How did they get your debit card--was it stolen?? The bank should refund your money back into your account.

Donna - Bella looks so cute in the gazebo all dressed up! Glad you are on the mend.

Cindy--the candles sound so good!!! Bet they smell wonderful. One day I may try my hand at candle making. Don't have a clue where to start tho!!

LK--I have dug up alot of my brugs and have them potted up in the GH--did not cut them back this year. Some that are still in the ground I may do cutting on--they are all named brugs with lost tags!!!! GRRR Donna--you know the ones I got from the other house! If you want some of those I will do cuttings. The ones still at Bobby's are over 12' tall now!!! I may take some cuttings of those and do a bucket of brugs for the winter with any I don't find homes for.

Well gotta get some dinner started--I want to get an early nite to bed and try to shake a cold that is coming on. It is going to be cold in the morning, so gotta bundle up when I leave at 5:30 am

G'nite all!

Linda

Linda, making these soy candles are so easy. There are several websites where you buy the supplies that teach you how. Just google candle making.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

smalltown, IL

Thanks Cindy;
I would love to get lots of rest but can't afford to take any time off...

Raleigh, NC

folks, I'm too tired to read again tonight. I'll catch up in the morning, I hope.

today was a great day, well, exept for the part with the teacher telling me my daughter isn't even trying in math class and failing.

I picked up a used clothing rack I can use to get all Mom's massive stash of clothing organized. But the free mulch was gone by the time we got there after the P/T conference. And I found a double clamp wreathemaster machine for $75. I'm doing myChristmas shopping on craigslist!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Please tell us what a wreath master is?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I googled and found this:

Good morning all Coffee is out and extremely hot! IIts 28 but feels like 23 here in lancaster... BRRRRRR Only supposed to get to 39 today for the high...

O Kathy I so hope the bank does the right thing.. Did your card get stolen or just someone savy enough to get your information somehow? You should not be at fault...

Linda sounds like you have been keeping busy moving your brugs into the greenhouse.. Of course you know Iwill take any cuttings.. I need to have angels from you anywhere I live and luckily I have room in the basement for over wintering. Just need to go get one more light balast and 2 more bulbs.. So you like Bellas coat? Its the only one I could find big enough to fit her and it looks like it wont for long.. Then I will have to figure out how to make her one.. LOL

LK I would love a few cuttings as well if you have enough to go around.. I can take them anytimejust let me know what I would owe you for postage and I can get it out next week after we get the rent taken care of.. Im so lucky to have a landlord who knows times are tuff and doesnt mind if Im a week late on a small amount of the rent..

Lisa do take care of yourself.. Im treating myself as well.. Sinuses and achy.. yuck but I went to bed last night at 730 and slept until 530 this morning when the alarm went off to take my DH to work..

Cindy do you buy scents for your candles and do big batches of each sent or just alittle at a time? My dad and I used to make regular candles when I was little.. Miss having him want to do stuff like that with me know all I get is an akward hug and a hard time for not visiting enough.. Told him the road goes both ways and he just laughed and said Im definately too much like him for my own good.. lol

Bonnie that wreathmaster sounds interesting.. I need to get a wreath or make one for teh front door.. I gave my old one to the next door neighbor when we moved... She said she is hanging it right out front this year,, I MISS MY OLD NEIGHBORS,,

Well gotta get breakfast together for the kids before school.. Hope you all have a wonderful day..
Huggs

Morning Everyone. Thanks for the coffee. It is cold here too at 39. It is supposed to be 28 here tomorrow, with snow! YUCK!
That wreathmaster looks interesting. I have never seen a wreath made like that. Was wondering how they were done?
Donna, I will get some cuttings out to you soon.
I bought some mulch yesterday, does an yone know how deep I need to place it over the roots of the brugs that are left?
Jaye, hope you get your computer going soon, we miss you, Hope all is well in N.C.

the bank is giving back my money. i made a police report and am waiting for the detective to call me.
no one has had my card except michael, and he don't know how to turn a computer on let alone order something from the internet.
when my daughter was living here, her and her boyfriend had it a few times. so what does that tell us?

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Morning Ladies,
yep it's cooooolllllldddddd here too. Saturday night we are going to the Festival of Lights parade, there are over 100 entries. Mom and I usually get there about 3:30 to set up our chairs. Thousands of people come to this, it is the biggest parade Auburn has. It lasts about two hours. We take LOTS of blankets and bundle up like we are going to the Artic

Donna, I make small batchs at a time. Yes I order my scents from different companies.

Raleigh, NC

Morning Glory! ohhhhh, it's chilly here today too. not supposed to get much into the 40s by this afternoon.

Got my favorite exercise instructor teaching class today, so I'm about ready to head out.

yes, that's the wreathemaster. This one has a solid square table that color. you take a wreathe form (heavy wire circle with spokes) and place bundles of materials between the spokes. The clamps of the machine fit the spokes and bend them tightly and firmly around the material. like a giant stapler. "Amy" demo'ed it for Ruth and I, then insisted I do one bundle myself to get a feel for it. Very easy.

Had never heard of wreath machines before yesterday. I googled it, too, and found a thread on the gardenweb about them. This is the "good" one, according to those folks, and many florists had more than one of these, but the thread is a few years old. Amy is a florist and was "clearing out the attic." She said that wreathes have gone out of fashion and don't sell well anymore in Raleigh. She had a leyland cypress cut down and had trimmed the twigs to just the right length. I can see that now my wreathe making will consist of a lot of cutting, but not much effort otherwise.

Have always loved making wreathes but mine were always a bear to make. She's right, with this I can make one in no time at all, and out of just about anything! you can make other shapes as well, Amy has made crosses and casket blankets, too. they sell the forms, but a U of wire is all that is required to staple stuff together.

Brad, my BIL, is nearly pro at making florist bows...we cut those pines out of theway to put down the manure, and I set them aside for making garland.....had to trim 1/3 off the rosemary bush, too, to put out the driveway lights.....Amy gave me all her left over wire forms.....I feel a wreathe coming on!

oops - gotta run to class - bye for now

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh, you have to show us when you get one made!
Hey Cindy, enjoy the parde of lights, and stay warm. Maybe take a thermos full of hot chocolate with ya!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I finally got my camera. This is my son, and his new bride.
I think you can tell her favorite color is pink?

Hey y'all! I'm still alive and using the old chug-chug-a-long '97 :(
The pc had a viral attack. So, bear with me, as this is truly archaic, can't wait to get my faster pc back.

Sis Kathy, I'm glad you got that charge taken care. We all need money coming in, not going out!

I've seen a wreathmaster at work, and it's so neat. Beats trying to clamp down your silks. Bon, that will keep you occupied when it's too cold to do anything useful outside!

Lisa, lots of liquids gal. If you're finding it hard to breathe, please see a doctor!

Cookie, so sorry you had to cancel the trip. Hope Bill's brother's on the mend. Will forward his name to our church's prayer circle.

Pegi, I'm glad they got to you. Some of the limbs are thin, that's because they are of the 'smaller' brug family. Hope they'd root for you.

Donna, I bet you do miss Florida at this time of the year. But with climate change, no telling you might get a surprising tropical weather there in the dead of winter!! Look at all the surprising snowfall elsewhere!!

So.. LK, it's predicted you'll be having snow. You didn't chant enough for that snow to remain in Amarillo!!! My gf in Houston's terrified that her tropicals left outside will be doomed!
Cute couple there LK. Wishing them the best and I know you've already spoiled your step grandchildren.

Hiya Crissy~~
~~ waving to all that lurk.. and those I miss...

Got a bunch of dmails to reply... I'll try to return with this slowwwww pc..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Jaye, How you doing? How are the in laws doing?
Can't wait to get your PC fixed, so you can join us again! Sorry you got a virus in your computer!
Take care.
LK

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Just replied to some dmails LK.

Thanks for asking.. PILs are doing great and putting out Christmas decorations.

Being away from the 'net brought me back to a normal sleeping pattern.. that's the ONLY good thing!! LOLOL!!
But it's terrible when I can't get on DG and lost so many good bids on eBay!
Could have used the library's pc, but it's cold out there!! Kel says he will have to check on a laptop. We'll see..

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Dell is having sales on laptops I want one really bad

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

That's one brand Kel won't touch! Bad experience twice, he said.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Oh, well i have a Dell desktop and it has been great and I've had it for 3 1/2 years now

Jacksonville, FL

Hi all!

It is Cold here too!!! 39 in the am BRRRR--

Donna you are NOT missing warm weather cuz it isn't!! At 5:30 this am I was at the OP Mall to drop off toys and canned goods for a drive for First Coast News station. Wound up being on the news this am!!! It was kinda fun especially since I know the morning anchors, Joy, Michelle and Phil. I will get some cuttings together and send them to you soon. D-mail me your new address.

Thanks Cindy--will start looking into some websites--I think I would enjoy the candle making

Jaye--Glad to see you back!!! Hope you get your computer problems fixed. I had alot of problems lately and it has been narrowed down to when I started doing Farmville and Cafe world on Facebook. I finally quit going into either one and the computer is doing so much better. Don't know if anyone else had had problems using those sites but I sure did. I really don't have time for them anyway and if it keeps my computer in good shape I will not have any problem giving them up

LK--your son looks just like you!!! Handsome guy!!

Kathy--glad you got your money back and I hope they catch whoever did that. I have no tolerance for thieves!

It is going to be cold and rainy all weekend so I guess yardwork will be out of the question. Maybe I will just relax for a change??? Probably not!

Catch you all tomorrow

Linda

Raleigh, NC

oh so great to have Jaye back, even if it's for limited usage PC!

got my rear end moving enough to pot up 6 cannas and trim half the rest, ready now for potting. Then, got Ruth in the truck and we went for more mulch. it's pretty picked over, just the big chunky parts left, so I don't think we did much good. a good thing this load is actually going to BE mulch. LOL I have the first load set aside to decompose more for use in pots next year.

Randall is calling the wreathemaster "the torture machine" - he's cracking jokes all over about it! He says it looks strictly S&M. That man! He'd be cracking jokes no matter what.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Happy Saturday Ladies!
Fresh coffee... bagels and toast and an assortment of jellies and jams. My favorite is figs.

Bonnie, tell Randall it's a wreathmaster, not a 'writh'master!! Lol!!

Pretty much the same weather we're having here today Linda. Cold and rainy, not much to cheer about. Was thinking of getting boxes prepared to be mailed today, last night.. but I think I'll wait for next week's dry weather.
Kel purchased a couple of camellias for Ali's memory garden. Today, it will be a search for the right hardscape for his grave, and a laptop.

Trisha, hope you're faring well there.

How is Bill's brother, Cookie?

Kinda missing Maid M's posting. She must still be having company.

What are your plans for the day ladies? Anyway, hope you have a wonderful Saturday, even if it is indoors.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Morning Ladies,
Thanks for coffee. Today I'm sewing Barbie doll clothes. Guess what my granddaughter put on her Christmas wish list. Barbie's Glamour House. Oh man, I hope she won't be disappointed that I made her a house. I found a commode for it finally. It will be Monday, then I just need to have Steve help me with the trim on the foof and it's DONE!!!!! Now to find a box big enough to fit over it.

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

It was 22* here when I got up! That's cold! But the sun is shining!I think I have all my Christmas bought, maybe!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone. Looks like everyone is sleeping in, on this cold morning. Jaye, thanks for the breakfast. I do hope you find the proper hardscape your looking for! And a new paltop... Woohoo, you will be surfing the web all the time with that.
Cindy, your Granddaughter will love the house, especially since she know you made it for her.
Audrey, I am proud of you for getting your shopping done. I just started shopping for Christmas this past week. Not even near done, but most of the stuff the lids want, is online, so I don't have to run out and shop for hours!
27 here this morning, and that broke our old record cold of 28, back in like 1945. it has been a long time since it has been this cold, this early in the year.
I too am getting boxes ready to mail out Monday. I want to go and get our tree this week-end. Just need warmer temps to go out into!
Time for more coffee. See you all later.

This is my Mustang this morning!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Cindy, don't you worry. Your grandaughter's dollhouse is above and beyond what she can find on the commercial market. She will have one exclusively made for her, and no other girls can lay claim to it.

I haven't started Christmas shopping.. yet.. Audrey. Just had too much other little fires to chase :( But a blessed procrastination though.
This year, for the Salvation Army Christmas Angels, we have decided NOT to participate. There are so many kids that we know personally, and even adults, that need help.
Such a sad year...

LK, I love that new word "Paltop"!!!! Yep, that will be my best friend IF he decide to get one. We need a new couch too!!! Kel goes through furniture, like I wear out my shoes!!!

Is that snow dusting on your Mustang?

Snow.. stay away from me!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

OOps, that was a typo, just typing too fast!
I go through shoes too. I get a new pair about every 5-6 months, if not sooner. I always got the ones sold at walmart, made by Dr. Scholls, but they don't carry them any more since they remodeled the store, so now I am in a new hunt for a shoe source also!
Walmart, if your reading, you need to get back the items we use! Not what your trying to force us to buy!
They are losing so much money since the remodel, cause they don't carry what I want, and that forces me to shop else where!
OK, enough rant for today!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Not snow, lots of ice and frost.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sistah Judy, if you're lurking.... I regret NOT talking to you longer, and maybe altered our decision to go to another restaurant, last night!!!
I had to take Immodium AD, this morning!! That smoky rack of ribs at the local restaurant didn't agree with me.
Amazing that Kel's stomach wasn't affected!

My stomach would have been better off at Sonic's.
