Have had regular flu shot. However I think some of us older ones were exposed to h1n1 type through a couple of seasons way back. I have asthma so will do what DR. says. However not scheduled to see him until Dec. I was in for a regular cold last april & put on meds which work, also send my blood sugar soaring. therefore I am more watchful than when I was younger.
Coffee Break #21 - World Series time!
That's what they're saying her too irisMA that seniors were exposed in the early 50s so have some immunity and if they have no other high risk factors they can wait. Moo & E who are in their 80s have had their regular flu shot and their Doc is saying they can wait too. E told me that FINALLY there is a bonus to being 86! He's soooo funny ^_^
Great Punkin Update. Apparently La Gran Calabaza lives in Mexico in a prado de sincero. Who KNEW? I was so excited about the NJ lead but alas it was a rumour sigh. Although I wouldn't be surprised if he visits onewish this year ^_^
There are lots of unexplained things in NJ!
The Twins have a shortstop who is supposed to be the world's best. That is according to the coaches, etc.
The trick is, he don't even attempt plays that are on the difficult side. He makes plays that look terrific but would be routine for other players.
I hope all you sick people take good care of yourselves & get well quick!
Bernie
Although I wouldn't be surprised if he visits onewish this year
Thats so sweet! I wouldnt be surpised either :-)
victor i realize that i do not have any immune system for N1H1 - remember wife is an RN and i have heard it before - strong healthy body though - and the added benefit of being out of work is i do not socialize with a bunch of potentially sick people.
Ok 2 1/2 games into the basketball season - the celtics could go undefeated this year - heard it here first!
Yay for unemployment!!! If someone goes to shake my hand these days I whip out my thermometer and say, 'Bend over!!'
I just got home from a little drive...........to Allison's spooktacular, fiendishly fun, frightful and delightful Halloween extravaganza....
WOW WOW WOW!! What a great job Allison and Randy did with their decorations. Actually decorations is an understatement. They even had billows of smoke rolling across the ghoulish, ghastly graveyard :) I give them a vote for the best in the entire Northeast!
O venu I'm so jealous I'm greeeeeeeeeeeeen that you got to see it. Onewish and Randy have you thought about a road tour? Broadway shows come to Cowtown on tour all the time and they aren't as fabby as you. Just a hopeful thought.
thanks guys... and Weeze it was an honer you guys came all the way up here to see this stuff... it was so great seeing you and Jack!!!
D-nut Randy said it sounds like a good idea to him.. we just need a really big trailer
:)
here are some videos for anyone who like some metal music.. I got tired of the fluffy stuff.. had to go to my roots

Thanks all for your concerns and good advice, i've asked the doctor and he is on the list. It seems we have a shortage of vacines here and he is not considered a 'child' because he's 29. Doesn't matter his mentality is at child level, high risk children and pregnant women are first I guess.
The reason im really nervous? He needs to have surgery before Thanksgiving and the hospital is in a high risk area. They have widespread H1N1 right now. I want this shot before he enters the hospital!!!

Oh boy - best of luck with all, Celeste.
Thanks Victor, I just need to stay positive. ^_^ Sometimes I struggle. LOL
Allison that was MARVELOUS! I wish I lived closer....I too would of traveled to see it. Lucky Weeze!
Sounds like a great mom to me!
Thanks Victor.
Good wishes and blessings for you and your son Celeste!
Hi Harper! Thanks! How ya been? Keeping busy? I've got a peony to plant today, pretty excited as i've wanted it for 2 years!!!
Bartzilla http://www.whiteflowerfarm.com/35389-product.html
But I certainly didn't pay the price they want for it!!
Thanks for the reminder Victor.
Does anyone else have local people running for office knocking on their door??! It drives me crazy. I might put a sign near the mailbox warning them away. I am really tempted to fling the door open and stand there stark naked!
Hi Celeste! It's beautiful!!! I'm glad to hear you didn't fork over the $245. Geez!
My brother was here for a few days, so I spent the week prior cleaning the house. I took him to The Met art museum and was reminded why I love art so much!
Celeste, your loving heart helps him fight off those bugs. Good luck.
I have Tamiflu and it didn't do anything for me. However, I probably started it over 48 hours into my illness and I already had pneumonia. Tamiflu is meant to shorten your time with the flu by 36 hours. Weird ain't it.
Maybe we need a Jeter hater thread?
Yes - probably too late. As an anti-viral, it won't do diddly for your pneumonia.

Good idea with the naked thing Victor! Last year, a woman politician came knocking on my door because she wanted to put her sign up on my lawn. I live in a high-visible area on the main road that goes to the voting booths. I wasn't a supporter of hers, so I said no. Turns out, this last year she was elemental in fighting the county against putting a parking lot in the woods across the street from my house. I told her she could put her sign in my yard now!
Other than her, I've never had anyone come knocking on my door. I have had robo-calls though. They drive me nuts.
Yes - tons of those calls. Of course they are exempt from the do not call list.
Grrrr... well, I'd run for office if only to change that rule!
Well I figure, if they're asking me to pull their lever...
Do you get robo calls on off-year elections like this one? Thank God our locals are not that high tech.
Yes, Dave. Local races.
OMG!
Umm my OMG! was regarding the voting hardware, not the robo calls
Hee hee. I figured that!
So this is the reason?!!

Oh so now they'll say you can't sue them for causing an accident they have a medical excuse.
Probably.
well we bumped up our door bell rings this year.. had about 30 last year.. 84 this year.. we had so much fun today with the kids... love to see the jaw wide open as they look around... a few we could tell they weren't too sure if this was all ok or not.. but the one that made me laugh the most was a younger dad saw the smoke machine come on and ran for the cloud... and started dancing around in it... cracked me up... and my favorite costume was a kid with a home made costume ... looked like an astronaut and had a home depot white bucket on his head with the face part cut out.. very cool... too bad it was raining on and off all day.. but all in all.. we had a great and exhausting day... hope you all had a good one too!
Glad you had a good time.
84!! Wow!! That's a big jump. Bet it would've been a lot higher if the weather was better. We had less than usual today. I wonder what your electricity bill is...
not looking at the electric bill... LOL... it was the first time since we have been here that we had so many kids.. we saw parents actually drop the kids off on the corner in cars and let them get the block done.. then take them somewhere else.. I wonder if the pick up in numbers is only because of the weekend.. we were getting nervous we had wayyy too much candy.. we only had one kid by 4:00.. after 6:00 is when they all came
I had two kids show up. I told them that they were my only trick or treaters, so they got huge handfuls of candy. The one boy got so excited and told me that they always come to our houses for that very reason. Smart kids!
As word of mouth spreads, I'm sure your count is going to continue to tick up every year Allison.
Go Yankees!
