Dee
another plant Blooms all year long but it doesn't have a scent, is crown of thorns, they are euporbias, there are 2 kinds one from madasgar, they are easy plants too grow, but you can't overwater them, that is one of the houseplants I will take a pic of, but the Brugs are definately eye catching, it's like potatoe chips, you can't have just one
Elizabeth
Blooming Brug
Yeah, I'm sleepy tonight too. I think I'm gonna head that way myself, pretty soon.
Dee
Good night Charlene

Elizabeth
Good night Elizabeth, You have a good rest too.
Goodnight Dee, talk to you all tomarrow sometime,
Stay safe, I love you.
Charleen
Yes, I wish I had known about brugs sooner..Guess I'll just try to make up for lost time.Your crown of thorns sounds interesting. Can't wait to see the pics.
Dee
Goodnight MayEllen..lolTalk tomorrow!
Dee
Elizabeth, I was looking back over some of your pics today, and you really have a good eye , when it comes to taking pics of your brugs.Do you print off any of them? They would make a wonderful calendar!, or a picture quilt!!!
Dee
Dee
I have 3 albums of Pic's from the time we moved in here, at meijer, they will make a cd out of your Pic's you just have to scan them, they only charge $2.99 each, I have some of those, I use those to see what I want to do different each year
Thank you for the compliment, I just love to take Pic's
Elizabeth
Oh yeah, forgot that you could do that now...my DH takes care of all the high tech stuff..lol. Are you still clippin'?
Dee
Do you sew, Elizabeth?...cloth, not seeds..lol
Dee
I think I'm getting off, for the night. I can barely keep my eyes open. Don't work too hard.Night, Elizabeth.
Dee
Dee
I was running my ccleaner, it gets rid of your cookies, on your puter, tommorrow night is clipping, yes I do sew fabric
at one time I made a queen size quilt, it took 4 months from start to finish all by hand, it was the window pane
Good night girl, sleep well
Elizabeth
Just checking in, before I get busy. I sew a little, not near as often as I should..lol..I have always wanted to make one of those picture/ memory quilts. Wouldn't it be beautiful to do one with all different brug pics?
Dee
Good morning and afternoon girls.
Wind is blowing and Sun is out. Very deceiving
it is still cool. Frost is possible tomarrow night.
guess I'll try to keep warm.
Charleen
Charleen, I sent ya an e-mail.
Dee
Thank you Dee, I saved it to my drafts. I appreciate the help.
How are you doing?? Been busy, I know Elizabeth is busy.
I cut my moonvine back and brought it in the house.
Still got to cut tops out of Brugs yet.
Charleen
Good afternoon
thought I would check in for a while, before I have to get to work, I have a bunch of houseplants sitting on plastic to get them in, now later on I will be arranging them in their winter home, my DDsaid she would help me after her laundry is done, so I have a while to be on here, my angels moonlight has an orange bloom on it, in the basement, all summer it bloomed white, now it's orange colored, maybe it was too shaded, where I had it planted, next spring it will be in full sun
tommorrow night I will have Pic's of the basement greenroom
Elizabeth
Charlene
that vine really look healthy, I want to save some of my gerainums, but I am not sure I have the room, the basement is a mess right now, but after while, it will be straightened out, I did take pic's of the NOL laying on the ground after I dug it up& stripped most of the leaves, I use MG bags that I saved to put the whole rootball & plants in to take it downstairs it save a lot of clean up, there no dirt all over the place, plus they seem to not stress so much, so I can get them in a lot quiker, then pot them up where it's warm
Elizabeth
What is a MG bag?
Charleen
Charlene
that's Miracle grow & I keep all my mulch bags
Elizabeth
o.k. You save the bags from the potting soil to put your plants in,
very good. Feel so dumb, but I didn't know what that meant. All
I could think of was Morning Glory. Isn't that silly?
Charleen
No not silly I still get confused when people abbreviate, like BTW, it took my DD to tell me what that meant, now I know
anyway, for some reason the plastic keep the roots moist, that way you don't have to work yourself to death, you just dig them up throw in the bag all the soil stays in the bag not on the floor, last I waited till the last minute, dug them real fast drug them to the basement with the dirt on them, there was dirt everywhere, what a mess, so I started using the bags it's a lot cleaner
Elizabeth
I know it is going to be worth it. Think of all the lives you saved.
Mother Nature can be cruel to plants. But I guess it is a necessary thing,
or the world would be a jungle. Speaking of jungle, my moonvine
looks perkier already.
my brugs are in front of my desk and I can lean down and look at them.
All four Frosty Pinks. I haven't had this many plants in years. I love it.
I didn't have to bother my DH yet. But I will. ^_&
Charleen
Yes you will I will fit whatever I can in the box, you have or would you like a jade? I also have you the red epi, they call it orchid catcus, even though it's an epi. same family as the cerus, also I have baby, blue agave's buy the time next fall rolls around you'll be saying honey I need help, Brugs can go from a 3 inch pot to 7 ft in one season, year before last I have to donate 3 different colors, that were 8ft from one season
Elizabeth
Charlene
you ask me if there was a camera, that took Pic's as the flower opens, there is a camera that does that it's a 35 mm
you just leave the shutter open, a friend of mine did that with a minolta, she just left the shutter open, you could see the stars, as the earth was revolving, it was neat, I used to have a good 35 mm with the wide angle lens, but it messed up
so then I went with the digital, but next year I am getting one that has a wide angle lens, that takes really good Pic's
Elizabeth
Elizabeth, I have been looking on the Google to see if I can find a clip, but nothing yet.
I will find one eventually, just got to keep looking and type in the correct thing;
then it will pop up. I'm not giving up, when I do I'll let you know.
Charleen
Keep looking you will find it sooner or later, I just sent you an email, you're going to love it
Elizabeth
Charlene
I will talk to you this evening, the sun is out but it's still cold, so I better finish getting thing in before the sun goes down
Elizabeth
wowie, what are you all chatters. pfff. I had to read a lot. And I haven't read everything. pfff. haha.
I brought almost al of my brugs inside this week. Ik stil have to dig 3 up. And those are my biggest. My husband is also a headshaker. hihi. But he helps me a lot. This week he still has to repair a few of the windows of my greenhouse.
I still have to dig up some of my banana's to bring them inside en some of my elephant ears.
And I took all of my tropical plants inside my greenhouse. And I have a lot of tropical plants. I think +200, but I haven't counted them the last few years. I'll take a pic next weekend when I have put everything in the right spot in my greenhouse en took away all the mess.
Hey, Jori!!!! What ya doin girl. So glad to see you made it..
This is where You find elizabeth, Dee and I , we are so glad to see you.
Sorry you got so out of Breathe , with our chatter, we we do enjoy chatting as you can see.
I bet you have a fabulous greenhouse.
So glad you are with us.
Charleen
Welcome Jori, glad you can join us. We are a gabby bunch, but we love it. When we get going in the evening it's hard to keep up, even for us. We post at the same time alot, but we know it, and can usually figure it out..lol
I love tropicals too, but I don't have a GH, so I have to dig them and store them in our cool basement. What is your weather like right now? We have a freeze warning out for tonight.Feel free to just jump right in, any time.
Dee
Hey, Dee. How are you doing??
Supposed to get down to 39 tonight.
Think I finally got everything in.
There was more than I thought.
Charleen
Lol, my husband is shaking his head at me too.He told my son-in law that I had plants everywhere...I have the cuttings under the lights and 3 banana pups that I decided to grow to a little bigger size, before I put them in storage, and the plants that I got in the tropical swap....not that many really. I should have shown him what Elizabeth was digging and bringing in...lol....then, I could tell him, that hopefully next year, I'll be doing that too...lol Bet he wouldn't have much more to say about the few I have sitting around now
Dee
O.K. I am baaack
Hi Jori, glad you had the time to join in, now it's really getting bad, when you bring your strawberry pots in, I left one out last year, a terra cotta pot, it busted, & the strawberries, died, My GD loves picking those in the summer, but they cost more every year, so I brought them in, I got some cuttings, Charlene & Dee you both want a log, to try
put in your orders now, I will be cutting back that monster, it is too tall so I think I can get at least 2 Y's, if you want the green limb after I cut the Y's you can have that to try rooting it, I still have a lot of the houseplants in the LR, it looks like a flower, I won't take a pic of that it looks like a mess, well crowded anyway
Elizabeth
yes, I'll take a cutting. I'm hoping they will make it. i cut the top out of my brug and it's limp as a dishrag. Is it going to be alright Elizabeth.
It is so limp. Even the blooms. Put ferms in my garden tub, It is gorgeous. I love them in there, will get you pic after I tidy up a bit.
Almost forgot the Staghorn fern but got it in. We moved stuff outside to warme side of house. So haven't cut any of them back yet.
Charleen
Yes, Elizabeth, I'd love to try a log..and a green limb..I want it all...lol.At least you have all the house plants in where they are safe and sound.Maybe you can slow down now and work at a easier pace, while you are getting them where you want them. You said that your brug is too tall....how tall is it?
Dee

Charlene
they all look like that when you cut them, did you just cut the green stems, or did you get some of the woody part?
Dee
now the real work begins, I have to cut the top of the limbs, back to but above a Y, that monster NOL could loose about 3 ft, & still be a good size, I have a gal. jar. that the peatmoss is in, for clippings, I like to see white roots on my clippings, the main reason I use peatmoss,a couple years ago I had buckets of clipping, I couldn't stand to throw anything out, so here was all the five gal. buckets sitting around, we had just got a new washer & Dryer, those buckets were in the way so I dumped the water out so they would be easy too move, have you ever smelled rotten vegatation
well it took 3 days for that too go away, so that's when I thought, they use peatmoss for amarylis, so why not brugs
it worked like a charm, no more foul smell
Elizabeth
Hey, Elizabeth, got a question for you. Remember, that I told you that my SunRay cutting was just sitting there doing nothing. Well, I dug it out today, and it does have some long roots, but it is still bare on top, not a sign of a leaf...Ever heard of such a thing?..Dee
