it kills the stuff that attacked her tomatoes venice
GYPSIES REMEMBER BASIL part 3
You put it in the sun? I have different types of soil in a bin I want to use for early spring planting. Is that something I need to do for it.
it helps, I think but wait and ask Moon tomorrow, cause I'm Not sure
No yours should be fine. This is actually a spot in the backyard we till up for our garden, so its not potting soil or anything. Just plain ole Illinois dirt and clay.
Ok. Is it your bedtime now?
tomorrow I need to get off my but and get busy! I say that everyday and then something always happens to change my mind
Well, has that greenhouse been worked on recently?
I have had the same problems with my tomatoes for the last couple years even when I moved the garden spot.
Was told bacteria and spores stay in the soil and then the wind could carry it so that is why I could still get it, so try to solarize the spots and that should help.
Have heard it will work and have heard it won't. Just decided to try it.
So I would say if you haven't had any problems you shouldn't need to do it.
no it's starting to irritate me....badly, but I know what he;s doing that has made it delayed, so I do understand why, I just want it done!
oh well. anyhow once all my trading is done, and everything is here or has been shipped that needs to be, I am definately going to have to do a recount, especially on seeds! I've traded so many off to get different stuff, that my brain hurts from counting!
See you in the morning
I'll just say Morning to lynnie and smiley now cuz they'll be up and gone before I even get out of bed!!
LOL on that JJ
JJ, I heard that that dusty mildew spores go in the soil and you can never get rid of them. I had it really bad on my marigolds and I had lots of them. All I know to do is spray my flowers early in the season and just keep spraying them. Was it you or Moon gave me that recipe. I thought it was more for preventitive. So that is why I will spray even before I see anything.
so have you got all your new plants put up where you want them?
JJ and Trina, night to you both. Sleep well! Get a lot of rest! And have sweet dreams!
I am heading for bed also.
night Venice!
I think so. I just squeezed them closer together. So I will save that white table for spring I guess. I will really need it then. I took 2 Naproxen this afternoon and I didn't have pain for close to 4 hours. It wears off quickly! I can't wait for all that bending tomorrow!! Pain!
Trina, the only thing you have to do are your bulbs that go outside right?
Just get those bulbs done and nothing else. Everything else can wait until another day.
yeah pretty much 4 little bags of bulbs, some raspberries, and put something down for mulch
oh crackers no.....I forgot Toni is sending me a box of rose starts, and I still have rose cuttings to put in
You can wait on the mulch I think. I read where you can wait until the ground is frozen to put it down. Moon can't help us with that with her LA weather. I will look it up tomorrow because I will need that info also.
If you haven't gotten Toni's yet, just don't think about that now!
Don't fuss around with the bulbs or the cuttings. Just get them in the ground and I know you know what you should do with them.
We will talk tomorrow. Night!
the only thing I'm really concerned with mulching is the roses
night sleep well
Good Morning, Rise & Shine!
Up & at 'em, Lynnie!
I have the whole day off! It's supposed to be nice today here. I have the feeling I'm gonna be like a kid that gets $5 and wants to buy the store full of toys. I'm not going to get everything done that I want to.
Venice, I got that powdery mildew on my black eyed susan's this year. I have a pot with some bee balm that had it, and I think it traveled to them. I know I'm gonna have of a heck of a time getting rid of it. I cut the B.E.S.'s down and I can still see it. Gonna try to find something a little stronger than the soap stuff, because I did that and it's still there.
I think I'll try JJ's method. I've done that before just to kill the grass to start a bed (DH's digging a bed thing), I can't get him to do the lasagna bed thing, I don't know why.
Moon, I love that picture. DS is a turtle freak, he has a Russian Tortoise. When we went to Boston this summer we went to the Aquarium, they had some amazing stuff. Here's some live coral, or something along those lines. I think it's some kind of anenome.
Everyone have a good day!
Morning Smiley! Morning all!
I'm behind on the threads, on housework, on groceries, on yard work aaargh! I don't even KNOW what the weather's been like here! I worked 22 hours the last 2 days.
Step 1 Coffee
Step 2 Gym
Step 3 Bills (oops forgot about those the past 2 weeks....)
oh we had a herd of ladybugs in the house yesterday (do they travel in herds?) I guess they were looking for a winter home...kids said they swept them outside.
Morning everybody (whos awake anyway!)
morning Trina. I'm trying to figure out my game plan for the day. It goes fast!
yeah kids have a half day...plus I have parent teacher conference....it's one short day!
That will fly by lickety-split, Lynnie. I took the day off and you know how that goes... 1,000 different things you want to do and end up not being able to do nearly what you want to.
Whatcha doing today, Trina?
Trina must be off in the other forums, looking for homeless plants ;)
when I get a few days off in a row I wear myself out trying to get everything done! Good luck on your list, we'll see later how much we got accomplished today....
Good morning Ladies....Looks like you two are gonna have an exquisite fall day today. No matter what you decide on, make sure you have a little fun in the process....grin
Lynnie, I think that is called a "frustration" of lady bugs....grin
Have a great day....supposed to rain here the next 3 days....arthritis says they are right....two finger typing this morning...
Aspirin and coffee...breakfast of champions....grin
Smiley.....hope the silly check folks take a break today.....grin
Later, Moon
Moon, hope you feel better. Do you know about the gin-soaked raisin thing?
http://www.peoplespharmacy.com/2005/10/18/gin-soaked-raisins-for-arthrit/
I am rearranging houseplants and car parts, today Smiley, or at least that's what I intend to do anyhow
okay, let's all get moving then! time's a-wasting!
For me, anyhow. Gonna go get a move on. See you later.
bye Julie! I'll be lurking in and out all day....so be warned I'm watching you and your plant jokes! Yeah I saw that lynnie! LOL
I was not familiar with the gin and raisin remedy, Julie. Have to think about that one...grin Don't really feel bad, just an aggravation...gets in the way and slows things down....gonna do my stretches and slather on the Myoflex before I get started.....mind over matter....grin
my usually very lazy kitty is in a playful mood today
front valance for a 71 LeMans....the couch, I'll use the couch, 48 ford bell housing, 49 Ford Flatheads, 72 chevelle front bumper......you think if I fill up the furniture with his car parts he'll get the point? I doubt it
I didn't make any plant jokes Trina.
My sunroom is intoxicating with the smell of brugs. Lordy, I may just sit in there all day!
I know... go outside. It's a tad early though. Don't know if the neighbors are ready for me.
I GP'd a really nice pot that someone threw away this morning. Forgot, this is the time of year people throw their annuals away, pot & all! And it was from Angela's friends' house (I drop her off there in the am to catch a ride to school). She'd die if she knew..
oh well, some of those pots can get expensive!
