Faye, that is so sweet, I gave her versi I will check and see how bad her addition is....LOL

FLOYD, VA(Zone 6a)

Joyce I have tons of Frosti Pink and Isabella too. Really can't bear to throw them out. They are all in water and rooting already. What am I going to do with all these.?? Think I'll turn the whole backyard into a brug garden next year. Save mowing. :0)

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

LOL, yep we are addicted. I'm working hard cutting, labeling, wrapping, boxing and going into town to the PO just to keep from throwing the beauties away. Very time consuming.. I love working with them, and yes, I'v done so much of it now it feels like work. But....Will send to anyone for postage.

I know what you mean, it is amazing how much time packing and all of that takes, but I am the same I hate to leave plants out to die especially if I know someone wants it....LOL

rvnsbrk I am like you I love them and would have them all over the yard, but that winter thing is a real problem! LOL Guess we could plant the whole back yard just take a cutting keep it all winter and start over the next spring. I know what would happen with me as I would try to keep them all going all winter until I had to move everyone out of the house....LOL

I will check with Kaye and see if she wants anymore, I am guessing she is going to say yes.....

I got all my brugs in their temp. homes. I was going to post a picture of them, but smartie me decided to untangle all those cords on back of computer. Wow, what a mess, and then I couldn't get back on Internet. I spent most of the evening and half of this morning trying to figure out what I did wrong. In the meantime, I have all these cords tangled up again and I'm NOT going to try and untangle them again. Well, I finally got it all figured out, I hope, and now I can show you my new babies ready to start rooting.

My mountain magic is giving her final flush for the season... that plant has made up for the 4 years I have doted on her this year! Been blooming constantly all year! I only wish she would grow large enough for me to actually take cuttings. My mother really wants one. I am afraid to cut anything off since the plant is so small. I have it the largest pot Walmart sells.. next year she will go up into an 18 gallon tub.. I have already bought it!

Gosh Faye, I havn't a clue from the picture.. the PBs' I have from Bonnie did not bloom this year, but their leaves are thicker than the others.. hers did bloom, sorta looks like hers.. wish she would jump in here for a minute..

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

worked in the basement all morning after all night trimming and re-arranging.. home off work today.
Tammie, that is a beautiful MM u have there.. gosh it looks like summer there!

(Tammie) Odessa, TX(Zone 7b)

We have had some nights into the 30's .. even had frost one night.. my plants spent a week in the garage but have all moved back onto the driveway since daytime temps are back into the 60's and 70's. Night time temps are in the mid and low 40's right now.. supposed to get into the high 30's the end of the week. I can usually stretch it until sometime late in november before everyone has to move in permnantly for the winter here. I just have to very carefully watch the weather and be prepared to run outside at night if it starts to get colder than expected.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

you must be in northern texas.. hafta google your town and see.. we too have had frost and cooler temps.. In October! but now it is like 60s' and 70's again..

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

awww pegi that is great! ;D I wish I was still living in California... cold and rainey here..
how about u Pegi? ya wanna some Debra Seeds?

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

If you want to send some Debra seeds I will take them. Have a few left over from last time you sent me some. Now that I have a grow light set up and lots of small cantainers I punched holes in the bottoms I could go into the growing busness. Have sweet peas growing in front yard hoping they will climb up an old metal gate that was given to me. I can picture them climbing up the gate, hope my dreams come true.

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

HELP! I am so confused. (as usual) Is there an Angel Trumpet and a Devil Trumpet, or they the same. I was told that the Angel blooms hang down and the Devil bloom points up. Looking in a new magazine, "Garden Gate" Flowers, they have the following picture with this:

Taken from the magazine: "Garden Gate" Flowers. A supplement to
August Home Publications.

Angel's trumpet Datura inoxia

Height: 2 feet Width: 3 to 4 feet Light: Full sun.
Soil: Moist, well -drained. Blooms: Summer to Fall. Cold hardy: Zones 7 to 11
Heat Tolerant: AHS zones 11 to 1 Fragrance: Heavy and Sweet.v

These exotic white, yellow, pink, red or orange blooms-- sometimes up to 6 in. across---
really make angel's trumpet stand out from the rest.
In the evening, from early Summer to Fall, angel's trumpet unrolls its cigarlike buds,
exuding an intense perfume. Enjoy them while you can. The plant is nocturnal so the
show's over by noon at the latest.
Angel's trumpet does best without any sudden shocks, so try to keep it evenl;y moist. Deadheading won't
make the plant bloom any better, but it will keep it from self-seeding and become invasive. And use
caution while handling the plant, as all parts of angel's trumpet are toxic.

try THESE!
Double blooms: "Metal Ballerina Mixed" (in photo)
Pink Blooms: "Frosty Pink"
Double purple blooms: "Double Purple

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Some people don't know the difference, and sell them all the same, but if it says datura, it is a devil trumpet, if it says brugmansia, it is an angel trumpet, but some sell them as one plant. Just be careful what your purchasing.
Yes, the angels will hang down, and the devils will start pointing up, but if the are large blooms, they will hang down also!
Hope this helps
Angel trumpets only come in whites, pinks and yellows to orange. There is no such thing as a true red or purple angel trumpet. if it is purple, it is a devil trumpet. They do sell a plant in the brugmansia family, that is red, but not a solid color like the angels.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Faye, I have the white and the purple devils trumpet datura, let me know if I can send you some. Debra
