Phyllis, so nice to see you and know you and BJ are okay. We miss you girls!
My overnight babysitting of the two grandsons fell through so I had a nice evening hosting a spaghetti dinner for my M&D and B&SIL. They came at 4:15 and stayed until 7:00. Mom made a lemon pie (I'm so grateful that she feels up to baking again). Then a quiet evening in front of the boob tube. I cleaned my house yesterday and I was bushed!!
Donna, your mom certainly looks like a classy lady. I can tell how proud you are of her. When I lived in Reynoldsburg we used to go to Old Man's Cave every fall and cook chili after our hike. Oh those are some wonderful memories... Jaye IS coming to Ohio in June 2010, and hopefully you'll plan on making the trip here to see her and Kel. Once you meet them, they will be so close to your heart. You think you're close to them until you hug them...then YOU'RE HOOKED!!! :o) I feel so close to all the sistahs I've met in person.
The Dr. put me on Feldine for my arthritis and it seems to be doing a good job. I only had to take 3 Advil yesterday instead of the dozen I usually take! Color me happy.
Speaking of color, you should see the trees here today. The sun is shining and they are just glowing!
Morning! Randall's got the coffee on, smells oh so good, and oranges sliced, nice and sweet and juicy. He's got the bacon done to his taste and has some cooking crisp for me now. y'all head on over for a nice Sunday brunch! as soon as my pills are done with (still got 20 minutes to go), I'm putting the eggs on. How do y'all take yours? It's so chilly today, think I'll go ahead and put on some grits right now!
Another missed church morning. oh well. Keep telling Randall I made up for it all those times I had to play 3 and 4 services a week... LOL
Biofreeze got my back doing OK so I went soundly to sleep right after my last post. we had almost a record warm day yesterday, cold front today. it's down a good 30 degrees. does anyone know how to type the little raised o for degree symbol? I used to know that.
bj surely is missed. can't wait to see her latest bottle creations. Phyllis, I've missed your wit just as much.
Hey taters - I've been popping in and out, not exactly so very MIA.
what's in Ohio in June?
Joyce it will depend on when in June.. My mom is planning another trip home that month already so it will be warm.. How far are you from Lncaster? I have no idea where franklin is.. May have to come up and bear hugg you all..
Bon lucky you. I love Sunday brunches like those.. Ill take my eggs scrambled or a cheese omlet please.. LOL Im glad your back was relieved alittle bit and you were able to get some rest.. Im just working on cleaning up and doing laundry before I venture outside for any work.. I think Im gonna build a bed for iris, daylily and hosta.. LOL Already have the boards just need alittle soil and I will be all set to start planting,,
hooooo boy - you're right about missing stuff, when you miss one day!!
It's all I can do to keep up with those of my sistahs I know well, but it seems there are some returning peeps I haven't properly met yet, so I'm TOTALLY confused lol
I'm looking forward to "meeting" you all in repeated postings ^_^
Came home from church to find a parcel at my door, of brug cuttings!! ^_^ Some only do well when planted directly in soil, so I have to sort through them.......
♫♪♪♫♪♫
~Susan~
LOL sssshhhhhhh ((((don't tell Ruth Jean. I never label my pantry glass jars. Think that was Cream of Wheat, not grits.....)))))))) LOL
It was a nummy brunch, Donna. I'm an awesome egg chef. I could make that omelet with white american, swiss, or sharp cheddar.
what a day! free cannas on craigslist, farmer had plowed them up and piled them up like compost. Have a request for help saving them over on the canna forum, and pickup bed is full. that was such a cool place, a gentleman's farm 20 mins. due north, with dogs, horses, and goats! neat as a pin and well maintained. older couple as sweet as can be.
They'd had a large patch of irises near the road until someone stopped and dug them all up! their neighbor saw it happening and called a warning, but as soon as they opened their door, the fella took off. can you imagine? y'all will love this - I found an iris in the canna pile, very healthy and fat. Left it for her inside their garage. She'd mentioned they had very few left. I'm going to email her some planting directions right now.
Hello ladies,
not deserting you at all. My head's been in a vice since last night.
Missed church this evening, can't sit for too long :(
Then FIL fell and that means no more excursions further than 30 miles.
If I were to write any further, it will just depress everyone here.
So, I'll just rant to the Good Lord.. He knows what to do ;)
Oh Jaye, I am so sorry to hear Murdock fell and about your head being in a vice. That vice seems to have visited several of us lately so don't worry about getting us down. You are there when we need you so in return we are here now. Don't you ever forget that!!!!
Susan Lucky you I Love Brugs.. In florida I had 12 varieties and I somehow ran out of room so they couldnt come along for the move.. So they went to knew homes .. Please post pics when they bloom..
Bon what a score on those cannas.. you sure do keep busy and even better you saved her an iris.. I bet she smiled so ig to see that and when it blooms she will think of you..
O Umm white american cheese omlet please.. YUMMM
Jaye so sorry to hear your head hurts.. I I could make it go away I would in a flash .. (((huggs))) Hve your FIL in our prayers and we will be here when you wanna rant just let it out.. lord knows I have hats what we are here for..
Waving at Marion from far far away.. How is Florida weather treating you?
Well spent my afternoon working in the yard,, Filled the rest of my raised bed, cleaned out the darn walnuts the squirrels left for me, Re-vmped the Iris bed on the back of the house, Max mowed just kept busy.
This bed I cleaned out and finished planting.. No More room so I need to build another raised bed ... Eventually I plan to have 3 beds the same size through there so we can use pvc and hoop house it .. Th emiddle bed I want to do as sand for cuttings and possibly mist.. Big dreams but I figure one project at a time.. Plus I love boken bag soil and mulch at lowes...
Jaye you take care of your self......sorry to hear about Murdock's fall...tell him to take care also.
Phylis we miss you guys....tell BJ she could drop in to just to say hi once in awhile!
Very strange day.....we did our regular 25 mile Sunday ride....rode a bit harder than usual. Went to lunch with group and had a good time but was tired and Cold, it had been trying to rain all morning. Decided to stretch out on the sofa under a blanket while Bill got his bath....I woke up at five!!! Couldn't believe I fell asleep and slept for that long!.....I went to tell Bill I had to go pick Sage up from a Birthday Party and HE was asleep!! Guess we are getting too old for that much fresh air and exercise all at once!
Have a good night everyone.
Lol Trish, I hate it when that happens! To the best of us however
Phylis it's so good to see you post, been wondering about you, and BJ's keeping busy with her two exchange students. Seems she's having a good time with them...
Well was a beautiful weekend, worked outside, went shopping, the whole shoot and shebang while poor Dave worked. I feel so bad he's working so much and he's so tired and grumpy, but we both took next Friday off so we can see each other and he can get some work done outside that I can't seem to do.
See ya'll tomorrow!
Oh Susan, you lucky dog you! lol
Good night everyone. Tomorrow will be a better day!
Night Jaye....(((Hugs))).
oh Jaye - sorry to hear about Murdock's fall....... poor man!
Take good care of yourself, Jaye - nasty thing about heads - we need 'em, but they can cause us such grief! (((((((((Jaye))))))))) tender hugs to you.
Kel - I hear you like buttons! (and collect 'em, of course lol) So do I! I have a couple of jars. One of these days I'm gonna use 'em in a swap (but won't say how!! LOL)
Crissy - have you heard from your mom? How's she doing?
Thinking about everyone, but I couldn't sleep which is why I'm on at this ungodly hour. I think I've been up for about 20 min, so about time to try sleeping again lol
Niters all - see you in the later morning lol
~Susan~
June Sistahs reunion in Ohio at my house on the weekend after Fathers Day. Looking forward to seeing so many of you again, and some of you for the first time!
It is really a beautiful day here today. Think I will hang my sheets out. Probably the last time, but I said that last week, too. :o)
I went to Jordyn's cheer competition yesterday. Her squad placed second. I thought they did a better job than the first place squad, but Lisa told me that they had deserved first cause the whole squad tumbles and only about 3/4 of Jordyn's squad does. She's a competition cheer coach, so I guess she probably knows what she's talking about! :O)
I stopped at a farm market on the way home and bought an apple. Big spender. 45 cents. It was a honeycrisp and I wanted to see what it tasted like.
Then I stopped at my old bosses house which is right on the way home to say Hi and see his dogs. They breed Golden Retrievers and they have bred them to the place where they are almost white. Some have just a little cream or gold around their ears and face. AND I was so lucky, cause they have a two week old litter. 7 of them. I got to hold one and it was love at first sight. They are all sold. 5 of them were sold before they were even born!
Bob had just returned from a trip to Jamaica with his church. He is a guide and takes them about 3 times a year. Well, he came home with some awesome Blue Mountain coffee beans and he gave me a pound. That was a great stop over!!
When I got home I made that Snack Mustard from the Recipe forum, cause everyone was raving about how good it was. Well, I guess I am surely a wimp, cause it is way way too hot for me. I think I will make it again and use different peppers. I used jalapenos, scotch bonnets and a red one that I can't remember the name of. It also said to put some of the seeds in so I did...holy cow...is it spicy! I have a lot of people I know that like hot and spicy so I hope they like it, cause for sure Bill and I won't be eating it!
I was also a bad, bad girl. I didn't use gloves when I chopped up the peppers and I swear, I was crying all night. I'd touch my lip or my eye and the pain oh my, but then I'd forget and do it again. And yes, before you asked I did wash my hands, many times!!!! Sure did learn a lesson from that!!!!!
So sorry to hear about Murdocks fall and your booboo head. Hope you're feeling better by now, Jaye.
Off to warm my coffee and call Kathy....have a great day all.
Morning everyone! Hope you all slept well, and are waking up nice and refreshed, and ready to start another day?
Coffee is on, and I have some english muffins with strawberry or honey nut cream cheese, or apple jelly.
Jaye, hope you and Murdock are feeling better?
Donna, looks like you have been busy? Your yard is going to be very pretty, when it all blooms!
nummers on the english muffins!
Sleep well........hmmmmmm nope. By 1:00 I couldn't sleep, so I got on the system, and 1/2 hr later tried again - nope. So got up & played FT & FV.
Saw DG survey & was going to take it (and be first???) but got tired/confused and forgot LOL
Ah well, I'm at work, and will be getting alot done, I'm sure. No teleconferences today (never on a Monday).
2 sets of meetings to transcribe, so I'll be busy anyways lol
~Susan~
Joyce, that is so pretty. What is the tree please?
Looks like one of the Japanese Maples at the mall here. Mary
Putting pennies into my "Ohio" formerly "Costa Rica", "BJ's" jar for Ohio!!!! Actually have had to change to a coffee can--big one so I will collect enough. So looking forward to seeing some of the sistah's again and meeting some new ones. Oh and we mustn't forget KEL!!!!!! What gathering would be complete with out our "Sistah Kel"? LOL
Those are pretty trees, thanks for sharing. Makes me miss the fall colors, but not the snow that follows!
Morning Marion!
Amen Marion!!!
I want that Koto No Ito! Been looking for one forever that doesn't cost over $100.00. Maybe somewhere online.
I really lucked out on that one. Found it at a nursery for 50% off. Only paid $50.00! This is its' first year and I've been pleased with the growth. I didn't even know what the Fall color would be!
Afternoon everyone..
Sorry I didnt make it in this mornin but I was late waking up and only made it to work with 2 minutes to spare.. Weather outside is beautiful and our trees look much the same as those in teh photos.. So pretty and makes me very happ yto be home..
Tonys dad showed up at my work today.. I havent seen him in 11 years so that was a very weird conversation.. For those of you who dont know the paternaty was just established and he was umm well (Away) and is now in a transistion housing so he can look for work and start his life over.. He wants to be part of his life and says he cant believe he didnt know all this time but that it was probably for the best.> Cant make up for the past but he says if Tony wants to know him he will do anything he can for him nd for Max and I as well.. Told Max he showed up and what was said but hes still alittle quiet.. Max says as long as he doesnt mess up and stays clean living he has no problem with us but the minute he steps out of line its over.. I Agree and its up to Tony..
So the weekend of fathers day.. I guess I need to look into how far awayFrankin Ohio is and start saving now..
Well better get back to work from luch
Huggs
Donna
The weekend AFTER Fathers day weekend.
My childhood was spent in Reynoldsburg, Donna. I know you know where that is. My parents were born in Pickerington. It takes about
1 1/2 hours to get there from here, but if you hit 33, it would cut some of that time off for you, I think.... ;o)
I just did a mapquest and it looks like they would have you take 33 to 270 to 71. Says 109 miles, not quite 2 hours. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it will work for you!
Morning everyone!!
Welcome to this eccentric group of ladies, Mary!
Feeling much better today and I know you had your heads bowed for a few seconds and asked Him to heal me and Murdock. Thank you,
((((((((((((((((((((Sistahs)))))))))))))))))))))
Good job on that birdhouse Crissy!! I got to get my Christmas thingy going, as soon as I finished with the apron.
Donna, it would be so nice if you're living closeby and I'd hire you right away for our garden. I really hope you can make it to Cookie's. You'd be missing out on her great caramels and Maid M's infectious laughter!
I think Max was hoping the paternity test came out negative, and it's hard after all these years to be hearing Tony call another man, dad.
Max... this is for you ((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))
Trisha and Bill... like my late MIL would say... "You're not no spring chickens anymore!" unless you're in competition for the Tour de France ;0) Be good to yourselves now, since you're the rock for your kids.
Beautiful, beautiful fall colors Cookie. Chances of me moving to a state with that kind of fall beauty is nil.. zilch.. nada.. I'm like LK.. can't stand snow!
Cookie, I have to tell Siti that Jordyn's a cheerleader. She will be inspired to know that she can do anything too! At her school, Siti's left out on a lot of physical activities as the teachers treated her like a piece of china. Sheer ignorance on their part. Did I tell you that she's 'friendless' too, wearing that pump isolates her from the rest that thought it's a contagious disease. France is waaaaaaaay behind on social awareness on diabetes. My poor sister has to go begging them to just treat her like any normal child.
Maid M.... Kel says that's the best compliment you could ever give any man who's very confident of his sexuality ;) And when you call him "Sistah"... do it with a ^_^ !!
ROFL... for those that have yet to meet Kel, he's a ham!!
Saving pennies in a biscuit tin... :D Next year, it will be at Judy's!
LK, you too got to make it to Cookie's. It's bad enough we didn't see you, Phyllis and Kathy at BJ's.
Susan, you must not make that a habit. Not good for your health as you know.. look at me :(
I've just been offered 2 chihuahuas. One white and the other black, for free. No papers of course, and they'll be smaller than Lola Belle. But Kel says it's not fair to Lola, as she's feeling quite dejected having these new kitties in the house.
Got to get busy.. channeling this anxieties into something positive!
Oh do tell Kel I had a HUGE smile on my face when I said that--besides if I didn't think he was secure with himself as a man, trust me I would never in a billion years have said it. It isn't hard to tell those who are confident from those who aren't. Fortunately, I was lucky enough to be married to one like that--never felt threaten by my personality. Just a word of advice to those who haven't met Kel--he is one sharp "tack" and will definitely keep you on your toes!!! LOL
Glad you are feeling better Jaye, I have Kim in today with a bad migraine--doesn't get them very often but the situation at school has gotten to her at the moment.
Well need to go back to my chore list.
Where is everyone? Time to wake up ladies. I know it is cool today, but time to get moving... If your sick, then you are allowed to stay in bed, and get rested.
I didn't post the wreath! That's a catastrophe! I'll post it when I get home.
Hugs for Max, that has got to be difficult. Don't know if I would trust him, I have a friend whose mom gave her away to a family member when she was born, that family member gave her to another, and so on. She ended up being with a distant aunt who beat her every time she turned around. We got to be teenagers in the 8th or 9th grade, I think 9th, and her real mom showed up at the door (she knew her by sight from pictures) saying that she was sorry and she was ready to be a mom. My friend being so young didn't know any better and thought that any living situation would be better than the one she was in, so she moved from CA to MO. As soon as her mother got her back there she dumped her again. An uncle let her move in and she stayed there for a while, but the distant aunt who beat her ended up back in PA and took her back to give her a roof over her head, but threw her out the second she turned 18, and since her birthday is in October she turned 18 before she graduated high school. I don't remember what happened after that, but I know she was in labor as she was walking down the isle of her high school graduation. To make a long story short, she ended up with 3 kids and 2 ex-husbands. She's remarried again and her husband came into the marriage with 2 kids of his own he has full custody of, so they had one together and she works for the Feds.
Good Afternoon Sistahs!
OMG, I've been crazy busy. Work, house kids...Hanging on for dear life while DD#2 practices driving! God give me streangth to hold on to my sanity! LOL...I am a wreck.
Had yet another scarey situation with my Skittles. She was hung up in a winchime!! Scared all of us and herself. While I was trying to get her free she chompped down hard on my finger, seeing stars, Steve and Jake were quick to react and cut her free. She flew off, got hold of her removing the string around her and she didn't go far, snuggles with everyone one and stayed very quiet. But she is I am sure tender today and still snuggly and quiet...Poor baby.
Donna, your gardens are gong to be lovley, wow youve been very busy, looking excellent too.
Tabbin my toes, Going to Joyces, going to Joyces!! LOL, can't wait, but got to keep saving...I've emptied my sistah boot a couple of times! by empting, I mean putting the jing into a bigger holding container...
Joyce, wow, so nice to see your colors! The young trees are beautiful, so glad you got such a deal.
AWW, Jaye i was so bummed to see that you were stricken with another headache, and that Murdock has fallen. My goodness, Gentle armwraps to you both...
OMG, how exciting to see you Posting Phylis!! Know things are busy with work. Mighty glad to see you popped in, Big Armwraps to you and BJ!! LOL, Having 2 girls is lots of work, hope they are doing well, lol wonder how Don is with all the gals in the house, life very different...Miss chatting with you both, and I hope thing settle soon so you both can visit...Give Millie, a hug for us too.
Marion, I sure hope Kim's migrane goes away quickly. How's your weather? you getting outside or just having indoor stuff to do?
Did you get your towels from Jaye yet??? OMG, you'll love it!
Where's Cindy?? Hope all is well.
LK, thanks for breakfast. Hows your day going?
Today, i am just working on some projects, the weekend was crazy busy, so today i take advantage of "my" time.
Besides that, not much else going on over here.
Hope things work out for you and Lil Max.
Waiving Hello to Everyone!
Well, Ihave got to get laundry is yelling, lol.
Have a fun afternoon.
LOL LK wake up?????? I've been up since 6:30am and just had my lunch break!
Judy, glad to hear you have some me time! Time to sit down and take a break. I never taught my kkids to drive, they took drivers education in school.
Time to cut those wing feathers on skittles, so she can't fly into items! Poor thing, I bet she was scared to death.
