venice you should have seen some of the suits I use to wear to work that I gave away
Gypsies, Drums and Chocolate
Hello everyone.
Smileymom, Angela is a very pretty girl.
Dave, C.gigantea is a clumper and fast at multiplying. Look's like your coming along quite well on your addition.
Trina, I am with Dave as well on your plant being a Alocasia macrorrhizos but as far as a Cultivar...I am not sure. You can alway's ask LariAnn.
Dixiegril, judging from your picture earlier...look's like you were going to have a busy day;-)
Nice plant's Venice.
Dixie, LOL, you are very serious about your ears!!!
Smiley, yes, Angela is a very pretty girl!
Yes the Poo's sleep on grass cuttings. They are as snug as bugs in a rug. Trina is holding them for ransom. I may have to rob a bank. Grin
Dave, another things I meant to ask you. I put the bloom that broke off into some water. Is that ok or should I let it dry. Does it have seeds?
I am not holding the poo babies for ransom....just the coach purses!..LOL
it's called aggressive plant negotiations! LOL
Hey Rachel yes a good dose of poo can do that to a person. Grin. Yes Venice must know about the ears.
I like the ears!
O.K. name your price. My yard will look like it has been hit by meteors. Grin
Trina you have an ape plant. Heee,Heeeeeee
Dave, I hope you are still there. Are you having a very long wait to get here? We can go to a new thread if that would help.
Hi Rachel! Pleased to meet you!
Thanks for the ID; I'm thinking Dixie's taro and my 'ili ua ua taro are the same, and are Colocasia gigantea. It is similar in growth habit to Hawaiian Taro, but the clump is not as tight as Hawaiian Taro; the shoots are a couple inches off of the plant.
The Hawaiians referred to the 'ili ua ua flower as "pua kalo" (taro flower) and used it as a spice in cooking, similar to ginger.
The corm is edible, but must be cooked longer than Hawaiian Taro.
Carol, the inner leaves (vase) of your Bromeliad need to always be filled with water. Don't dump it out! It is good to regularly water your Bromeliad, but it needs to be well drained (with the vase of the Bromeliad staying filled with water, not the pot with roots).
Dave, when I put it in a different pot, I didn't water it because the soil was wet that was with the roots.
Uhmm, Excuse me sir I would like to purchase an APE plant !! I DONT KNOW WHY THATS SO FUNNY TO ME BUT, I'M ROLLING. Sorry I have to take a moment to regain my composure. At your expense of course. LOL
my price huh? let me see, I'll have to think about that, depends on which coach purse you had your eye on.
hey I was laughing too! alright kid is starting to do his homework of making king bread, and all of a sudden my brain fell out....so what does scald milk mean
Excuse me Dixie, I forgot about the translation!
Ape in Hawaiian is pronounced: "ah-pay".
Guess this means no purses for me. lol
LOL,LOL,LOL
Trina, bring the milk barely to a boil on medium low heat. It will have a little froth around the edges. Take it off the heat if you start to see boiling bubbles. Stir every once and a while to make sure it isn't burning on the bottom of the pan. Scald not scortch.
Hawaiian Vowel Pronunciation:
A = ah
E = A
I = E
O = Oh
U = oooh.
ROFL!....I'll take some pics of the purses for you either later tonight or tomorrow dixie, you may not want them after all...cause I picked those and all the shoes....everything else mom picked up.....sometimes I wonder if she was trying to make me A. Fashionable, B. Living vicariously through me, or C. trying to get me a job as a stripper! But you gotta love her
Dave ,I will be (ah-payin) when Trina gets a hold of me. LOL
Thanks Carol, my brain just totally froze when he asked me but it is a good thing I read the recipe first cause he thout the hole slits in the top thing was cutting it all the way through.....I swear if this school district's educational system is like the rest of the country's then we are in a whole lot of trouble
Rachel, yes, start a new thread for us!!
To scald milk is to heat it til it forms a "skin" on the pot, but does not come to a boil. Trina
