GYPSIES REMEMBER BASIL, pt 2

(Zone 5b)

oh also, whoever wants the edible play doh recipe it is equal parts dry powdered milk, peanut butter, and honey (some substitute confectionary sugar for honey) just remember no honey for kids under 1 (probably no play doh either, choking hazard) and obviously kids with peanut allergies can't have it.

(Zone 5b)

Hi Dave how are ya? I'm going to try to get back to sleep.

(Zone 5b)

wake up wake up Smiley! Guess I'm leading the charge.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Yow Lynnie!! Did you get back to sleep or have you been up all this time?

Peanut butter, honey, powdered milk. Got it!

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Venice, the white snapdragons get about 12" tall then they lay down and root and grow from the rooting part again, but that part won't get as tall. The red ones are about 6-8" tall.

They are actually seeds that must have blown around because I had them in my window boxes last year, so I didn't save the sticks. Didn't know they'd be around this year...

I think the white ones were rocket snapdragons.

(Zone 5b)

I dozed...I'm pretty beat.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Good Morning Everybody!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Morning,
Lynnie the factory was Admiral when I started and Maytag when it shut down. Made refrigerators, deep freezes and dehumidifiers when I started in 1974 and only refrigerators when it shut down in 2004.

Bad thing for these parts and two other major factories in same town shut down also.

Only good thing was goverment paid for schooling for most people affected by it. But at age 50 and up you don't really want to start over in school.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Morning JJ

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Morning trina,
Got to get GS ready for school and me to work, so talk at ya later.
Enjoy the warm weather, but don't over do it!!

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

I will enjoy it and I wont overdo it

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Good morning Gypsies and Friends.

Lynnie, know you are worn slap out after last night....cat naps only work for cats, evidently...grin

JJs, Trina good morning to ya....hope the sun is shining and the wind is still.

Smiley, let's catch some crooks today...any hopes of figuring out who done it??? Today's mantra....check the bank, check the bank, check the bank, bank, bank......Tuesdays are busy bank days....grin

I hope something nice happens to each of you today...large or small, something to make you smile.

Moon

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

You too, Moon.

RE the bank, what usually happens is that if these people can get a few unsuspecting people to send them a few thousand, they close up shop and start again with a new phone number, PO box, etc... chances of actually catching them are slim, unless it was a nationwide effort between law enforcement agencies.

SO EVERYONE REMEMBER - IF YOU WIN SOMETHING BIG, THE LETTER WILL COME CERTIFIED MAIL AND YOU SHOULD NEVER HAVE TO SEND SOME OF IT BACK FOR ANY REASON.

I just can't believe people are taken in by this stuff.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Smiley, in the past couple weeks I have gotten 5 e-mails telling me 1) a reclusive long lost uncle has died and left me a fortune, 2) I have won the Spanish lottery, 3) government records indicate I have a large amount of unclaimed money in an old checking account and for a small bank fee.... 4) I am a winner in the Irish Sweepstakes and 5) a wealthy Texas oilman has randomly chosen me and 9 other fellow Americans to receive his inheritance and all I need to do is give them my bank account number and SSN so they can process my check .

If it sounds too good to be true, it isn't true, and how can you win something you never entered? These things prey on greed and desparation and are never gonna pay you a dime, but may cost you everything you have worked and saved for.

Yup, special place for these folks....

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Smiley I'm with you. Don't know how they don't wonder why if they won it you would have to send some back after check is cashed. Why don't they at least think " why wouldn't they just send the check for the amount I won".

But I guess with times being hard and harder for some they just want to believe its true.

Was a lady while back in town here got a phone call that the gov. was giving her a couple thousand dollars all she had to do was give her bank account and they would deposit it for her.
She did, but luckily being such a small town when they tried to take money out of her account the bank stopped it to check out what was going on because she never used the ACH before.

Off to work Have a great Day and don't work to hard.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Me too Moon.

If I could actually collect all the money waiting for me to claim, that I only have to pay processing fees for, or so they can send it without customs checking it ( ya right) we all could retire and live very well.

Gotta go Bye

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

well I guess I'm all alone again...LOL

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Going to look for something to eat.
Later All

Keaau, HI

Good morning everyone! Aloha aku!

Last Spring on this website (Dave's) I received an ad that said "Congradulations! You are the 999,999th member to enter this website. You have just won a free laptop computer. Click on this button to claim your prize."

Not thinking that it was a set-up on Dave's, I went to claim the prize. I had to give them my address for starters; after entering that a list of things came up that I was "required" to do to get the prize, which all included buying a bunch of crap that I didn't want, and I could never leave the site as more offers would just keep coming up and I could not back out of it. I turned off the computer to stop the misery.

Since then I have received an endless flow of Spam-mail, and that was the start of a bunch of virus problems. Thankfully folks on the Gypsy thread (especially Kassy) helped me deal with the virus and spyware junk.

I learned my lesson there; I'll never answer another ad on any website!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

That is pretty much the case with all of those FREEBIE ads....the best thing to do is remember....you never get something of value for nothing. Those ads are geared to wear you down and get you to subscribe or buy to make them go away.
Guess it lends credence to the old adage "you get what you pay for"

Have a good afternoon all...back into the fray....if I sit here I will go to sleep.....late night, early morning...grin

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

so is your computer clean now Dave?

there is a website that has a pretty good free adware program: (www.lavasoft.de) The program was called ad-aware, it would take off all those nasty trojans & worms. We used to use it on our network at work, but ended up getting a new virus detection program that had an incorporated spyware program with it.

"let the winner beware"

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

My brain hurts!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Does "system restore" on a computer clean up all that stuff??

Keaau, HI

Enjoy the "fray" Jean!

Hi Smiley, I have Avast antivirus and Webroot Spysweeper. They are keeping my computer working now.

What bothered me about the whole thing was that it was on Dave's, I was used to not answering spam. Never expected that Dave's would allow such a thing to advertise here.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Thanks Dave....I have wild blackberry tangled in my hair.....ugh, I hate weeds...grin

Keaau, HI

Hi Carol, I believe that system restore just returns your computer to a former configuration. It does not kick the viruses out.
