Eating salad and cooked veggies will make you feel good!
Over Hill, Over Dale, Gypsies hit the dusty trail....
pretty flowers Dave!
Trina is young and doesn't care about cholesterol yet, right Trina? lol
I have kids here...will probably be sounding desperate by the end of the afternoon...
And are we going to start eating AGAIN? We must be the biggest eaters on DG (I was going to say biggest pigs, but I'll reserve that title for myself).
Eating right is an important job. It helps us to deal with pain and sickness more efficiently Improves our memory & thought processes.
Puts a smile on your face!
I eat on average 6 meals and snacks a day, if one of them is really really bad for me, and the other 5 meals are good then it balances out! Besides my idea of a salad and most peoples idea of a salad are waaaaay different!
and Dave is being evil, he mocks me with his croton photos!
they're very pretty...
I changed my mind, I'm making butternut squash gnocci....haven't made it in ages.
Whew!! Did you know that blind Beagles can run every bit as fast as sighted beagles? Benny Christopher decided to dig a hole under the fence and go for a gallop.....grin He is in the yard, hopefully scraping some of the muck off while I get his bath ready....silly dog charged right through a drainage ditch with a good 6 inches of nasty muddy water in it....YUK. First a bath for him...then one for me....after I finish refilling the hole he dug.....silly dog....grin
and cooks everything with butter, I prefer Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Skipper finally gave up his "toy" and I am not dragging that smelly beast in here to give him a bath...the boys can do it with the hose when they get home from school!
I think we are gonna have Tex-Mex black beans and rice tonight...Jim is working nights, so a big pot of beans means very little cooking for the next couple nights...yea!
I use mostly olive oil, but I do like butter too.
Moon you've had no shortage of mud over there!
love that one Dave
How do you spice "Tex-Mex" food, Jean?
Yup. That is why I am getting rid of this ridiculous to keep clean dove gray carpeting....argh....I hate wall to wall carpet.
For this dish, Black beans, onions, black olives, garlic, Ro-tel brand chunky hot tomato and chilies, fresh tomato, smoked jalapenos, cilantro and cumin,
You can show the crotons Dave I love them but not one single cutting I got this year survived, they all died except the two little leaves wich just sit there all pretty and brightly colored but do nothing!
so anyone want to play 'Name That Plant' with me?
Dave, just got our latest shipment of Tabasco Chipotle sauce from MacIlheny's ...a one gallon jug. Got one for our Son's upcoming B'day, too. We never forget the hot sauce...we even take our own to Mexican restuarants.....lol
I don't know what that last one was Dave, but interesting looking comes to mind
I have no idea...but seriously Dave the one I just posted what is it? other than painful if your not careful when handling it!
You didn't post the pic Trina....
Catch y'all later...bathing Beagles
Moon
Just a guess Trina, but the 1st maybe a Billbergia, the 2nd maybe a Neoregelia.
cool I will write those on the sticks with a ? for now...Thank you so much Dave....there are more but the camera needs to recharge, and I need to finish potting them up! Now where'd my watering can go? you'd think something that holds 2 gallons and is lemon yellow with lime green stripes, and my name on it in mettalic purple would be easy to find!
it's right there behind your Mt Dew....
ok I'm getting hungry...wish these kids would come in so I can finish cooking!
let me just state for the record....Lari Ann for president!
Does that mean two Aroids in every pot?
I just got home and then I heard a little knock on the door. It was the FedEx man. I have a note on my door that says to leave packages. If I am not here, they take it to the office. Sometimes they forget to leave a note and I had a package stay in that hot storage room for weeks. I guess the FedEx man thought I wouldn't be here because of the note. He gave me a package that said it was from Lisbon Laboratories. It kind of surprised me because I didn't think I had ordered anything. So I opened the package and guess what it was. . . ..
It was a Christmas cactus, Schlumbergera!!!!! For my birthday! Wow! And is it beautiful! It has good size blooms on it. It was from Julie/Smiley! Thank goodness she sent me pages of how to take care of it. As you know I do need help in that area. I can't tell you how surprised I was!!! It is so beautiful! I just love it! Love it!!!!
Thank you so much Julie!!!! You are a dear! (and sneaky!)
My son usually doesn't remember me even if I call him. But my aunt usually remembers me, sends a card, and writes a short note. This time she didn't write a note and that is not like her. I sure hope she is OK. She must be around ninety now. It seems like she is always busy taking care of some maintenace or problems with her house. Her house is always spotless, even when she says she hasnt't cleaned. She is meticulous in everything she does. My uncle died about 6 years ago.
Julie, thank you so much again!!!!! I will try to take very good care of it.
Hi Carol, how are you today?
I wish On the 2 aroids Dave, no when kitty destroyed all those plants and my tree philo I sent her an email explaining what happened and asked if they could be saved with pictures. I know that she is very busy and hadn't really expected her to answer back. Not only did she answer back but she called and talked me through all the ones that could be saved! And it turns out the person who sent me the tree philo kinda doomed it to start with because she cut the main tap root off! but Lari Ann said be patient this may or may not work and told me what to do to try and save it too! Yeah!!!!! and said if it doesn't work on the tree philo to let her know, she might be able to find me one without killing my plant allowance!
I am ok.
Dave you did some building yesterday and maybe today. Let us know what you have done so far. The colors of those leaves are beautiful! I am wondering, what plants you show us are wild and which ones are in your garden. How large is your garden? The last 2 phtos you showed us before your pepper plant are odd, interesting.
I just bought a pinneaple and acorn squash and they are sitting on my desk about 14" from my nose. The pinneapple smells so good!
Trina, I thought you had like 60 Croton starts, didn't you? What is this thing about a plant allowance?
