Morning ladies, thank you so much for the very much needed coffee LK. Hope all goes well with you.

Sorry I went AWOL yesterday. Had a lot on the plate and rather just keep it to myself then bring all of you down... might empty the room :D

Thank you Judy for bringing up that memorable hug between Cookie and BJ. That was a very poignant moment there. Incredible isn't it, all the years of wondering whether her brother had any comfort, and there's Dusty.. she was there for him. No coincidence at play there, that's God.

Pegi, you had asked on what rice cooker to get, I'd suggest the one that starts with an "A"... Aroma, I think. A much better steamer and insulation.

Oh well... got to leave the house for a while.. catch you all later.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Ha!!! We could use a pirogue here Maid M! Rain hasn't stopped :(
Have the rains subside there?

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Afternoon Sistas.. No longer am I missing in action.. Its been a very very long week but things are looking up..

I wont lie and say I have read the previous thread yet but I promise I will later tonight..

Well as I said its been a crazy week.. We had friends over on sunday for diner with their 4 kids and would you believe it once again Maxs dad has been mis-behaving.. He had t leave in the middle of dinner to go get his dad out of teh street ighting beside the bar.. UGGHHh That Man is never gonna learn and Max is done.. He says the kids cant go to grandmas unless we are wit them since his dad cant be trusted to not drink.. Max has had enough and told his mom hes ready to flatten his dad.. Im hoping today when I go afterTony I can catch her at the school.. Max is not his keeper and even said if he didnt know I was so happy he would drag me back to Fl to get away from them so Im telling MIL no more calls to us.. she can call the police instead..

Tuesday he went to orientation for Miracle Grow company and before he got home they called 4 times and offered him the machine Operators position leading into maitnence. So he started work on wednesday.. My boss is allowing me to come in at 9 and leave at 230 so I can get the kids from school.. Hes such a good man and even told me no worries family comes first and he will work with me as long as I promise I will stay... Love the new shop and have pt old grumpy Bob in his place so he leaves me alone now.. LOL

Today Im off and running errands.. I have been out and about since 615 this morning.. I am only 2 days in and already feel like a taxi! Max to work at 630, Tony at 730, Tristen at 830 then to park to gather hedge apples, then grocery store.. Whew now I have a few minutes before I take Max his lunch and Bella for a visit..

I made one heck of a find today too.. LOL I found sitting out for trash 6 hanging baskets with I believe begonias in them.. They are still blooming and pretty so I threw them in the truck along the way to the store this morning.. Gotta look them up to see if I can root cuttings or overwinter them..

Well I better get ready to get Maxs lunch together.. will be back later..
Huggs and Prayers to all
Donna

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

O I forgot My boss gave me a Huge Christmas Tree.. Ours got lost in the move and I was hoping I wouldnt have to go buy a new one.. So now I have a big pretty tree siting in the living room.. Gonna try to get lights on it today but Max says no decorating until next week for my birthday..

Kids are excited and already have their list put together for Santa... Just hoping Santa can pull off a few goodies .. LOL

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

What day is your birthday? Mine's the 28th. Happy birthday!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hi Audrey. Donna's b'day is the 19th.

Donna, things are looking up for you and Max. So good to read of the good news on his prospects with MG. Now all you need is more new clients!
As for your FIL, just remember that no one can help an alcoholic, as it's a disease that has a strong grip on his willpower.

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Audrey Happy Birthday! Just in case I forget.. lol

Jaye yes it is soo good to finally have alittle good luck on our side for a change.. I went up and saw Max for Lunch and he said they had him running Maintnence today on the machines so he was greasy but very happy..

As for the clients at the shop it will come about in time.. As soon as I get some ink Im going to print some buisiness cards ith my name and hours on them to hand out.. Bossman says that its fine with him (they use word of mouth).. I also am looking into having a few t-shirts done when the money is available.. Hehe Im a brat but I figure I can advertise for myself all I want..

As for FIL I had hope at first but now that his daughter is away at college he has gone right back to his old ways.. I was with an alcoholic for a few years befor eMax and know all to well that he has to want to change and nobody can force him too. Just a shame hes going to lose his family and possibly his life over it.. He has a eart condition and since we found out about Uncle Jack he says he has had bleeding for years.. Sigh He wont go to the doctor but we now are pretty sure he has the colon cancer too.. Between all that and the drinking hes gonna do himself in long before his time..

Well better go Take Bella for her Hike I promised her before Tony gets out of school..
Huggs Sistas I love yall like family

Afternoon everyone....

Jaye ((((hugs)))).

Donna how lucky! Mom and I have five big hanging Fuschia (sp) baskets that a friend ours was going to throw out about four years ago...they would just toss them and buy new ones every year....obviously they have more money than they have sense! But their loss is our gain...and they are so shocked that we still have them!

Well waving to all I have missed...have to go pick up Laura and Sage for Sages dental appointment....will check back later.

1st graders

1stgrade school teacher had twenty-six students in her class. She presented each child in her classroom the 1st half of a well-known proverb and asked them to come up with the remainder of the proverb. It's hard to believe these were actually done by first graders. Their insight may surprise you. While reading, keep in mind that these are first-graders, 6-year-olds, because the last one is a classic!

Pegi - Rice cooker question: I have a rice cooker at home, it's just the two of us and we use it all the time, I don't remember what brand it is, I'll look when I get home tonight and dmail ya.

All of the jokes are hilarious!

I didn't come on yesterday, sorry ya'll. Such a neat story about BJ and Dusty. I love both of them and miss them dearly. Thanks for sharing the pic of the hug, very nice.

Oh, I forgot what I was going to say, what else is new! LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hello everyone. Still in San Angelo, on my laptop! I have an appoitnment for a knee specialist at 4:15, so lets hope he can find the problem?
jaye, thanks for the new room, and trhe funny quotes, so funny!
Crissy, how is your back doing? Better I hope?
Donna, so glad max got the job, and your boss is working with you on your schedule!
Later
LK

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Oh my back is much better, but now my neck is bothering me. Part of that is from that wreck, other part is probably because he's adjusting my lower back and not my middle and upper. When I start going once a month I'm going to ask him to adjust my whole spine.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the hugs Trisha.
LK, I truly hope they can fix it with no invasive surgery. Crissy, you might need to start using a neck roll for support.

More Thursday ^_^

An exasperated mother, whose son was always getting into mischief, finally asked him, "How do you expect to get into Heaven?"
The boy thought it over and said, "Well, I'll just run in and out and in and out and keep slamming the door until St. Peter says, 'For Heaven's sake, Jimmy, come in or stay out!'"

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Casey asked her Sunday school teacher a question: "If the people of Israel are Israelites, and the people of Canann are Canannites, are the people of Paris called Parasites?"

~~~~~
A Sunday school teacher was telling her class the story of the Good Samaritan, in which a man was beaten, robbed and left for dead.
She described the situation in vivid detail so her students would catch the drama. Then she asked the class, "If you saw a person lying on the roadside all wounded and bleeding, what would you do?"
A thoughtful little girl broke the hushed silence, "I think I'd throw up!"
TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)
Note:
This girl here one day would make a Top Chef ;)
The Sunday school teacher was carefully explaining the story of Elijah the Prophet and the false prophets of Baal. She explained how Elijah built the altar, put wood upon it, cut the steer in pieces and laid it upon the altar. And then Elijah commanded the people of God to fill four barrels of water and pour it over the altar. He had them do this four times. "Now, said the teacher, "can anyone in the class tell me why the Lord would have Elijah pour water over the steer on the altar?"
A little girl raised her hand with great enthusiasm and said "To make the gravy!"
Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)
LOL I wish that was the answer, it needs to be popped, so does my spine between my shoulders.
Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)
... Strike while the ~ bug is close.. Did they ask Tristen this question...
LK hopefully they can get your knee to feeling better..
Crissy O how I miss the Chiro~ I went once a month for a long time and then never could afford it again let alone insurance.. Have learned for myself sometimes I have to lie on the hard floor flat for a bit but it relieves the soreness of the back.. Thinking of asking Santa for a shiatsu massage pad for the chair upstairs.. Figure Max wants to get me anything welll.. heck he can use it too.. lol
Trisha got to looking closer and found tons of seeds on two of the baskets..
Very Pretty Trisha.. It looks great.. What did you use on it?
(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)
It is acrylic painted on canvas board for the back ground, then you put a layer of texture medium on the starfish, when that is dry you paint the starfish...
TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)
Oh wow.. I learnt something new, Trisha, dimensional painting. Pretty starfish..
You are lucky to have a basement Donna! You're off to a great 2010 gardening venture.
Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)
Very very neat project .. I love teh texture medium it really stands out nicely from the background and you did a greta job on teh coloring.. wow I really do like it...
Well gonna go find a spot to kick back.. Gotta be up at 530 and in the truck b 615... Its gonna take a bit to get used to this new schedule..
Even better.. LOL the tree I got from my boss.. I bought 400 multi colored bulbs at WM figured it would be enough.. HA HA it only covered the bottom half of the tree so I have to go get more with tip tomorrow night.. Max said I couldnt decorate and Im not .. Im just putting the lights on.. :)
TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)
Hey Donna... if you wished to decorate it.. go ahead.. tell Max I'm giving you permission :">
(pssst.... don't take me seriously! Lol)
(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)
Guys are sure killjoys aren't they? Mom and I have everything ready to start decorating for Christmas as soon as we finish the Thanksgiving dishes...at least at her house....I am not always that organized at MY house....but, we Love Christmas!
Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)
TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)
Trisha, I haven't put up a Christmas tree for years now.
This year, I'm in the home made 'green' Christmas ornament swap, so probably will be looking for one limb to hang that...!
Not missing anything tho' since MIL always goes overboard with her Christmas decorations.
More Thursday smiles before I start cleaning up the dining table.
We had baked ham with boiled cabbage and potatoes... simple but oh so soul satisfying!
LOL!! Ya'll have some great ones today!
Got my mom on the phone and she is livid at the doctors office. Someone put on the operative report that she has muscle spasms and needs physical therapy. She is so mad she said she's seeing red. This is supposed to be the report that tells the nerve doctor what she just had done and what else needs to have done. She said she's going not going to give the nerve doctor the report unless she absolutely has to.
Donna, it's nerve pain, she had this same nerve cut 20 years ago and it has grown back, has nothing to do with the muscles. She's not having muscle spasms, she said it feels like she's got to pee, constantly.
Someone's memory pills are not working and it's going to be a very very very long day.
Dave's work is laying off 150 people today, the employees found out about it yesterday afternoon, that's out of every 3 people one is getting laid off. I'm stressed and I think he'll be alright. I've been spending money like water too.
