Not much happening on this end, just the usual bathroom stalker... lol. I also saw the 'Him' on the porch again and I heard someone cough, but other than that it has been quiet. It seems the intense occurrences come in cycles; this seems to be a low point right now.

Thank you for the link. I bookmarked it and will send the general link to a few people....

Kawonkamish Gita,
I also think so. My Native American and Irish roots may come into play with my ability to see and hear them.
August 2, 2010 3:45 PM: I heard a loud knock coming from the wall of Nokas' bedroom. It sounded like someone was knocking from inside the wall; one knock only. Nokas was in the sewing/computer room, so I know it was not her.
Also today, I was at the court house earlier today for jury duty and while I was sitting in the Jury Pool room, I felt a distinct touch on my right cheek, near my ear. It felt as if someone had run the back of their fingers down my cheek. I wear my hair in a pony tail, so I know it was not caused by my hair brushing my cheek. Also, there was no one seated in the row behind me at the time. The lady, the only person who was sitting in the back row, had left to go down to the cafeteria for our 10:00 AM break. She did not return until 10:30 AM. This is a brand new courthouse; it opened in 2007. Though it was built on the site of the old men's correction facility. That may have something to do with it.

Is there any way to find out if anyone ever died in that jailhouse?

I do not know how to go about it. I will try a web search and see if there is anything online.

Maybe its just a visitor. Thats what I've had. One house I lived in the 'guy' came every evening at the same time and 'visited' for about 2 hours, than left. He came by the front door, but I never figured out how he left.
Wow, that's a long time ago. Could be that no records exist back that far.
I had to find that out by going to the website of Pilgrim Hall and go through the notes. The Hall is a museum in Plymouth.

Boy has it been awhile since I’ve been on DG - last Nov. I believe! Been catching up on my “favorite” forums lately - this one being one of them of course. You guys have been busy - or I guess the spirit realm has been busy...lol
Remember the story I told you all about on September 21, 2009 - things that happened when I lived in Hawaii and worked at Hickam/Pearl Harbor? Well…
on June 24th Kaprys mentioned something about Pearl Harbor. Then some of you were talking about going to websites to find out info about your area …so I entered "Hickam Pearl Harbor haunting" on Google and found this: (remember I lived and worked in Hawaii in the 1980's. A lot more happened there than this article talks about and it was well know by everyone. It was also well know that the Air force wanted to keep a lid on the going ons there.)
http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0IBP/is_10_48/ai_n6330785/
Just silly ghost stories? Air Force not immune to things that go bump in the night
At Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii, "Charley" has haunted the halls of the Pacific Air Forces headquarters building since the Japanese sneak attack on Pearl Harbor. Known as Hale Makai, Hawaiian for "house by the sea," it was once the largest building in the U.S. military. In 1941 it was a 3,200-man dormitory on that day of infamy. More than 60 Soldiers--most eating breakfast--died in the building during the attack. Today, it's still an ominous place.
"It can be spooky here at night. Sound tends to migrate through the long hallways," Bill Harris said.--The deputy command historian won't say he believes in ghosts. "But I'm not going to say he's not out there, either."
There were a rash of Charley sightings in the 1980's. People heard loud footsteps and keys jangling in empty hallways. Two women said "something" switched their radio to other stations. A janitor saw a water faucet in a bathroom suddenly turn on by itself. And a sergeant ran out of the building when heavy glass doors started to swing open --back and fourth--rapidly.
The standard answer people use to explain the strange goings-on: "That's just Charley."
The command historian at the time, Lea Arakaki, documented the strange events in her histories. Proof that Charley was part of the command. One entry read: Security forces didn't like walking the halls at nights because they were "nervous about ghosts wandering around."
Hey, Scarediecat! Glad you found us again. We miss all the folks who've dropped out, haven't had or given up.
Thanks for the new info.
Thanks kwanjin...it's good to be back... funny how taking some time off makes it even better when you come back:)
Wow, I didn't hear about those things when I was stationed at Tripler! I used to go to the beach at Hickam AFB, but don't think I was ever in any of the buildings. Drat, I always get news late...
I haven't read the whole site, but will. Thanks for sharing that, scardiecat! I wonder if there's anything about Ft. Sam Houston or Ft. Hood in Tx. I was there, too.
Here is a haunted location a few towns over from me.
Brick Kiln Lane, Pembroke, Massachusetts
On this one lane road a tapping sound can be heard... tap, pause, tap, pause, tap..., starting from the river end of the lane and proceeding down to the corner of Brick Kiln Lane and Route 53. It is believed to be the ghost of Barker Turner. He had a wooden leg, which is what you hear tapping. When living he had run the Brick Kiln Shipyard. The Brick Kiln Shipyard is where the Boston Tea Party ship the 'Beaver' was built.

So I am a firm believer in spirits and thankfully none have been "mean" ones.
The one that our whole family embraces is the spirit of my 19 year old neice who we lost in 2000 in a car accident. The Christmas after she died, her mom, dad & brother were opening presents and my SIL said "I sure do miss Heather". Well, the light next to the chair started blinking on and off. They had never had a problem with the light and checked it out after and all was fine with it. So Heather was telling them she was ok.
Last summer, our whole family went up to upstate NY for an event and we were all in our hotel room, eating pizza and chatting and someone mentioned Heather - how we missed her and the light on the wall between the beds started blinking off and on. So we "talked" to Heather and she "responded" to questions we asked.
This past spring, as my SIL was getting ready to travel to my other neice's bridal shower, one of the lights over her bathroom banity started blinking. So she "talked" to Heather and her where she was going and how we all missed her but knew she was there with her. My SIL called my BIL into the bathroom and said "I'm talking to Heather here, have anything you want to say to her"? My BIL looks up at the light and says? "Hey hon, so how are the Raiders going to do this year". The light goes out and doesn't come back on. I think she was PO'd!
Anyway, we always take Heather with us where ever we go and love "talking" to her. We're all together again next week so I'm looking forward to see if she visits us!!
LOL, now he knows not to do THAT again! What a great story, how nice that you have that special bond with her!
Isn't it wonderful when you get answers to your questions? LOL about her being POed!
Kywoods...I was at Fort Hood also - 5 years or so. Went to Ft. Sam often - great hospital. Kywoods...I was at Fort Hood also - 5 years or so. Went to Ft. Sam often - great hospital. Haven't heard of any haunting there surprisingly. Couldn't find any haunting at Ft. Hood on line. http://www.ghost411.com/reports has reports of haunting in some places in San Antonio - one at Fort Sam Houston (did you ever eat at Harlequin Dinner Theater-Fort Sam Houston, Texas)?
Latest thing for me is...I had a dream the other night that the phone was ringing. I answered it in my dream and a man said, "is Jim there"? (Jim is my hubby). In my dream I thought, "oh my, Jim is late for work". (Jim is a supervisor and it would look very bad for him to be late). It startled me so much that I woke up and looked at the clock. (our alarm clock blinks when it is turned on) - it wasn't blinking! He had forgotten to set the clock and it was already 3:15am. He has to get up at 4am! I got up and set the clock went back to bed and told him when the alarm woke him at 4!
Wow, that's incredible!
Nope, my rank wasn't high enough to vist that dinner theater, and I never heard any stories about it. Thanks for that link, it's an interesting story! I'll read the others there, too.
That was a helpful dream.
August 24, 2010 3:52 AM: I was reading in my room; I tend to get engrossed in a good book and forget the time. I had only thought of reading for an hour or two, but that was at 9:00 PM. I heard a loud thump coming from the kitchen/dining room. I am not sure what it was. I checked the pantry and nothing had fallen. It was very distinct and definitely not from the roof. I know what squirrels and raccoons sound like when they are messing about on the roof. Nokas was sound asleep in her bedroom; the noise did not seem to wake or bother her.
August 26, 2010 10:47 PM: I was in my bedroom reading when I suddenly heard two distinct raps on my door frame. I thought it was Nokas, but when I opened the door she was just coming out of the bathroom. I asked her if she had knocked on my door and she said, 'No'. I asked her if she had heard anything and again she stated, 'No'.
There is a shared wall between my room and the sewing/computer room. The closets of the two rooms are side by side on that wall, so I guess you could call it a double wall. Later on that night/early morning, I heard talking and laughter from the sewing/computer room. I went to look and as I opened my door the sounds stopped. I went in the sewing/computer room, but there was no one nor nothing there to cause the sounds I was hearing.

I've been having this reacuiring dream that I'm with old friends and we just got back from a big horse show and are trying to get some sleep. The house we're in looks alittle like my late aunts house and my friends aare in one bedroom, my sister in the other and I'm trying to sleep on the couch. In the dream a noise wakes me up and its the dogs carrying on, so I get up to quiet them as Karen, my friend, gets real pissy if she gets woke up. Anyway when I return to the couch there is a big bear on the couch, growling at me and the dogs. I throw the front door open and manage to get the bear out the door and when I turn around, I find another bear on the couch and as I'm trying to get it out of the house, I wake up for real, but find myself looking around for a bear. I've had that same dream 4 nights in a row. The same exact dream and nothing in the drean changes.

Couch
To see or dream that you are on a couch, represents rest, relaxation, laziness or boredom. It may also mean you need to clear you mind and thoughts. Consider also who is on the couch with you as the dream may also have sexual connotations.
Dog
To see a dog in your dream, symbolizes intuition, loyalty, generosity, protection, and fidelity. The dream suggests that your strong values and good intentions will enable you to go forward in the world and bring you success. The dream dog may also represent someone in your life who exhibits these qualities. Alternatively, to see a dog in your dream, indicates a skill that you may have ignored or forgotten. If the dog is vicious and/or growling, then it indicates some inner conflict within yourself. It may also indicate betrayal and untrustworthiness. If the dog is dead or dying, then it means a loss of a good friend or a deterioration of your instincts. Also consider common notions associated with the word dog, such as loyalty ("man's best friend") and to be "treated like a dog".
To hear barking in your dream, suggests that you are annoying those around you with grumpiness and fussiness. The dream may also be analogous to your tendency of barking orders at people, instead of asking or talking kindly. Alternatively, barking refers to unhappy and disgruntled companions. To dream that a dog bites your on the leg, suggests that you have lost your ability to balance aspects of your life. You may be hesitant in approaching a new situation or have no desire to move forward with your goals. Alternatively, it symbolizes disloyalty. To see a happily barking dog in your dream, symbolizes pleasures and social activity. You are being accepted into some circle. If the dog is barking ferociously, then it represents your habit of making demands on people and controlling situations around you. Are you "barking" too many orders? Alternatively, it could also indicate unfriendly companions.
Bear
To see a bear in your dream, symbolizes independence, the cycle of life, death and renewal, and resurrection. You are undergoing a period of introspection and thinking. The dream may also be a pun on "bare". Perhaps you need to bare your soul and let everything out into the open.
To dream that you are being pursued or attacked by a bear, denotes aggression, overwhelming obstacles and competition. You may find yourself in a threatening situation.
Door
To dream that you are entering through a door, signifies new opportunities that are presented before you. You are entering into a new stage in your life and moving from one level of consciousness to another. In particular, a door that opens to the outside, signifies your need to be more accessible to others, whereas a door that opens into the inside, denotes your desire for inner exploration and self-discovery.
To see an opened door in your dream, symbolizes your receptiveness and willingness to accept new ideas/concepts. In particular, to see a light behind the door, suggests that you are moving toward greater enlightenment/spirituality.
To dream that the door is closed or locked, signifies opportunities that are denied and not available to you or that you have missed out on. Something or someone is blocking your progress. It also symbolizes the ending of a phase or project. In particular, if you are outside the locked door, then it suggests that you have anti-social tendencies. If you are inside the locked door, then it represents harsh lessons that need to be learned.
To dream that you are locking the door, suggests that you are closing yourself off from others. You are hesitant in letting others in and revealing your feelings. It is indicative of some fear and low self-worth. If someone slams the door in your face, then it indicates that you are feeling shut out or some activity or that you are being ignored.

September 12, 2010 12:18 AM: I saw Him again on the porch, as I was returning to bed from a trip to bathroom. He was just standing there as usual. I stood there looking at Him for a few minutes, wanting to see what He would do. He swayed side to side for a moment, but did nothing more. I walked backwards into my room, keeping an eye on Him, closed my bedroom door and tried to go back to sleep.
November 9, 2010 1:35PM: Nokas and I were sitting in the parlor watching movies, when we heard two loud cracking noises coming from the left-hand corner of the parlor, near the porch. It was very loud and we both just about jumped out of our skins. I got up and looked, but could find nothing wrong; no cracking of the wall board or any other damage.
November 17, 2010 11:36 AM: I was home alone making jewelry, at my desk, on the porch. Nokas was not home, but volunteering at the Senior Center. As I was beading, I heard a snapping/cracking noise coming from the dining room. It was then followed by the sound of footsteps walking from the dining room, thru the kitchen doorway and around past the fireplace. As I heard this, I sat up straighter to see, but there was nothing to see. As I looked out the shadowbox window, I could still hear the footsteps moving past the bathroom, turning towards the porch. They moved past the sewing/computer room, continuing on past my bedroom. It moved past the shadowbox window, which is right beside me on the right hand side. They then came to the doorway of the porch and stopped. It was as if someone was standing there watching me. I was staring at the doorway, waiting to see what would happen. After a moment or two, I finally said, 'What?' in an exasperated tone. The footsteps then turned around and walked back the way they came and when the entered the dining room, I heard another snapping/cracking noise and then everything was silent after that. I was kind of weirded out, to say the least. I could hardly wait till Nokas came home.

Wow, you hear those loud cracking noises often! I'd be on the phone with the ghost hunters!
Wow. You take all this so calmly.
Nothing here. All is quiet.
Hi all!
It's been a while since I added to this thread, but I do check in from time to time to read all your very interesting experiences.
Hubby and I had a very strange thing happen last June. I'd like to share it with you all. I'll leave you to make up your own minds about it. Would be interested to read your thoughts on the matter.
We moved from the area this happened last September.
Where do I begin?
Ok, I'll start by saying that we'd had our beautiful and very loved little Cairn Terrier 'Gemma' put to sleep 4 days before. It was necessary, she was in pain and it was time to let her go. We were (and still are) heartbroken about it. We knew we would miss her dreadfully.
It was evening and we were watching TV and talking about Gemma. She was something of a TV addict and would often jump up and growl/bark at the screen if she saw a dog in a program or advert. We used to laugh so hard when she growled at puppet dogs. She recognised what they were, LOL
Just then I spotted a neighbour coming through our gate and hurrying to our door. Hubby answered the door and I could hear him talking to the neighbour and saw them go to the gate and look down the road. Then Hubby came indoors and called for me to go outside.
There in the distance we could see a little dog, just like our Gemma. It was running loose and seemed to be disorientated as it ran from one house to the next. Apparently this little dog had been standing at our gate, looking towards our front door and our neighbours had seen it from their upstairs window. They knew we never let Gemma out of our own Garden and they were worried that somehow she'd escaped from our garden and we weren't aware that she'd gone. They (obviously) didn't know that we'd had to have her put to sleep. Everyone in the neighbourhood knew Gemma and they all knew that nobody else in our area had a Cairn Terrier. They are a rare breed around here and we've only ever seen grey and black Cairns when we've been out in the surrounding areas. Gemma was a very pale wheaten, quite distinctive and quite the little character.
Getting back to the story...Our neighbour had watched the little dog come to our gate twice. It was then he decided to come and tell us that Gemma was running loose. You can imagine his reaction when hubby told him we no longer had Gemma.
We went back inside and we were both a little shaken by what we'd seen.
We decided to go and check it out for ourselves, even though we knew it wasn't our Gemma. For a wheaten Cairn to suddenly appear in our neighbourhood (after not having seen another Cairn Terrier within 15 miles of our home in the past 13 years) was just too strange. We knew that if it was a Cairn it would be disorientated and upset if it were lost. So off we went to look for it.
We checked out the area and couldn't see the little dog. Strangely enough we were the only people around except for a woman that we could see walking in the distance. We were hurrying, trying to catch the woman up to ask if she'd seen the dog. It seemed like the faster we hurried the faster she walked. Then I noticed that she seemed to be carrying something under her arm. I told hubby, 'She's carrying something and I think it's the dog'. Just then she passed under a street lamp (it was dusk and the lamps had just come on). We could see the dog's long coat blowing in the breeze as it was tucked under her arm.
Hubby said to not try to catch up with the woman. In his words, 'We'll never catch her, no matter how fast we run.'
We turned around and went back home.
We (personally) think it was Gemma's way of coming to say goodbye.
Or was it just another little dog who'd escaped and it's owner came looking for it??
The picture is of Gemma
Terri
Wow, Gemma was a cutie. Such a sweet face. I want to say it's just a coincidence but...
Awww, she's precious! Perhaps the lady was a beloved person who had also passed on, and she came to show Gemma the way to the rainbow bridge?
Which could be why you couldn't catch her, perhaps?
