Usually so Rachel, but keep an eye on the plant. If you see any more, you can use a q-tip dipped in alcohol to kill the odd straggler. Easier on the plant and your lungs than sprays....grin I keep q-tips and rubbing alcohol in the greenhouse, especially for mealybugs on the orchids.

Your unconcious act just shows what a good heart you have, Smiley. Sometimes all it takes is an act of kindness to keep a kid on track when their world is so messed up...love the LOOO-CY....grin. Sounds like he had a great sense of humor

Smiley you do have a very good heart.

Thank's Jean for the help, it sure beat's surfing the net for good advice;-)

Just call me the idiot savant of search engines.....grin. You are too welcome Rachel. We don't get to see you nearly enough, so always a pleasure when we do.

Smiley you have a generous heart, more adults should be so generous!

eh, he was a kid, whadya gonna do? you all would have done the same thing.

DH & I say too bad we weren't rich with a mansion. We'd take in all the stray friends.

(Zone 5b)

you just made me smile, all our friends from divorced homes lived at my mother's, the table was always full, the friends always welcome, and now that I think about it there was a whole long list of 'em.....they were (still are) our adopted siblings. My parents left the doors unlocked. My mother couldn't stand the thought of anybody getting locked out when they needed in.

my mom took in the strays, too. But she worked 2 jobs ^_^

Never knew who'd be there in the morning... my 'sister' lived under my bed a few times, which sounds funny, but she did. Had all her stuff under there & the spare cot got pulled out every night (at that point, we were in a 2 bdrm apt & me and mom shared a room)

yep, no one goes hungry in our house. I grew up with no food in the fridge - our always have food. We may not have gone to Wally World (Boston is as far as we've gone) but there's always food in the fridge.

I love these comments. I could have searched the world and not found a better more loving and caring bunch. I'm so glad I stumbled up on most of you on the ole slug and basil threads. This past year with you guys have been a blast. I've never run into a bunch with more humor, knowledge and good will than you.

DH Jim and I have been the stray sanctuary.....neither of our parents "raised" any other kids, but they were always welcome to come over and play/hang out or maybe sleep over...5 kids...3br house....short fused Dad

We have had too many cats and dogs journey with us, and as our 3 kids grew, the number of stray kids increased...at one time we had 3 boys sleeping on the living room floor for a few weeks, a couple girls spent a few months with us, and we have had our shared of adults who stayed sometimes too long.GRIN

You hit the nail on the head when you said They were kids....
