Hope to!
Celeste! That doll is so sweet! What a very thoughtful thing to send you. How's Justin?
He's doing good Harper thanks for asking. We astually had a bit of a scare, couldn't get the bandage off...it was 'glued' to his incision. Can't soak it , I just got it wet a little bit and got it loose finally! Doc wanted it off in one day...it took me two!
Very pretty, Pixie. Glad Justin is doing good.
Those piano stairs are neat.
Victor, you def have to go to the train show.
Yes, I will try. Will certainly post pics if I do. I have to renew my membership. I let it slip.
I'm so glad Justin is fine, Pixie, & the fairy is a wonderful gesture, but so like a DGer! Jo Ann, you are so right about the kids! Mine smiles, & does what he pleases. Thanks, Victor for the info on the train show---my nephew lives in Riverdale, & I'm sure his 2 girls would love to go.
I used to live in Riverdale, Marilyn.
Celeste, glad to hear Justin is doing well. Ouch! about the bandage. You'd think they'd make them out of teflon or something nowadays.
I saw the train show once. It was crowded and a kid behind me threw up. I haven't felt inspired to go back.
Don't Archie & Veronica live in Riverdale too?
Yes. Must be a thousand times I heard that.
Me too, Harp, when I told people I went to college there.
Well, I'm glad to know they weren't singling me out.
Wow. That poor guy. Oh, wow. Makes me want to volunteer to read books to people at the hospital.
Ever see "The Belljar and the Butterfly", that might be the other way around, but in any case it is truly heartwrenching and uplifting at the same time. Worth a watch!
Glad to hear Justin is doing well... hugs to you ... my pal
I have it on my Netflix queue. I've been meaning to see it for a long time. : )
Here's a pic of my granddaughter whose house I'm going to for Thanksgiving. She is in cycle in karate for her black belt, and if she makes it, she'll be the youngest ever in the dojo, at age 7 to get her black belt, and they have been in business for 34 years. She might not make it as she is having trouble getting her run time down. She's got until January to make 2 miles in under 16 minutes, and she is having trouble getting it under 17 at this point. But she's a determined one, so she might. She's the girl in the middle, with the longer black hair and shirt hanging out.
What determination at such a young age! I wish her the best of luck. Wow, their rules are tough!
Thanks. Yes no leeway. She either makes the time or doesn't get the belt. She can then go into cycle for another three months and try again, but by then she will be eight, so we're hoping. One of her favorite instructors is running with her to try to get her time down.
She is an extremely determined child. Her teacher last year in first grade was concerned that she didn't fool around much. Well, she's a wild nut at home, but in school, she's there to study. Her brother is pretty much like that also, and a big part of it is the karate influence.
Wow - great for her!
Was there a crash?
Must have been. Seems to be a Monday morning thing!
Polly, She's beautiful. Thats a tough test. Even harder than the military, which was 1.5 miles in 16 minutes. Wishing her the best!
I was going thru DG withdrawals from about midnight on.
Me too! Was trying to submit a post and was saying unflattering things to my puter b/c it was taking so long to upload! LOL!
very impressive for a 7 yr. old - i hope she makes the time!
It's nice to see kids with their priorities in order and goal oriented! Good luck to her!
Best wishes to your GD, Polly. She looks just like one of my grands, who looks just like me when I was young. I just stared at her picture and was amazed at the likeness. WOW!!
That's great about your GD, Polly. I'm glad to hear she knows how to relax, too!
What a beautiful and thoughtful fairy present, Celeste! No wonder you cried! Glad to hear that Justin is doing well and that you got that bandage off! Ugh!
Polly - your GD is lovely and I add my good wishes that she will meet her goal. That's impressive!
She's a cutie---& now she can protect herself from those boys who will be flocking to the door soon!
Ha! I was thinking the same thing!!!! The little cutie will be able to handle herself, very important in this day.
Glad that I wasn't the only one with DG problems. I realized that it wasn't the computer when I got Google. the icon which shows that internet is on still has not appeared in lower right hand corner.
Great for kids to be active at an ealy age.
Did you hear about the moron union head in PA who threatened to file a grievance against the city of Allentown for allowing a 17 yr old scout voluntarily clear a walking trail, instead of paying union people to do it? Incredible. Well he resigned today - after lots of outcry.
I don't get why people carry things to such extremes. Glad he resigned!
That dog I want is in TN, Iris? I couldn't see where he was being fostered at. Anyhow, the adoption fee covers transportation. I think Patches would get along with him great. She gets along well with other dogs, but only if they have low-key personalities like her and don't try and jump all over her. She will quickly show that she's the dominant one here, and if he shows her due respect, then there'll be no problems. When I first brought Patches here and introduced her to Buffy (Dad's dog), they got along well. They had a few scraps over food early on, mostly on her end. Buffy had no problem letting her be top dog. Winston sounds like he has a non-dominant personality, but who knows. He may just end up being king of the castle, even though he would be the smallest one. I won't say anything to Dad, cause I don't want him to get upset over the prospect of Buffy dying one day, but Winston would be his dog once Buffy has passed on. I think it would make the passing a lot easier on him. Then when my Dad passes on, if Winston is still around, he would belong to me again.
Jo Ann, sorry to hear about your one daughter's useless boyfriend. My niece had a boyfriend like that who ended up in jail. She was writing to him and visiting him for awhile, though I haven't asked if that's still going on. He'll be out of jail next year, I think in July or Aug. He is definitely not welcome to stay here again. He was stealing car stereos and doing drugs (pot, that I know of, don't know if anything else). Had several warrents out for him from Brockton, where he was from, one for stealing a car. Got a year in jail. My sister turned him in to the cops when she found car stereos in her daughter's room. Good! I never liked him staying her anyway, and never trusted him.
Celeste, the Pixie doll is so sweet, and what a kind thing for that person to do! Fits you to a T. That's great that Justin is doing well!
Wow, 7 weeks in a cast, Dave, that would be tough for anyone!
Those stairs really do look like they'd be fun, Victor!
Oh, I sure would love to see that holiday train show. In fact it's got me thinking about taking Dad there next month. Would be a fun day trip.
How sad for that man to have wasted away 23 years of his life. What a terrible thing for a person to go through. Must have been awful for him.
Nice pic of your DGD, Polly! I hope she gets her black belt.
Karen
