Thanks for sharing, Barb!
Can't imagine, that "this little scrap of metal" really brings me to your homes!!!

Jaye - I didn't think you liked FB?!?!!!
Thank you for the "little metal box" email, Barb, and thank you for sharing it, Jaye ^_^
It's amazing how close we can get to each other through that "little metal box"........
See, I never play anything on FB-I just post stupid messages and chat with peeps...
Jaye, that is a lovely poem. Thanks for posting.
I need to go shopping for another sewing machine. Mine keeps knotting up underneath, no matter what I do to it. It was just a wal mart cheapy, so it is not a total loss. I have had it for a few years now.
Good night everyone!
Barb emailed that to me, and asked me to post it here.
I truly like it... a perfect poem of what we've become to each other.
You're right Susan... I'm not a FB addict...yet. Just use it as a tool to keep abreast of nieces and nephews' activities. Like Stacey, I don't do much gaming.
I was an active 360 member, till Yahoo decide to drop it.
Early morning tomorrow. Got to try to get some decent sleep :D
Trisha and Laura, if you're lurking... hope you both are doing fine.
See you tomorrow!
Been a long day. Today was our monthly church lunch...one of the ladies is ill so I had to run out and pick up the items she was supposed to bring.....after two before everyone left...then had to help mom find a card she wanted to make and figure out how to do the background. At three, Laura needed to go pay the water bill and run a few errands...we back at a quarter to five......it the first Spin Class of the year....by the time we finished that and dinner I am beat....the baseball game is not going well so we are watching NCIS one of our favorite shows! Then Dancing With the Stars.
Jaye the Kitties are all sooooo adorable!!!
Hope everyone is having a good night.
oh blast. been up all night, and after such a good day! well, Morning Glory! how are my sisters? coffee is on, and Ruth Jean just got the bowls of cereal going.
Morning Bon, thanks for the coffee!
Sorry your not sleeping. It is 5:50 am here, and I could not sleep either. Looks like a nap may be in order for us huh?
Hope you all have a great day!
LK
I be here! I get on each morning at work and run through the threads but don't have time to write much. I DO have to earn my pay sometime.
Has everyone heard of the Secret Santa thread? It should be closing soon and those who want in should do so now.
I have SO much sewing to do before Christmas and am expecting to get a puppy soon so you can see time is at a premium around my house. Good thing I can get on Dave's from work or I would be SOL.
hmmmmmm nap......... I like naptime lol
Went to bed late, almost couldn't sleep, but then actually fell asleep. so tired.....
Woke up this morning late, and remembered (as I was about to head out the door) that I'd defrosted a chicken to put in the slow cooker. Had to peel the yams, and potatoes, then slice the onion, remember how to USE the cooker, add everything (shoot - couldn't find the pre-packaged stuffing.......) and water. Hope it's a cooked chicken when I get home, and not a burned-down house!! lol j/k, j/k I know it's going to be fine. Just have to remember not to stay at work late LOL I'd have chicken mush if I did LOL
Hope everyone has a terrific day!!!
~Susan~
Good morning, Janice!
I, too, have to get to work ^_^
busy day - time to earn my pay, too LOL
cya later
~Susan~
Morning--and yes it still is!! Well my 4 months doctor's visit is a thing of the past and all is well. I am so proud that I am keeping my preD under control with diet. Jaye, I think of you daily--not easy chore, is it?
A beautiful bright sunny day but I need to finish up the cabinets I was working on yesterday before I start another project.
Yes, by all means those who sew need to check out the Secret Santa Swap on the sewing/quilting thread. That should be loads of fun.
Well need to get back to work.
Farrah and Silver look like Maine Coons, I have a thing for Maine Coon Cats, the biggest and smartest cats in America! :) And they age slow so look out!
Here's the link from the RU I attended:
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1048937/
I had to quit going onto Facebook, too time consuming and we're trying to plan our vacation and it's looking like since the Spring Conference is April 22nd and 23rd, our anniversary is on April 22nd, we're going to be flying to Cancun out of Little Rock on April 24th through May 1st! Yay!!
I have a can of Bush's Seasoned Black Beans in my pantry that Dave bought a couple weeks ago.
Cindy that is so sad about those fires, I so hope they catch them!
I got to get back to work! Oh, it's lunch time! Never mind!!
Good Morning!
LOL, didn't get to make the fry bread yesterday, it was so nice I worked in the yard most f the day.
Pruned and thinned ou the forest of bushes in the back. long process. I do ieach branch individual.
Craziest thing, they have new buds, thats how weird the weather has been. Now today, working on transplanting some Ornamental grasses.
and I already mixed the dough for bread. letting it rest a couple of hours...ROFLOL, lets see how it comes out...Dumbest thing not sure how many tsp's I put in, so added another just in case...and since this is just a test only made 2 cups worth. lol will be very small pieces.
OMG Gosh, Jaye the Kittens are adorable. Aww and look at how healthy Possum looks.
They all do. God Bless you and kel for saving them!
Oh Marion, have fun with the cabinet, hope you get it finished today.
Oh bummer but Yay a new sewing machine for you LK!! Will be exciting to see what you get.
LOL and even more fun to play with it.
happy Tote sewing ladies, sure had fun with mine!
giggles here, my Sister just got a new machine and I had to walk her through threading it.
She said that how i am to pay her for the bulbs she is sending! Hey, i can deal with that.
OK, well got to pick up Sabrina for lunch, be back in a bit.
Cute kitties Jaye!
Stacey....are you going to college or still in the thinking/planning stage?
I'm working on a new outside project...will post pictures later!
Good afternoon everyone.
We left the house earlyyyyyyyyyy this morning, and guess what? A light frost was dusted on the top of all my plants :(( Thank God, not enough to damage them and supposedly the lowest temp was to be in the high 40's!
LK, have you decided on what machine to get? You know what to expect out of the next machine, so, I bet you're already comparing them online.
Thanks for dropping in Trisha. You are such a good woman. I pray God bless you continously!!
I don't think they're Maine Coons, Crissy. They're not fluffy at all! It's amazing how smart these kiddos are. Possum being blind can't imitate what the others are doing, but she knows how to clean herself after eating!
Whatever you're doing to keep your pre-D under control, keep doing it Maid M.
Also physical activity, of the strenous kind helps too.
When I told the doc that I AM active.. he says gardening isn't considered strenous activity!! Try dragging 200 ft. hose and pushing wheel barrows!! Oh well... I won't be doing that much now.
Aha!!! Be around your grandkids more often... they will burn up your calories for sure!
Susan, quit worrying too much! Your chicken will be fine when you get home ;) If it turns to mush, you can always debone it and make some good chicken soup, or add that to Mahatma rice!
I'm sure you can find some other things to worry about at work! I rather you stay cheerful and stress free.
So, you use yeast for your fried bread, Judy? That's interesting! I had deep fried some biscuits and they turned out too greasy!!!
You mentioned bulbs, and the FedEx guy just dropped a box off! Alliums!! Yippeeeee!!! Poor Kel have to plant them!
Cookie, is it for the pond?
Love Maine Coons....they are such beautiful cats...but afraid any cats I have will be rescues or pound babies....
Cloudy and windy in between rains.....think I will get a bit of straightening up done and then it just looks like a good bread baking/Soup making day....have a new bread recipe and some ham hocks and split peas....ummm ummm umm!
Then maybe play in the paint a bit......
Still have a few Iris that I need to decide if they are going in the front or back bed and get them planted...
So far no hard frosts here which is good....I have one little Acorn Squash that popped up in the old compost site....and a beautiful gourd plant that was planted too late in the season (a Sage Project). It is covered in gourds but only one or two are about to reach maturity if the weather holds out just a bit longer.....I love the little gourd flowers.
Well, the day is half gone so guess I should get busy.
Almost noon here and I haven't done anything constructive. What do doctors know about gardening, they probably have hired help to do their work. All outside work is strenous as far I am concerned. I better get out and do so yard work. I think my plants need some refreshments.
Ham hocks and split pea soup... that sounds like so good! Save me a bowl, Trisha. Got my napkin and spoon ready!
Pegi, don't you just hate it, when you know you got to get your butt moving to do what's more important and somehow your mind 'persuade' you to do something else?
This afternoon, all I could do is sort out my fabric stash for the apron swap. Change of plans so good excuse to sit still in the chair and play musical tote boxes! Now how difficult can that be. Just find the perfect fabrics for her and stick to a pattern already in my head...
not so with my fickle mind.
I should be finishing the tote :D
very colorful and pretty
Come up and see them in person....the pictures don't do justice!
KATHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My love, wrap your arms around yourself and squeeze-that is me huggin you with all the warmth in my heart.
Cookie-no-DH put the kabosh on that plan.
I had an interview today for Macy's=went well. Just seasonal-part time for the most part, but I have an interview on Mon for Michaels for the same type of job-if I could get them both I would-usually it isn't hard to get them to work around each other if they aren't full time.
I love the pictures of the leaves!! Some day I am going north just to see them when they are changing--it's on my bucket list.
I am like Tink, Kathy it is so good to see you popping up--well not literally as I am sure that would hurt. Take care of yourself.
Good luck Tink, who know with your talent Michaels might lead to more.
Hey Stacey, good luck on the job interview. Hope you get a call soon!
I am not looking for a big machine, but I would like to have one last more than 2 or 3 years. Guess we get what we pay for?
Off to bed. You all have sweet dreams!
Jaye - I's not worried!!
As a matter of fact, I'm getting the hang of this new project @ work. I'm just tired, is all.
I heard from the woman I report to, that when they post the job of the woman who sat next to me, they're going to put a clause it in that she is to assist me with the work of the Teleconferencing. One of the physicians took apart the equipment for me today, as I was busy setting up another meeting/catering. Awfully sweet of him!
My boss told me I should be recording the OT, and take time off "in lieu". I've already put in over 9 hours of OT, so guess I get some short days lol
I'm really getting the hang of this, so it won't be long before I have regular days again lol
~Susan~
Wonderful fall colors, what a great show. Wish I could see them in person.
Beautifil fall pictures. Thanks for sharing.
Morning everyone. Coffee is ready!
They're not fluffy when they're babies like that, they start getting long strands of fur when they're about 2 months old, then at about 6 months they're pure fluff.
Tiga did the cutest thing last night. We were in bed, she was laying on her side with her tiger against her back. It was completely dark so I couldn't see what she was doing, but I was petting her side and she took my hand in her paws. I decided to not play because I was trying to go to sleep and not in the best position for that anyway, so I let her do whatever she wanted to with my hand. She put my hand in her mouth, guided it with one of her paws to the bed, and put her head on top of it.
Oh, I wanted to let ya'll know, my mom's reconstruction surgery is this morning, probably as we speak!
Good morning ladies.
Thank you again LK for the coffee. There are lots of good brand used sewing machines online and if you're willing to take the risk. I had got my Pfaff Hobbymatic from eBay, paid $70 and it's the best mechanical workhorse so far. Been 4 years.
Before I got this Viking, it's been a headache for me deciding what to get with all the ads in my face! It must probably be the same for you.
My Singer Quantum is the result of those ads. Not feedbacks, as Singer just introduced the Quantum line.
Now I treat it as a utility machine :(
You've been busy Cookie!! Can't wait to see that waterfall in person!
Thank you so much for the brilliant fall display. It does my mind good this morning! Mwaaaaaah!!
Niece, good luck on your interviews. Tempting places to spend your paychecks!
Lolol.. you's be not worried after all, no complains about your chicken last night!!! Susan, it's good if they recognised your job description now entails more help for yourself ;)
Aww Crissy... now isn't it amazing how our kitties can communicate with us? Farrah has already learnt, that if she stood by the foodbowl and stares at one of us, she'll be fed.
I know your mum's surgery will be a succesful one. Prayers work!
Morning Sisters
would y'all put us in your prayers? I haven't had my flu shots yet despite being in 'high risk" group - too dizzy to drive all the way to our doc. Ruth has suddenly spiked a high fever. Pediatrian's office confirms she has flu symptoms (by phone anyway). Randall's been feeling off all week and has a rash on his chest. we are holding to see if she needs to go get evaluated for swine flu. she woke this morning with fever at 101. by 10am it was over 103.
Certainly Bon.
103 is too high to be ignored. Hope you all get some help soon.
Crissy - I'm sure your mom will come through with flying colours! My thoughts and prayers are with her.
Jaye - the chicken was tres delish! I don't know why I keep forgetting my slow cooker - it's just so wonderful! I got it through "air miles" and they always send quality items.
I guess when you're ordering online, you can't be too sure, so they always send the best and no one's disappointed lol
~Susan~
Bon - 103 is high, girl!
You have my prayers to get better really soon ^_^
Jaye - just because they said this is something they're looking at, doesn't mean it will happen, and if it does, it won't happen until sometime in January. They're going to re-evaluate the Chemistry Division position at the end of December to see if they need to replace Lucie (the one who's gone to another job, and is coming into chemistry 4-8 days/month...) If they decide to replace her, the posting wouldn't happen until Jan, then who knows when they'd actually hire someone. It's just that, if they do, they would get someone who is going to assist me. I just hope it's someone whose personality is agreeable. I had enough of Lucie....... Ok ok....... that's being negative, and that's not my norm....... I'm stopping it now!! ^_^
~Susan~
Tink, good thing you and I weren't together in June. Between your face and my hand we would have scared everyone away. Be careful!!!! Good luck on the interviews and get those jobs. So happy you are back on here with us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Susan, if it's not for the 'net, I won't be getting Indonesian food. Amazing how this 'metal box' brings the world right into your living room.
There you go... think positive. Me think you need a rubber band on your wrist, each time some negative thoughts start lurking in your head, snap that rubber band.
Ever thought that God in His mysterious ways put you and Lucie together since He thinks you're the best thing for her 'disposition'?
Okay.. ok.. I'll quit! ROFL!!
Ouch niece!! Bet you had more cosmos for the healing ;)
