Oh, boy! We won't hear the end of it now!

Anyone hear about that cat that got the H1N1 virus? Guess we gotta worry about our pets getting it now, too.

Karen

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, I heard. We just have to assume we will all get it, unless vaccinated.

I sent in my DNA to the Nat Geo thing. Can't wait to see the results. They will trace my paternal lineage all the way back to Africa.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Wow, that sounds cool, Victor! You'll have to let us know what they say.

Karen

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Sure will.

Have you seen this story? Poor thing is so ugly!

Done voting. Felt like more of a chore this year.

Newport News, VA(Zone 11)

Victor, can you send me the link for the DNA thing? I want to do mine too.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Sure - here you go:

Newport News, VA(Zone 11)

Thanks. I like the research aspect of this study. Its purpose is admirable.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Me too. I will be part of it.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Victor, Shouldn't this be #27?

Great that Andy, Jorge, Derek & Mo were all so involved.

He didn't seem to make anyone's top 2 list, but I thought Johny Damon was series MVP

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

He was definitely up there - with Jeter and Matsui.

Sacramento, CA(Zone 9a)

Matsui hit .615 in the World Series with 3 home runs and 8 RBI which is really impressive given that he couldn't DH for the 3 games in Philadelphia. Jeter had a good series too and Damon's double steal a couple nights ago was a huge turning point, but it would have been a travesty if anyone other than "Godzilla" won the award.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I have a problem with Godzilla winning an award in the city where Kong climbed the big building. That just ain't right.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

utley should have won the mvp

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

And Buckner should have in '86.

Thomaston, CT

Jeter should get MVP---he was consistent game after game, all season. I couldn't fall asleep after the game---too wound up---and I'm a Mets fan!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Bill really was hoping for Jeter.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

right victor - guy hits five bombs and single handling won two games

Thomaston, CT

I know you find Jeter creepy, Bill, but you don't have to live with him----he's fun to watch even though he's no spring chicken.

Sacramento, CA(Zone 9a)

Bill, I have to disagree with you on Utley deserving the MVP. Cliff Lee should have taken the award home. ^_^

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

The losing team rarely ever gets it.

Sacramento, CA(Zone 9a)

I know. I can't remember that ever happening, but Utley and Lee really were standouts in the series. I agree with Matsui getting the trophy, but Utley and Lee were both more "valuable" to the Phillies than Matsui probably was to the Yankees. Without Utley and Lee, the Phillies probably wouldn't have won a single game.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

It has. Bobby Richardson, a Yankee, was the last to get it in '60.

Sacramento, CA(Zone 9a)

No kidding? I learned something new then. That had to be a weird feeling for Richardson to lose the series but win an award.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

who is the only football player on the losing team to win the MVP of the superbowl?

sox i stand corrected and agree

Sacramento, CA(Zone 9a)

Chuck Howley?

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

you are correct! linebacker for the cowboys

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - I would have picked Lee, with Ut close behind.

Sacramento, CA(Zone 9a)

I can't see that happening ever again. Not unless the linebacker happens to intercept a couple passes and return them for touchdowns.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Oh, that poor bear! Looks like something from a horror movie.

Karen

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I know. And I'm sure the other bears are teasing.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Actually, the article said all the female bears at that zoo have lost their hair. Odd!

Karen

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Utley might have deserved it. Lee pitched one great and one good game--not enough IMHO.
Matsui played half the games, half the time (offense only)
Damon batted 384, scored 6 times, had 4 RBIs and the biggest at bat of the series followed by a once in a lifetime double steal. Of course, you could never go wrong giving it to Mo

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Not to mention Damon has that cromagnon thing going on above his eyes. Looked even better when he was on the Sox.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

LOL! You know, he looks just like one of the cave men in the Geico commercials!

Karen

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - he used to.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Victor, I don't know how you managed to do all your voting in one day. I'm on it three days now and just barely past halfway through. I agree about those that are writing novels, Geesh! Oh, and those that sign theirs, either in the text or on the photo. That irks me so much, I deliberately vote against the photo. Sigh... so many more to go....

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Oh yeah, meant to add that I can't wait to see this endowed lizard y'all are talking about.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I did not finish in one day. Spread it over parts of three. Finished this am.
