Is the Plantfiles page different from the Plant Files forum?
Oriental reds?
ge, looks like 'Satisfaction' to me. 'Red Hot' looks much, much different than that ...let me go hunting...
There is definatly a difference.RedHot is a downward facing lily.
Satisfaction is a OT.
I found the color held better the second season.
I've had it for two seasons and having a much cooler season than is usual for us here, I bet I got another day of color lasting out of it. That's it. And it's not even in full sun.
GE, Here, you do it on this page:

So it's stormyla's picture that is 'Red Hot' and not 'Satisfaction'? Now that is definitely 'Red Hot' in Plantfiles under stormyla's name.
Yep, that 'Red Hot', now compare that side by side with the picture in Plantfiles you posted. They are the same, they sure appear to be.
'Pizzazz' maybe? Not 'Satisfaction'. I can't recall if there is one from the American Lily Series with that coloring, seems like there is.
Magnolialover, I saw your beautiful photo in PF of Pizazz. But I've never bought any Pizazz. I was thinking that it was American West, but the tag got kicked away. There were 3 of them, but I think the voles got the others.

Look at the beautiful color on this Red Hot. It doesn't even look like most of the other photos.

Phil? Who is Phil?
Phil, isn't that you hiding behind Pirl? :) LOL :)
Phil has left the building.
he he he.
I finally got clued in about PlantFiles and tried 4 times to upload a pic.
THEN I realized it has to ne reviewed by a committee before it appears in the post.I will probably get mail and have to choose which pic I want to use as I used 2 different views .One was tha collage.
Ge, You can post more than one photo of a plant, but I don't think I've ever seen any collages in PF.
I am in another pickle.Just made 3 new picasa albums and cant figure out how to copy url so I can put links on DG.
I just figured out how to make and post an album of this summers lilies.

Lovely Jo Ann!
Doridunn, welcome! I see you're brand new. I don't keep a tradelist on DG, but will trade. Especially I like to trade with someone new! Let me know what you might be looking for and maybe we can make a trade for next spring. Is your name Dori? There was a gal I used to work with ages ago, and she had the most beautiful name, Dorrianne Rossetti. We called her Dori. And I always liked the name as she was such a lovely lady.
Hi Dori
Welcome to Daves.Newfield is in my old hometown area,Ithaca. My sister just moved back to Trumansburg.
Do you have pictures of your gardens?
Ge, Your lily album is lovely. It looks so nice and sunny on this dreary day.
Thanks, thats why I'm working on stuff like that.
I planted 100 new lily bulbs this fall so next years album will be bigger.
DD isin a bad mood today so I'm laying low.
Well, stay here on DG with us and talk flowers. That always brightens the mood.
100 new lily bulbs will be gorgeous! I can't wait to see pictures.
Tracey,
Your picture of Vice Versa is stunning. I like the representation of it so much better than the one on B&D. No criticism of them - I think that they are great and ordered wonderful bulbs from them again this year. But in your opinion, which image do you think is more representative, their or yours?
http://bdlilies.com/l9103.html
Because if yours is, I'm ordering it in spring when it becomes available again.
Thank you.
D
I dont mean to offend and horn in here but I do a lot of business with B&D and have always found their pictures dark so I copy them to Photoshop and ajust the brightness and contrast.
This is the B&D lily picture just brightened.
I also find some colors change as in a lavanderpinkish lily that turned pink when brightened.

Ge, that is amazing. Must be the artist in you that made you think of doing that.
Pirl, your photo of Red Hot is very beautiful and I noticed the wood. Is that photo truly indicative of the color it is in your garden? I still can't get over Todd Boland's color.
I really love peach and coral lilies. They stand out better than reds in my shady beds. But my first love was for reds.
Dori, welcome to DG! You will find lots of great folks to help you here!
I'm still curious about getting Tracey's input. The photoshopped image and the B&D image don't seem to have the same tone as Tracey's. Hers has what I perceive as a coral tone while the other images look salmon. I would really prefer the coral, since the rabbits took my gift samplle Coral Babies some years ago and I would like to investigate getting a larger flower.
Donna
I'm confused by the name. Sometimes it's shown as Vice Versa and others use Visa Versa.
To my eyes it is coral, not a light coral though.
Stormyla - Here's Red Hot from more of a distance and with a yellow daylily nosing in there. It is the color of it here.
I saw the two names as well.
Okay, I started this thread, and I hope you guys realize how much you are to blame for the expansion of my Want List (or maybe that's Need List) as a result of your sharing so many pictures and your enthusiasm for certain lilies. :-) Now I need some coral ones.
That Salmon Star is really beautiful especially with the DL. I planted some this fall from B & D. I added Eudoxia too.
Pirl, did you forget to post that photo where you addressed your comment to me?
McGlory, I feel your pain!! The only ones I haven't succombed to are the Pinks.
