Hello hello - found my way!! ^_^

~Susan~

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Hello hello

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, yes a very good trip..was excited to get everything shipped out, got me some treasures and even managed another load of Christmas gifts.. while putting the outside decorations out on Sunday, I decided to at least get the Christmas tree downstairs..now to decorate...I've been ambitious, as I buy I wrap..lol...still a bedroom full to do but no time right now, perhaps on the weekend...

Cathy and her mom Rita dropped in last night..had a nice visit while I ate and worked...lol..they know I was on a time schedule...had bought a beautiful scarf and ring tie for Cathy from a designer..bought me one too...she's so good to look after the animals while I travel that it's a must to bring her back something special..seems Rita drops in as well, so a gift for her as well...

Rather tired this morning...worked on getting everything ready for my class up in MacTier tonight..lots to do, in bed just a few minutes afte 1:00 a.m. and up at 5:00...girls are here painting today so must clean the craft room before heading out....

Figure it will be close to midnight by the time I get home from teaching...

Looking forward to the evening though as it will be like a reunion with all the girls that would help me out on committee's and events when I was Director up there... I'll enjoy getting hugs/squeezes..lol..can never have to many of those...

Sending prayers Tubby..hugs for you Shirley...

Waving bye/bye, still lots to do..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Guess you don't want to hear about Christmas yet right? Sorry, but it is coming you know....lol

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

oooooooooooh is that your Christmas tree up already, Betty?!?!?!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Man, I kinda wish our Thanksgiving was a little earlier in the year so we'd have more time....

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Betty, my tree is still in the car! Had to buy a new one this year.I have a few things to do before I put it up!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Audrey, you still have Thanksgiving to contend with...did you get a pre-lit... bought the one for front deck and living room boxing day when all the sales were on..great time to buy them....main one in basement, well let's just say when Greg carried the box over to me from storage I put it together, fluffed every branch only to realize it wasn't the outdoor deck tree...so yep..it's up and pressies starting to make it look like Christmas....I'm an early bird that's what I am...

Have some girls coming on Saturday for a project, maybe Sunday if weather co-operated I'll decorate it and go pick up all the greenery for my live arrangements..must do it before the snow flies, remember last year, fell in a frozen ditch, couldn't get out, almost froze to death..lol

Not this year!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

o my goodness....... I remember that "feat" Betty..... no more falling in ditches, young lady!!

~Susan~

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, your place will be so n icely decorated for all who visit. I too wish we had an earlier Thanksgiving, so we had a longer season for Christmas! Hubby would have a fit, but oh well, I have already told him Christmas is my time of year, he can have the house back after New Years.

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Dear Friends:
Well, it's been a very ling day. It's been tuff on Tubby, very emotional and has quite a rattle in his chest. He was so weak tht P.T. wasn't able to even walk him a little bit today.I just found out that he has a pleural effusion in both lungs and I was't told that at all. I am not a happy camper and you can believe that I will let it be known tomorrow. I will be insisting on reading his chart, and I'm not backing down at all. I don't like it when they are not honest with me.
It sounds as if they are planning to do a Craniotomy again to try and get a better sample and figure out what kind of bug this is. I wish they could figure things out. It has been hard for him to keep the faith, but I have enough for both of us.
Betty, you are such as dear, that bunny is absolutely adorable and Tubby shed some tears when I told him who it was from. He was able to tell those that asked who you were (that's good). The card was darling also. We want to thank everyone who made a card and sent it and to Mindy03 for the beautiful lap robe. Tubby shed tears again this morning as we were showing it to him. He is such a trooper and tries to stay strong, but I know that he is so scared from things we talk about, and I just tell him that they will be okay and we'll be home soon.
Well, I will close for now and let you all know what they decide to do and when and what we find out. Best wishes and Happiness to everyone and a HUGE THANK YOU !
With our love :Tubby & Shirley

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dropping in for quick hello...yep, my most favorite time of year!

Best of today...teaching a class with old friends and seeing the joy on their face having created 5 masterpieces...

Worse...niece has had to move back home..live in threatened her..now she and baby are with her parents..safe haven...

What did I lear...pays to have an almost sister in the court office...papers filed in hopes he won't come within miles of her...

Night night all...
Very tired..don't think I'll have to count sheep to go to sleep tonight...

Good Lord willing we'll gab tomorrow!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Shirley, my heart goes out to you and Tubby..you are right, it's the not knowing...I was so lucky (not luck exactly) that when Roger was ill, specialist kept giving me the run around..not knowing the medical field I took them at their word...a young intern one night spoke with me, told me to ask the doctor's exactly what was going on..when I said I was seeing changes he said if Roger lived for a few more days it would be a miracle...not hours before they had told me they'd let him come home...

So glad you have nursing, they'll not pull the wool over your eyes...know they don't always have the answers, but this time, let's hope they have some for you both...

Tell Tubby he's missed and to have faith, a lot of prayers are being said for him and you as well...

God bless and thanks for the update..

Baton Rouge, LA

Hugs to All -

Good to see you all here! Hope I don't miss anyone....Crissy, Susan, Trisha, Betty, Linda Kay, Audry...ETC!

BEV! Thanks for your reply...I just put some green bell peppers in the freezer whole...for some reason...our plants that did absolutely nothing all spring ....are ABUNDANT with peppers now..albeit...they are mostly too small to do anything with....

I've picked some that are 'Mid Range".....but we have SO many...just don't know what to do with them all...

It's crazy - ALL my basils have become invasive (but I love it...so I'm letting them grow!) my sweet basil....my lemon basil...they are taking over their little parts in the yard! This did not happen last year.....which was my "first gardening year"...

Gals - I'm NOT in the Christmas spirit at all as of yet.....I'm thinking about working out...for the second time in my life...(first time was about 20 years ago!) hA!

Best: Client VERY happy with results....wants me to present an Annual for 2010
Worst: Still stinging from mistake from weeks ago

LEARNED: Hmmm.....I think I am learning more that I can control my attitude...and that if I take charge of it.....good things happen......

Hugs To All,
Mary

Baton Rouge, LA

(((((((((((((((Tubby & Shirley))))))))))))))
You are dearly missed, and we all think of you often.
Thoughts, prayers, and all good things possible are sent your way, through all over the world. You're both so special.
Tubby dear - your jokes still float the airwaves and in our thoughts. You made so many laugh that we're now sending laughter bounced back to you. Laughter is the best medicine, they say. I believe it!
Have faith, both of you, and things will come about as they are meant to.

Bless you both,
~Susan~

Morning, lordy it was just hours ago that I posted..

Up and at it..having coffee and making a 'to do' list for today..I've a class tonight so I must get a few things at lunch hour..if I leave it to my memory I'll come home without half of what I need...

Here are the early birds, they were ready to start on time..that's always appreciated...5 more came in 1/2 hr. later, thankfully the other girls helped out in catching them up...

I especially enjoyed seeing Darren, he is Manager of the Community Center/Arena..omg it's already been 20 years since I initially hired him so had a nice visit!

On a few of the other tables, were 'Memorial Quilt' blocks..what a great idea for fund raising..already they've made $7,500 and the quilt is but 1/2 done...families pay $50 for the name of their loved one or family name to be included...organizations who wish a square pay $200.00

Lots of work goes in planning but they certainly are enjoying the process...

I've class tonight so I'm having coffee and making a 'to do' list...

Sailor has been ill several days, old age isn't being kind to her..of course in the entire house there is but 1 rug 6x8 in the living room and where does she want to be ill? you've got it, so going to pick one up at lunch...best of it I guess is a change in color..lol

Better get a move on...

Betty, my tree IS prelit, and only 4 1/2 ft. tall. It's going on my table, so I have to get all my crafts done before I put it out! Can't wait!

Hi...

Tubby and Shirley, Although ive not been on as of late, You both Are in my Prayers.
Tubby, you are so loved and missed. Wishing and praying they find out what the bug is and fix it.
Shirley, Thank you so much for keeping us updated. You both are incredible, Geesh, I am so glad you will be reading his chart.
Gosh, i don't get why they don't tell you everything, thats really scarey and maddening.

There's been some crazy stuff happening! Computer crashed, still trying to go through all the motions. Now got to reinstall Antivirus.
My car is still not right so continue running around with it.
Finished the temp job, the guy said i did a real good job.
Got teenager trouble, grrr nothing, that cell phone confiscation can't handle.
...With that I think our teen has been put back into place, yikes was a pretty rough day though.
omg Skittles still getting into mischif! Got her little claw stuck in a crevis of eagle statue.
Discovered she nuts about apples now too.

In mean time trying to read up on whatevery one is up to.
Betty, my goodness, loved seeing the photos of your Christmas decorating.
LOL, my favorite time of year to watch you being the energizer ELF! So busy. Seeing all that you do, really kind blows my busy into gear and get busier...Dunno, seams like whatever i accomplish is penuts compared to what you get done in a day...Wow, looked like you made out like a bandit on your trip[ to NY...That raccoon is really something! Now, i hope you will get some rest in between all the classes, but oh what fun.

So cute Audrey, I love to see you excited to finish crafts and get decorated up!

Trisha, OMG, Sage is just adorable with her little craft working table.

Where is LIZ!!!?

Debbie waving hello, can't remember if you posted about DD! Did surgery go well?

Mary, LOL Good for you with the client!! Big cheers. Well, I guess if your going to learn the best is from past mistakes. You keep up the good work. LOL about the garden, not being mean, just Herbs always seem a way of spreading and taking over, yikes, just like weeds.

Linda Kay, did you ever find a new sewing machine??

Barb, last ytou chatted you were making valances, I sure hope they turned out pretty. I made one once, lol...thought it came out nicely for first time...hahahaha, that was like 13 years ago! So what are you creating these days?

Crissy, hello kiddo, hope you are doing well...got to read all the threads to see what you been up to.

Susan, i sure hope by now you are feeling much better...

Waiving hello Bev, saw you got to working out in the nice weather! Too bad it ended as abrutly as it came, huh? But so glad you got tofinish up some outside work, how are your Christmas cards coming?

Oh, I got to work outside up at the house this past weekend too. Gosh it was just awsom in the upper 60's in Nov!! So took advantage and stripped the 4 chairs, next time will do the table and get everything sanded and painted. The wood is Yellow pine, I think so it will offset the dark floors, will be a nice contrast. I think.

And how thrilling, We saw our Eagles, flew right above us for several rounds, over the lake and back, what a sight!

Well, now 've written a book! LOL, did ya miss me???

Big Hugs to you all.
Enjoy the day.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Judy, this energizer bunny is running low on battery juice..lol
Rita and June called said they couldn't make painting class tonight so will call the others and I'm positive I'll be in bed by 7pm (unless I see something I need done urgently) imagine...no rest for the wicked it seems....Judy, you just have no idea as to how little sleep I get at this time of year...more you push yourself the more you can do...

Oh/oh no telephones for the teens, won't be easy for you to do that I'm sure...how is Steve doing O.k?

Almost lunch... going to the garden gallery, pricing greenery (did learn a lesson last year - better to buy greenery than risk one's life) ..have some girls coming over to do a project Sat. sooo getting ahead of things...so quiet here today, guess a lot are off for Remembrance Day, so think after lunch I'll put head back and snooze

Victoria Harbour, ON

Susan, because I will have a lot of workshops and also gathering of friends most weekends from now until Christmas, I have to have everything decorated, at least I think I do..always looks so pretty..once done I'll have to give you a tour..lol...

Ohhh cleaning cupboards, purging? shouldn't take long with a few of you...

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Obviously, other than today, I remember the uncle I never knew - however, today I remember him especially:

My uncle died in the 2nd WW.
Here's an excerpt from a book called A Place Of Honour:
"Singleton, Lance Corporal Benjamin W. of Eden (H 6256). Winnipeg Grenadiers. He died a prisoner of war 22 January 1943 at the age of 24 and is commemorated at the Sai Wan War Cemetery in Hong Kong."

A lake was named after him in northern Manitoba, called Singleton Lake.

In memory of him, and all the other young soldiers in each war (past & current) all around the world..... "Lest We Forget"

~Susan~

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Shirley, thanks so much for the updates on Tubby. We will all continue our prayers for you both, and for the Dr, to make the right decisions, and treatments!
Hey Judy, how you been. I am so glad we did not have cell phones whemn my kids were growing, the darn games were bad enough! My DIL just gave my 10 year old granddaughter a cell phone, and it is for "emergency only" calls... yeah right!
Betty, sounds like you are all booked for the rest of the year? BUSY little elf for sure! Please don't over do it?
Did you ever get your chimney fixed? I think you said a few weeks ago, it was bad work, and it was crumbling? Glad to hear your niece is OK. So many bad people out there today!
Take care everyone!

Happy Veteran's Day to all who have or are serving. We truly do appreciate all you have done and continue to do for us.
Tubby and Shirley, my thoughts are continuously with you. Norm and I send our love and prayers.
Judy sounds like you have had your hands full!!! I must admit, I'm glad mine are all past that teenager time...I'll post pictures of current projects tomorrow when I get my camera back...
Trisha did you ever finish your landscape or did Sage finish her Gerber Daisies? I was looking back yesterday and wondered what had happened with them...
Off for Veteran's Day exercises. Talk soon...

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

In Canada we call today "Remembrance Day", remembering those who have passed, in the wars.

~Susan~

Glenview, IL

Susan, It's really nice that you remember your uncle on this Remembrance Day.

Today, I remembered my Dad...Well, I thought of him this day, very sad that I don't know what exact war he was in because well I didn't know him or much about him...He gave me life, I am thankful for that and the fact he did serve our country.

The only thing I ever received from him was his flag at his funeral, I am his youngest child. And I proudly have his Flag on a shelf in my bedroom, will cherish it for as long as I live.

Anyway, Im a bit emotional tonight. I watched The movie Taking Chance. It made me think of a lot of people. I cried for the families who have lost sons or daughters in wars of past and of this time too. Personally, I am saluting Families and especially all who have fallen for the well being of People...I would Say Thank you with all my soul to all of our Troops.

I am quite sure there are so many DG members who have family and friends. There is one incredible lady I know as DustyDS.
This movie made me think of the remarkable memories of all the soldiers she has personally taken the time to record of their happening.
Here is one story, that I can only tell you by what I saw.
When I went on the Sistah trip to BJ in Texas. There, I sat in complete awe with tears streaming down my face as I heard The story of How Dusty was the commanding officer who happened to have BJ's, I believe brother in her troop. BJ's Brother was killed in the war and the family didn't know if he was alone, or quite what happened. Well, when everyone learned about Dusty, BJ was put in touch with her.
Guess what, Dusty in fact was with her brother and held him, as he went home. She made it a point to do this with all her beloved soldiers, kept a complete record of their incidents...Dusty gave Brenda and her family closure, after so many years they knew their loved one was not alone...She has put many a peoples mind at Ease. and today, I am especially proud to have seen and felt that love so pure, I am racked with sobs. The Heartfelt Hugs i witnesses from Dusty to Brenda "ordered" to be given by Joyce was one of the most incredible scenes I could ever be privledged to witness...
OMG, I have a picture of that...will have to look.

May God Bless ALL of our troops and all the Dusty's of the world.
With Love and Peace
Judy

Thank you Judy -- We ALL need to know what a wonderful, caring community DG is for each of us. To be able to connect with each other in such a way is just amazing. I, too, am in awe of Dusty and all she has done for her fellow man. She is the most sensitive, caring person I've heard of in a long time. I'm especially happy to know she is now HOME in Ga. and that life is good for her. She sure deserves it...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Judy, you brought me to tears...so many stories to be told isn't there...

Ooooh had to scrape ice off the windshielf...cold but sunny..

Was up early this a.m. and in the bush cutting greenery and redwood twigs...ok/ok know I promised I wouldn't but the urge was there and besides I had an hour to kill...lol

Dropped in local restaurant for coffee this am and Doug from the snowmobile shop was in having coffee..I've known him for about 30 years..was just in his teens at the time working for the dealership, he's now the owner...said Greg was in on Monday giving them all his snowmobile info, a 'would like list'...Doug was laughing at Greg as Greg was positive his mom would be in any day for the trail permit and snowmobile clothing purchase ...too cute, am going in tomorrow and finish his Christmas gift list...boy, do my boys know me or what...

Tonight if portrait night, forgot my glasses at home, will have to go find a $$$ store pair to get me through my class...

So what do you have planned for the day?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Serious family difficulties these past few days...sure could use some prayers for my niece...this morning I'm working and looking after this pretty one...

Betty my prayers are going out to the family. That's so sad, but hopefully she'll make a better life for herself and the baby.

Got my mom on the phone and she is livid at the doctors office. Someone put on the operative report that she has muscle spasms and needs physical therapy. She is so mad she said she's seeing red. This is supposed to be the report that tells the nerve doctor what she just had done and what else needs to have done. She said she's going not going to give the nerve doctor the report unless she absolutely has to.

Hello To All;

Judy - I do know and sympathize with Teen Troubles. Seems like everything else can be going smoothly and then out of the 'blue'....you've got to deal with some new kind of drama...Good thing you got a handle on it ...and quickly....
You're right about the herbs! I've got sweet basil all over the path and lemon basil all over the (used to be) garden...but I LOVE it...they give off such a Great fragrance...I'm not even going to weed them...let 'em be... :)

Susan - how sad...yet how wonderful for you to remember him as you do. I did call my Dad...but he was probably at hospital with his wife.....she's still not in the clear from the motorcycle accident. Dad was career Air Force and Viet Nam Vet.

Betty - my prayers for you and niece....

Hello Bev, LK, Crissy, ETC!

Well - DS High School is in the PLayoff's tomorrow...in Lake Charles Louisiana...which is about 2 hours from Baton Rouge.

After a week of trying to figure out stuff....I remembered I have a client in Lafayette (One hour towards Lake Charles) who has a new furniture store. I emailed and made an appointment to visit with him and tour his new location....emailed my boss...who thought it was a Good idea!

So Voila! An 'excuse' to head towards the game! I packed up my Band Booster shirt and Camera....After visiting the client and perhaps a few more prospects...OMG! I'm only an hour away! I'll head over to cheer on the WHS Panther Band. Love how it all worked out.

Will this be my last chance to hear my Drumline Captain DS with the WHS Marching Band? Stay tuned :) We'll see...

Hugs to all,
Mary
