TWENTY-TWO DAYS AND COUNTING-shop, Gypsies, shop

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Smiley your cheesy LOL Yes Joy I was serious, and if you think of anything else here that you would like to try will send that too. Thanks Smiley but think you have enough going on at work so will just send it from here from all her gypsi friends. The candy may be melted when it gets there Joy so just put it in the fridge and let it get solid again and then eat, should be fine. Oh, on the heating source thing, we have several souces to choose from, but all are expensive to use. Electric Heat with central air, some burn wood in wood stoves, Gas furnaces or Kerosene furnaces to name a few. I have an assortment in case one goes out lol. My favorite is the gas fire logs love to look at the fire in the fireplace but don't like to haul wood :-)

Another tip from me
Did you know that Walmart, kmart and some of the other stores will let you have the hangers the clothes are on if you ask?

Some stores even have a garbage can they throw them in and you can take what you want for free.

Thats where I get all my hangers, even the ones that have clips on them for pants.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Good deal JJ, a nice way to replace all the metal ones for those that still use them. Did ya get mine wrapped yet? I would like a different color this year please.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

What else can I send her girls? Maybe pretzels or donuts, umm I've got some chocolate covered cherries yeaa.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Yes I did flowers.
Dixie was running a special and you know how I like a bargain!
Hope the flies don't give it away :)

Better check and make sure you can send all that over there.
I know some countries have restrictions on what can come in.

Might want to double check the shipping too. I send things for friend to Germany and its cheaper to put it in bubble envelope than box and the flat rate boxes don't ship over there for the same price. Thought I was smart and got a flat rate box was 10.95 here and would have been over $50 to Germany.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Venice guess what I found today?
A pkg of four oclock seeds. They are on the way to Indiana.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Good Grief, may have to settle for computer pictures joy and our word for it lol Venice that is a great picture of it ;you did good. Flat rate boxes here is 5 $ but think that is only to ship inside the United States.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Oh by the way think I'll pass on the gift this year JJ but preciate the offer LOL

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

This was the bigger box. We have one for $4.80.

Just sent a christmas star over there in bubble envie and think it was about $4. I think she said as long as I kept it under (4 lbs ?)it was about that.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Sorry flowers its already wrapped with your name an no re-gifting.
Remember its the thought and I thought I was helping .
I thought flowers liked fertilizer. feeling bad now :(

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Well you would think it would be about the same to UK as it would be to Germany

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

No JJ I will absolutely love it and take a sniff every day lol

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I would think so.

edited to add: talking about postage here and not the sniffing...lol

Will be out and about tomorrow and Friday so will run by PO and check.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I had a client once who had me send a Christmas pkg to Canada and ended up costing around $5 but the toy she had in it only cost about $2.

Didn't have the heart to tell her so I paid for it and told her it cost like $1.50.

Sometimes that shipping is to high.

Keaau, HI

Good day everyone! Aloha aku!

Not sure if I caught all of Trina's plants but here is what I saw:

The new Philodendron looks like Philodendron xanadu.

Hawaiian Cotton is Gossypium tomentosum; known as Ma'o in Hawai'i.

Milo is Thespesia populnea, a member of the Hibiscus Family. Known as the Portia Tree in other parts of the world.

Red Strawberry Guava is Psidium cattleianum var. cattleianum.
Yellow Strawberry Guava is Psidium cattleianum var. lucidum.

I'm not familiar with "Hawaiian Sunset Vine" (Stictocardia) but it is not a Hawaiian plant.

aaah, finally, a voice of reason ;)

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Mostly rain today Dave. Got a scare, There was a tornado warning out for Dixies area in Georgia but not sure if it hit exactly where she is. Last post she said heavy lightening had set in. Are you almost done with the addition?

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

These girls are biting at the bits wanting to ask you plant questions Dave. Venice got a new peach something plant and Trina got more seeds I think lol. I''ll back out and let them have it and give yall some educational time to help keep the mind sharp and who knows I might learn a big name to boot lol Good to see ya back we need more pictures.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

I just counted my pots. I have 86 pots and 3 flats of 48 each. That doesn't count the pots bigger than 1/2 gallon. I have them spread out all over because either they got caught in the rain or they weren't thoroughly dry when I brought them in.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

When they dry Venice, put them in big trash bags and tie them so they won't get dirty again. Then you can put them back out in your storage area.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Ladies, you would choke if I told you what we spend in postage with DD and family in Australia. There are sometimes when clerk gives me the total that I choke...grin

JJs I am sorry, I will be happy to wrap packages for you. I worked in a dept store in HS and college and spent Christmas wrapping gifts for folks...I rather enjoy it.

Have a sweet evening Joy..I would wrap for you too...grin

Yup Smiley...and don't you love the waist wallet hiding under my shirt....told daughter it makes you look like you are smuggling sausages...lol

Hiya Dave. Know you will be glad to get back to your building project.

Flowers, lemme know if you want, I have a postage credit and would be happy to use it for Joy. Just D-mail me.

Dixie...good thoughts going to you and the Poos...hope all is okay.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Flowers, great idea!! Thanks! I am going to leave them out for a least a few days to be sure they are really dry.

You know, I am thinking about throwing out my old clay pots, (4-5) 8" ones, and one 10" that has repair crack and one that needs repair. I don't have clamps so I used that stick packing tape. Last year I spent a lot of time messing around cleaning them. Soaking them in vinegar and again, scrubbing them, then baking them. It just take so much vinegar and time to get all of that lime off.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

I have a lot of very heavy stuff to send to SC. And I thought that would be bad! Moon I will think about you when I drop over and see how much postage I will have to pay.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

JJ, what color are those 4:00's?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Venice, break the damaged clay pots up to use as drainage hole covers for the other pots....recycle, reuse....grin

(Zone 5b)

Moon are you really in that picture? I want to see you! Which one are you?

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Don't know venice. Sorry
Was cleaning out my corner cabinet and found them and a pkg of impatients.

Was headed to post office to mail pkgs for friend so sent them to you before I lost them again.
Don't even know how old they are , but not as old as kassy's turnip (?) seeds that were over nine yrs old.

I think the GS brought these home from school in the spring.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Venice you might be better off sending your things in the flat rate boxes if it is really heavy.
