "colorless" as I too was in my teens in the 90's. I am playing with the idea of dying my hair.. dark brown with peekaboo pink pieces. :) or maybe i'll just dye it black again.
Why, those look downright healthy! They should definitely be included. =0)
To the above mixture (eggs, espresso pwdr., butter, sugar, etc) stir in...
1 C. light corn syrup.
This mixture will be custard-like and thick (oh, yummy, yummy)
Pour mixture slowly over the Pe*** in the shell, submerging any floaters. Let stand 2-3 minutes, pierce any remaining bubbles with a toothpick. Bake in 400º F pre-heated oven 10 minutes, reduce to 350º F and bake 33-37 minutes longer (until edges are cracked and risen, but center still quivers slightly when pie is gently shaken [really, it says that!]) Do not overbake!!! [It says that, too] If pie begins to brown excessively, cover top lightly with foil.
There ya go CMoxon... for services rendered... one hot ooey-gooey Chocolate Espresso Pecan Pie!!!
{Somebody catch her}
o wow.. somebody catch me! I love pecan pie & you just added chocolate too it! Took me a minute to figure out what you guys were talking about. I will be making that tomorrow since it is way too late tonight to attempt it.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
THUD...
(I quiver slightly too when gently shaken. Maybe a bit more than slightly. This is a result of eating too many things like pe.....errrr.....ummmm...never mind)
Are we supposed to eat quivers? Sounds TRES delightful and droolful but I just want to be sure that I'm doing it right by eating the quivers.
Jay's recipes are obviously designed to help us gain the healthful 20 pound winter insulation required for optimal seasonal happiness.
Nature knows best.
So are those individual portion LagishishSonia? Or would one be required to share?
I did notice a certain lightness in the "where as" count, myself.
Now, should I pre-order additional copies of the Pseudo-Englisharian for the libraries of our Antipodean cousins....or are they already on a such a distinct evolutionary track that it would be considered corrupting?

I also will be attempting to make this, sounds soooo good!!!
Greykyttyn, sure blacks and shades of gray are colours, just look at a black and white movie, you can see the grass is green even thogh its gray, and the sky is still blue....a colourful black and white world. Oh, and hair never counts in a colourless world, I bet pink and dark brown would look lovely. Mine is blond with peekaboo bright, bright red :-)
{{{Moxon, being dizzy and laying on the floor after her brief loss of composure at the mention of the vexatious nut, is seeing sparkly bits in the air and thinks sparkly is really a metaphor for intelligence and decides that all her clothes should hereinafter be sparkly}}}
{{{She also wonders what a "Peudo" is....}}}
I've checked and CMoxon has a sweet gooey smile on her face, so everything's copascetic with her.
It is for this quivering phenomena that I have foresworn knitted or crocheted bikinis... or sewn for that matter.
Whereas... there is an insufficiency of whereas's
Whereas... the legal authority is unavailable
Whereas... the relevant parties have noticed said insufficiency of whereas's
Therefore we the relevant party hereby strew whereas's with wild and delirious abandon, interjecting them at every available opportunity to reduce possible deleterious effects on Rules of the ChickenHeads Insisting on Crocheted and Knitted Scarves Sulk.
Whereas this document is signed and stamped before me, a certified member of the Notorious Board...
=0) Jay
Batflower - i am afraid to go blonde.. bleaching my naturally dark redish brown hair scares me to death. I'm afraid it would never come back or I'd look like a skunk as it grew out. I temp dyed it black about 8 weeks ago. Takes forever to get that washed out too.
Those are individual LagishishSonias Catscan. I used to make a HUMUNGOUS LagishishSonia but it was overwhelming so I got 'boats' Thus we have LagishishSonias dans Boats. One boat per tummy otherwise you will blow up. LagishishSonia is not for the light-hearted; it is substantial refuelling for peoples like dahlianut who mittenclad shovelled her way to the recycling bin today at -19/-30 wind chill. Ladies and gentlemen I highly recommend LagishishSonias for the time of the cold and the dark.
Huh? Peudo? What are you taking about, Moxon? Did you hit your head when you fell?
Have you thought about getting a P-thud alert dog? Then you will have time to lie down or find a softer landing place before the attack.
{{{Dahlia! You're not providing sufficient cover...she saw the "Peudo"!}}}

Grey - I looked like a skunk when the black grew out of my naturally blond hair....It looked hilarious. I don't recommend you try it. Only skunks are cute looking like skunks

Whereas Dnut, hereafter referred to as the claimant, is in danger of turning sideways and disappearing due to extreme exertions...
Whereas there are lovely, delicious, and VERY healthy LagishishSonias hot and available...
Whereas it can be followed by ooey-gooey Chocolate Espresso P***** P**...
Therefore the claimant is instructed to CHOW DOWN post haste.
Notoriously...
Jay
Indubiously seconded and chowing has commenced.
A puedo is a type of dog, with no undercoat and a curly top coat necessitating constant upkeep. It comes in 4 sizes... teacup, quart measure, 5 gallon, and barrel.
They are very popular with the primp and fuss crowd.
I don't know why it ended up in this conversation.... Catscan's brain must have been addled by the overpowering aroma wafting from the oven...
Yeah, that's it.
Whereas Dahlianut has had a flock of skunks personally tended by her in her own backyard, and further whereas said skunks were interminably cute, Dahlianut is quite permitted to testify regarding skunk cuteness.
Catscan, do not think you can get past me with your underhanded attempt at hiding your own typo. For shame...
I thought that was a Puli...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puli
oof...
Oh Grow! You've been missin' out...
No, sillyness, a Puli is a livestock guarding dog, rather largish, and more of the Rastah family than the Primp and Fuss family.
Poor Catscan cannot long bear the vapours redolent of P-thud and LagishishSonia wafting from the ovens of others....
She is currently roasting plain (Oh so plain!) chicken thighs (avert your beady gallinine eyes my darlings) for her DH who is in the malevolent grip of "my body is a temple" pure foodism.
Batflower - I'm not sure if I am brave enough.. we will see. The white hairs that are showing up from stress are pushing the idea. need to hide those white hairs!
I'm sitting here eating my dessert.. graham crackers with homemade butter cream icing sandwiches & dreaming of that chocolate pie... sure doesn't make my icing taste any better...
LGD's... is that really one of them? If so I"ll google it. trying to find everything out i can on them.. i'd really like to own one at some point.
Grow has merely been flummoxed and watching silently...
Grow! Speak up grow!
