Call me when the internet can cook it!!
Karen, I saw that monkey brain thing. I almost puked.
Coffee Break #23 - Counting down to Turkey!
I'll call you, but I wouldnt want to taste that :-)
Maria, I'm glad to hear you will be spending time for TG with family. That's great news! Have fun! Yeah, I used to wonder why I had to learn certain things in school, too. Guess it all comes in handy eventually.
Yeah, that really was disgusting, Victor. Don't want to see that again.
I liked that list. If you buy a turkey 3 days in advance and keep it in the fridge it should be thawed by TG. I guess it depends on the size.
Karen
Karen, thanks for your response I truly appreciate it
Maria, wish I could drive that distance to your home, I surely would visit you.
Allison, I'm hoping Lily continues to get better.
Maria, maybe I'll get a chance to stop by your place next year when stuff is blooming. I really like visiting Tranquil Lake Nurseries where they grow all the daylilies and Sib irises. I need to get some Sibs, as I just don't have enough of them.
Karen
Karen, nothing would please me more if you stopped by for a visit. Tranquil Lake is a wonderful nursery, I only live about two miles from their place and as you can imagine bought lots of plants from them.
Maria
Yes, I can imagine. Last year I bought a Dawn Redwood called 'Ogon' (Gold Rush, with the chartreuse foliage) from them. It's doing very well.
Karen
Good for you Maria!
Thanks Karen. The cast is off!
For everyone, good health to you & your's (including your pets)
Good to hear, Dave! I'm sure he's happy. I broke my foot when I was 14. Had a cast for only three weeks but it drove me crazy!
Thanks, Karen. Wren, glad I'm not having gravy at your house! Dave, good news! And Allison---glad Lily is on the mend---my heart just about stops when either of my dogs are sick.
Maria - I'm very happy to hear you will be with family on Thanksgiving. I was feeling rather down thinking of you being alone. I know you would have also enjoyed visiting Karen too and good for you, Karen, for inviting Maria. That is so what Thanksgiving is about, isn't it?
Allison - whew....so happy to hear that Lily is recovering. You must be so relieved. It isn't easy keeping these puppies from chomping on everything in sight out there, so I can relate to your situation. I think when they are so close to the ground, everything is inviting.
Glad to hear your son had the cast removed. I chipped a bone in my foot when I was about 11 and had a cast about 2 weeks. Was so glad when it was off. Broke my ankle falling off a horse in 1987, and had a cast on for about 4 wks. Too long!
I was looking at dogs available for adoption today and saw this adorable guy: http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=15126886 Just thought he was the cutest and thought he would make a great addition to our family. My niece would love to have a wiener dog, but maybe she would like this one just as much. He's about less than half the size of my Patches, who is about 55 lbs. He seems to have just the kind of personality that I love, too, low key, cuddly, doesn't bark much, very sweet. What do you guys think?
Karen
Great looking!
On our way to the first 'man made' black hole.

How do we know we're not already inside one??!
No, we aren't in a Black Hole, Victor. We're in the Matrix. Didn't you know that? Our lives aren't real at all. It's just an illusion of reality.
Karen
That's what they say in A Course in Miracles.
Nay... "Cogito, ergo sum" ☺
Oh, man. Now you're testing my... latin?
What does it say?
"I think, therefore I am"... Descartes, when he was wondering about his existence, - one of the fundamental building blocks of philosophy & logic. ☺
Ah, yes. I recognize it in English. I wonder if this computer thinks? Hey, that reminds me. They developed a computer that can rationalize, or something like that. It has the rational intelligence of a cat. Artificial Intelligence coming right up. I heard it on NPR on Weds. I wonder if I can find the article.
Karen--if you want another dog, he looks nice. What would Patches think? Or is it for your niece? TN is a bit of a distance to go if you are not sure?
I need to clear up an error( geezer moment, sorry )
I meant to say 2 daughters partners are out of work.
1 has just found a job in security, daughter is a writer and teaches Eng.Comp at community college.
The other daughter has a usless "live in" boyfriend.

Thanks Onewish.
Believe me I dont dwell on it.
DD is old enough to handle her own life.
I'm better off staying out of it.

Your not off Ge, you said "Money" that is what everyone wants(needs?) these days anyways!

She's gorgeous Celeste!
Awwww. How kind!
Awww...it's beautiful! It is You!
GE, I hope things change soon and that by next Christmas this is a memory of a family growing tighter in challange.
Pixie, How nice! The fairy, you and the person that united you, are beautiful.
DS was in a cast almost 7 weeks He had a tough break (so to speak). It was tough on a (hyper)active kid.
Very thoughtful!! Beautiful gift, Celeste.
What a cool idea!

Nice, but it wouldn't work here, you'd have groups of loitering teens making the stairs impassable. - You'd need a more courteous society. (lol)
Very true. (Including me as a kid!)
Nice. It made the people smile, something you dont see much on passengers.( I assumed it was a train station).
