Hehehe LK!!! I can only wear Sketchers.
That's too bad for your WM to stop selling the only good brand. Perhaps you can order online, since their sizes are pretty standard.
LK, it should be Paltop!! Admit it now, you are lost without it;)

morning, i'm making out a grocery list. my big weekly outing today. michael is coming on his lunch hour to take me.
my daughter miscarried last nite, so i didn't get much sleep
So sorry to read that Sis.
it must be GOD will.
sis, please don't pick on my sewing skill. i might get a complex. it might look like i was on the bailey's while sewing but so what
You're finally admitting that you ain't perfect!! It's not the Bailey's!!
i'm not?
Lolol...neither am I... so you're not alone!!
Time to go to town.. catch you before the game!
Kathy, so sorry to hear about your daughter. Is she OK? Must be heartbrokern, but there is a reason for everything!
Yeah, can't live without the computers, What would we do. More house work? NOPE! LOL!
You're both perfect in my eyes!!!
Here I am! Thanks for all your good wishes for Bill's brother. They have him on an intravenous antibiotic for 2 weeks, but they allowed him to leave the hospital cause his wife is a nurse and can change the bags out. He's really had it with the stupid kidney stone and he still has that stone!
Got a call from my folks this morning and they said my brother is in the hospital in Okeechobee. At first they thought he had that flesh eating virus, but now the Dr. thinks it is shingles instead. They admitted him last night. He doesn't think it's shingles cause he said he didn't have any pain. I reminded my mom that when she first got them they weren't painful either, but the pain DID come later!
I'm trying to get in the Christmas spirit. I have the tree up, but not decorated. I got several orders for candy so that is on my agenda for today. I've been enjoying the Christmas shows on TV...Rachel Ray, Martha Stewart and a couple garden decorating ones.
Lisa had to call 911 for Jordyn yesterday. She woke to a sugar count of 53. Lisa force fed her glucose tabs and some glucose gel and by the time she got to the living room (after falling out of bed and then hitting the hallway wall) it was up to 75. By the time the paramedics got there it was up to 101. She felt well enough to go to school (she had to go at least a half day if she wanted to compete in cheer competition today) and when she called Lisa at lunchtime to report her numbers, it was 313. Poor kid. Probably all that glucose stuff made it jump that high. Lisa checked her pump to make sure it was working okay, and it was. I asked what she thought had made it drop like that and she said stress and exhaustion. They had been practicing for the competition every night after school for 3 hours. Then after she got home, ate, did homework and talked on the phone or text, she just wasn't getting enough rest. I imagine Lisa will have something to say about all that now!
My mom's best friend died in California. She's handling it very well. Guess she's getting used to it. :o( Her friend was about 5'7" and had gotten down to about 87 pounds. She wasn't having a good quality of life for sure. Then one of her other friends (around 80 y/o) tried to commit suicide. She told another friend that her husband had been gone for 20 years and she just didn't want to live anymore without him. (Don't get any ideas, Marion.....) She took a bunch of pills, but someone found her before it was too late. Then she wouldn't go to the hospital. Her son is coming in to town and she said she didn't want him here. Probably cause he'll probably institutionalize her.
Bertie and I went to a concert (1 hour) at a church yesterday. It was a brass ensemble and it was really good. They provide cookies and drinks (coffee, tea, hot chocolate) and it's from 12:00 to 1:00. Some people were eating their lunch. They had several Christmas numbers and I enjoyed it so much. They played the Pink Panther theme, too. Fun.... They have a concert the first Friday of every month and next month it is a honky tonk piano player. Should be good. This is the first time we've gone, but I think we'll be going back...it's free too, that's always good!
I couldn't believe that southern Texas got snow....we haven't even had a decent snow yet (NOT that I'm complaining, mind you)!
Okay, haven't been on in a couple days and have some major reading to do....love yous guys..... ;o)
This is my 3rd Dell and I've never had a problem, two laptops and this desktop. I always buy from Dell.
LK I didn't know you had a muscle car? We're looking at Camaro's want one in two years when we get the truck paid off.
I'm so sorry to hear your daughter miscarried. God works in mysterious ways.
Computers, texting, cell phones in general, email, my goodness! Internet...
Waving to Everyone!!
I got the news late last night, the doctor has agreed to do the surgery!! He did a procedure and sent her home with some things to think about, just facts of the other nerves that connects to this one, and the fact it may not work. She is far from healed from the reconstruction surgery and he obviously can't do anything until she heals from that, even though she feels differently lol. He gave her an appointment 6 weeks out so they are on their way home.
Wow Joyce you've had a lot on your plate, so sorry to hear about mom's best friend. Glad Bill's brother is doing alright, I'm praying for your brother, hopefully it's Shingles and not the flesh eating virus, that's scary. With cheer leading competition out of the way thing should slow down for her, or not? Glad you had a good time at the concert, I love doing things like that.
Well, their competition squad competes in every one that they can, so not sure if that's it for the season or not. She just loves it though, so she'll be doing it as long as it's available.
Thanks for all the well wishes, Crissy....
Hey Jopyce, sorry to hear so much going on in your life, and for your family! Hope everyone gets better soon.
Crissy, I bought the Mustang earlier this year in January. I love it. it is a dark purple, and came from the dealership all modified. it is a Regency custom Mustang. And she goes...
Crissy, hope your Mom canget the surgery she needs.
well, caught up on reading great news, and the sad news. It's after five, can I start passing the Baileys? but I want to mix it with hot chocolate.
drizzling spitting rain and chilly. good day to sit with cup of tea. So I went through the old newspapers cutting recipes and coupons. Puttered in yard, cleaning up. We went to pick up the tree, but discovered I'd failed to tell them which day, so they went to the field and cut it while we waited. can't say it isn't fresh! we stopped for groceries. Then we took folding chairs over for DD Bevin's party tonight.
We heard from DS Danny, up in Queens!!! He'd smashed his phone again, 2.5 months ago and just now got it replaced. says he's happy, working 3 jobs but just got fired from one because he's always late to work. (reckon he'll ever learn chronic late=fired?) He's finally given me an address. thank goodness. I was getting ready to call the police!
Jaye, Randall says "well done" on your pun. Loved it! got him chuckling good.
Kathy, am very sorry for your DD. Give her hugs from all of us.
LK - dmail for ya.
Just wanted to pop in and let you all know we are okay.. better actually but very busy.. Last night the kids were in bed and we were watching a movie when soone knocked on the door.. No one evr comes here after 830 but it was TRINA and her mom.. She wanted to stay the night and we are thrilled.. So we haveher and Maxs little brother (tonys age ) for the weekend..
Kinda crazy but will read up later tonight after everyone is down for the night..
Huggs
Donna
UH OH - THERE'S TROUBLE HERE.
New kitten Faith has decided "her chair" is Randall's chair at the dinner table. He claimed that chair when he got the birdfeeder - best place to watch the birds at the feeder. Faith, who has now learned not to get on the table, has figured it out and can be found sleeping much of the day in HIS chair! And she ignors him when he tells her to move.
Randall's growling.....
LOL
Oh my.... this game is HOT!!!! I know our sister Kathy's biting her nails right now!
Cookie, nothing that fancy at our country church. Tomorrow, just a little concert with one c'try singer and some finger food at the church hall. Anytime to hear others singing praises to Him, is a good time!
Sorry I've misunderstood it wasn't Lisa but Jordyn. I do hope she's back on track with her bg now.
Not for us to judge why some folks chose suicide. Life is short anyway. But I do hope when I get that depress, He'll intervene..
Crissy, Kel's adamant no Dell. Me, I had worked with them... and as long as it's not an off brand..
We'll keep praying for your mum, and I'm thankful you're keeping us posted on her trials.
Donna, you know you're loved when Trina on her own, wants to spend some time with you and Max :D Will she be staying there till Christmas? I can hear the microwave going on constantly now!! Hmm.....I might send you a bottle of Bailey's!!
Bonnie, why Queens??? I'd be scared to be living in that notorious town! Does your DS have a handgun? I'd be freshening up on my karate kicks!!!
Lol Bonnie!!! Randall shouldn't be growling..I bet he didn't politely ask Faith to scoot over.. like I do with Lola, when I want my recliner back!! "Please" always work even with the furbabies!!! If that don't work.. try craiglist for another dining chair!! ROFL!!!! Too funny!!!
So far Bama's ahead.
Jaye, he says he had the same problem with his cat Wellington. says, back when he was plump she learned if he wanted to sit, he sat. whether she moved was up to her. It only took twice and she always moved. well, he's plump again, and the kitten, who has been sat on once, is learning, but rather slowly....
Queens is where he had friends to move in with. no handguns that I know about, but he did say he's working with a new "dojo" (?) and practicing kickboxing. Raleigh is as big a city as I'd want to live in, and I have never lived in closer that its 'burbs. being in a place like NYC or Queens? NO WAY for me.
Haven't been on much lately...lots of things going on and have been very busy. Mom's car had serious issues and we had to get her a new car.....we finally came up with this beautiful Camry! She is happy and so am I as I end up driving her car more than she does.
Has been nasty cold here...was 18* when we got up this morning. They say we may even get a dusting of snow at some point this week.
That's wonderful news indeed, Trisha. Those Toyotas are still made with quality in mind. I know your mum's enjoying you chauffering her around!
Off to bed. I'll be all day at church tomorrow.
Stay warm ladies.
sweet dreams, sweet sisters. I'm to bed too.
I'm back from Edmonton - Got there safely, and home safely too.
Saw about 40 cars in the ditch, Plus 4 18-wheelers that were jack-knifed......
Good thing Bob had that 1000 lb metal block in his truck bed, and the diesel engine is heavier than most engines.
We were so stable it was great!
Had a great party at the Country Club - lovely people, and the hotel was very nice, too.
Tried calling Jaye, but first ringing, then busy signal....... guess she's gone to bed.
Will chat at you tomorrow....... gotta catch up on things!

Susan do take care, just saw the weather report for your area. Stay safe, Stay warm! We may get a little spritz of snow here, but nothing like yours!
Dusty just got back from Atlanta...please keep Aaron in your prayers, his situation is not good...she gives a full update on the prayer thread so I won't repeat it all here.
Morning everyone!
Coffee is on!
morning, good news=bama won!
bad news got to 27 last nite, brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Morning my sistah.....
hey sissy, i'm making brownies. want some?
Yes, ma'am....I made toffee with dark chocolate...want some???
Morning!! I can't remember what I just read! LOL
Susan, didn't you just get a Camry for your mom this weekend too, or am I imagining things?
I'll take some toffee please?
Sounds really good! Are you still taking orders for candy?
This message was edited Dec 6, 2009 10:29 AM
Hi LK! Yes, still making and selling candy. Business is really picking up right now. The bags really make nice gifts for neighbors, mailmen, paperboys..well, you get the idea! ^_^
i dont like toffee thank you
gonna make chocolate truffles, chocolate covered cherries and peanutbutter cups
Oooooo those all sound good! Is it hard to make the truffles? Recipe, please....
truffles are easy
8 ounces semi-sweet chocolatecut in pieces
1/2 cup whipping cream
1 tspn vanilla extract
truffle coatings-
cocoa powder
finely chopped walnuts
toasted coconut
1=in small heavy saucepan bring heavy cream to a simmer
2=place chocolate is a separate bowl. pour the cream over the chocolate, add vanilla, aloow to stand a few minutes, then stir till smoth
3= allow to cool, then place in fridge for 2 hours. takr a teaspoon and roll in your hands into balls. place on baking sheet lined with parchment and refridgerate over nite.
4=roll in your prefered topping, eat or store in fridge
Wow! I think I can handle that!
Man it all sounds good. Mmmmmmm....
it's really very simple. even i can make them
Afternoon Ladies..
All this baking of sweet sounds sooo good. I normally make the buckeyes but thats about it around the holidays. I havent really been a big fan of toffee but Max and the kids like it a god bit. I guess one could say Im a fudge and chocolate kinda girl..
Watched bits of the game last night and was pulling for Bama as well. I guess being a buckeye in gator country for so long made me just despise them even more.. My mom called this morning yelling go bama.. LOL
Jaye Trina is going home tonight. Unfortunately she goes to a very different school district but she knows she is welcome anytime.. Max was beaming that she showed up.. Such a proud dad.. Was good to see him smiling that big again as all this mess with them has really had him down..
I got our christmas card from my mom last night and was ordered to go shopping and get wrapping.. She said it was easier than her shopping nd shipping everything up.. So last night Trina went with me to do a bit of Christmas shopping. We spent lmost 2 hours in walmart and ended up getting a few things we really needed. Boots for tony, tristen and me.. Socks for max, little pet sho pcritters for risten, smithsonian night at the museum dvd for tony and a few stocking stuffers as well. All getting wrapped up under the tree, may not be much more than clothing but they will be happy none the less...
When we headed out I ended up digging through the closet and giving Trina one of Maxs coats because she didnt have one or gloves,, grrrr she said her and her sister were sharing and old coat.. I ws so glad Max didnt lose it but while we were out shopping I had her pick out a coat, hat and gloves.. Told her they were HERS ONLY and if Teara ws here I would have picked her up one too but Im not rewarding her attitude and staying away, I feel bad but on the same hand she has decided to stay away not us.. Trina looks like a marshmellow now... LOL White everything with a pretty light blue accents on the coat and luckily they were descently priced too as a left over from black friday..
Anywho well Max is due back with the girls anytime from visiting with grandma and grandpa (I have Tony and Maxs lil brother) so I better get back to straightening up..
Huggs to you all
Donnna
'twasn't this Susan that bought her mom a Camry....
'twas this Susan that made it safe & sound in Edmonton, then back again last night.
Had a good time @ the party, hotel was lovely, people were charming.
40 cars in the ditch on the way, and 4 18-wheelers were jack-knifed......
Because we had 1000 lbs of metal block in the truck bed, and a diesel engine is so heavy, we didn't slip or slide anywhere. Bob put on his winter driving goggles and was able to see pretty well in the white-outs ^_^ Took us a long time, but we got there! Usually a 2 1/2 hr trip, but took us 4 1/2 hrs (plus the time we were lost, looking for the hotel). No taxis to be had - it was going to be 4-6 hrs to get one. We drove to the party from our hotel.
Anyway - time to get busy today. Got a reprieve from choir practice after church, cuz it's so blown in some didn't come to church (small congregation & choir today).
