HHHMMMM....let me see....I can take the ransom in plants....LOL

Jesup, GA

Thanks Dave. All of those plants started with 2 bulbs about the size of a base ball. Can they grow in just water? Or do they also need soil?

Keaau, HI

Hi Trina, need to see the leaves close-up and a photo of the whole plant, including the base.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Dixie, I do have a lovely ensemble from coach, white leather purse, belt and mid calf 3" heel boots, but seriously I think there are 2 or 3 in there I don't want

Jesup, GA

So you say. Never belive some one with a hoarding , and a plant addicition. Thats double trouble. LOL

Keaau, HI

Hey Trina, that is an Alocasia. Maybe Alocasia macrorrhiza. Hawaiians called Alocasia's, "Ape".

Rachel or Lisa Ann, may be able to tell you more.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

I like to play dress up all the time...I wear alot of dresses and skirts in the summer...I could put on a whole fasion show for ya! Sad part is there might be 2 or 3 things in there I bought myself

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

That is all of them except for the plant on my desk and another plant in my bedroom. As you can see my plants look nothing like Trina's or Dixie's!!!

Keaau, HI

Hi Carol! The plant looks fine. Are the roots sitting in water? They should be moist but well drained.

You can water Bromeliads regularly but they should not be sitting in a puddle. The pot should be well drained and the vase filled with water.

That means that the center of the plant should have water in it; the base of the plant should not be in a vase though, unless the vase is dry.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Wow Trina, it sounds like you have some really hot outfits!!!

Jesup, GA

Venice very pretty plants.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Only because I gave my mother money and she bought all my clothes, but I have also been the same size since the 3rd grade

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Aloha ahiahi Dave! Ok, what does this mean -- the base of the plant should not be in a vase ? I have a hard time with English also sometimes!! lol

Jesup, GA

Wonder where our sister Moon is?

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Dave, no, the plant is in a clay pot and drains into the brass pot. I put water in the vase but there is also water between the surrounding leaves. It is in the same size of pot as when I bought it but just an inch deeper.

The only thing I question is that it was difficult to keep it upright and from falling over. So I had to press fairly hard on the soil and orchid bark or else it would be on the floor.

Do you think I damaged the roots?

Hey, you have a floor now!! Great!

Jesup, GA

Venice, they look pretty in front of your mirror. What are the 2 smaller ones in the little white pots?

Keaau, HI

Hey Carol, the Bromeliad looks like it is in a red pot filled with coconut poir; and that pot is inside of a brass vase that is square.

If there is a puddle of water inside of the brass vase that the Bromeliad is sitting in, you are going to kill the Bromeliad.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Dixie, I really am not trying to ignore you. Just wanted to get those plants posted and wanted to catch Dave while he was here.

How are the babies tonight? Do you give them something soft to sleep on?

So you are first on the list for Trina's coach purses!!! Good job!

Jesup, GA

Dave can my elephant ears grow in just water? I must know this,I simply must. Or I cant go on.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

No water in the brass pot!

It has all that water between the leaves. Should I dump that out?
