Somewhere over the rainbow Trina can plant all her bulbs, or keep them in a cool dry place in newspaper til spring.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

a-a-a-nd the skies are not cloudy all day-y-y-y-y-y-y-y !!!

(DH stores his potted amaryllis bulb in a dark spot for the winter)

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Plant em with the bluebirds Trina and maybe they will fly to the rainbow garden lol I'm being silly go talk plants got to use the phone.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

'Over the Rainbow' was DD's first song. I had her over my shoulder in the rocking chair, she was about 2 weeks old. Jacob was watching the 'wizzers of oz' and she cooed the entire time Dorothy was singing. When the song was over, she stopped cooing. So I always said that was the first song she sang. (She has grandma's singing talent)

Jimi does a nice version of 'Over the Rainbow'

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

some days you guys are an absolute relief! I love you all and am so glad I met ya!

newspaper cool dry place....can they each be in seperately labeled boxes so I don't forget what is what? I completely forgot the glads and peacock thingy's were even out there because of all the weeds!

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Seriously Trina, I do what Moon suggested. We have tons of Canna's and they have to be dug up in fall. We let them dry for a couple days then wrap in newspaper and put them in a box. We have a hidey-hole in the basement and we put them there. Cool & dry.

DH's amaryllis is in a pot, so when it goes dormant he just sticks it in a dark spot for the winter.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Smiley am I supposed to keep watering my Amarylis and when do I get it out of the dark? Book said bring in in Sept put in dark cool spot water sparingly then pump up the light and water in Nov to get Jan.blooms.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

I only have Canna's, but why not? One year I dug up the Pink Floyd Dahlia's and put them in the same box. Wrote PFD on the newspaper.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

thanks cause i have cannas too...if i wrap them in newspaper and then slide them in to paper lunch sacks so I can label them is that ok?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

This is fun, but it is Algebra time....catch y'all later.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Pink Floyd Dahlias?

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Bye Moon!

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

I asked DH about his. There are probably all different kinds of variations, but he puts his in a dark spot around the beginning of November, and puts the pot on it's side. He doesn't know why, that's what his book told him to do. He doesn't water it at all, and brings it out in March and starts taking care of it then. It's about 5 years old, so it works for him.

In theory, it sounds like your book would work to get blooms in January, given it had enough light. I would think.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Bye Moon had fun we will do it gain I'm sure, next time I will have my keyboard and will cllick out those lyics girl lol.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Yeah, Trina, Pink Floyd Dahlia's. They weren't very big flowers, but a pretty purple, I believe. I didn't dig them up the next year and they didn't survive the winter.

Sure on the lunch bag. What we do for Canna's, which are the directions DH's parents gave him, they grew them for years, is this:

Wait until after the first frost, then cut off the leaves and dig them out. let them dry out for a couple days, then brush off as much dirt as possible & wrap in newspaper. You know the rest. They always replanted Memorial Day weekend, but this year we put them out in April. We had a real nice bunch of Canna's this year. In fact, I have them coming out of my wa-zoo.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Bye Moon. X + Y = Z !!!!
