Pass the Gypsy on the leeward side

I love hostas, they're so pretty. But I won't grow them, the slugs just go nuts. Those look like the ones that get really big leaves, no?

Good work, Dave! Looks like it's coming along nicely. DH did a few rock star portraits, back in the day. Have FZ, Neil Young hanging around (well, NOT hanging around) and John Lennon went to a friend of ours. Portraits aren't his forte, but they came out nice.

All very cool art!

Time to get serious with the lumber. Back in a while.

A hui hou!

I think maybe it is Abstract-Illusionist art....found the bird and the bunny....grin. Really nice work.

Good on you Dave....each board a step closer....just be careful and remember to eat...don't want ya tumbling off the ladder.

He appreciates your comments. If interested in seeing more, go to myartspace.com and look for Bill Golba. He said they show up better there.

When I got those drops in my eyes it really hurt for a while. They kind of ache now and I have a bit of a headache. This computer reading does not help at all.

Trina, that hosta photo, what size are those seed pods? It is hard to tell by the photo.

Are those 600 separate from any other numbers you have given?

I will read other posts later after I rest my eyes a bit.

Later!

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

yes that 600 is seperate from any other number.

those seed pods i sent you the largest ones are for those hostas.

go rest it will be better later

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Trina, do I just put all these starts in water? I think I better leave them inside. They are so fragile and that frost wouldn't be good for them.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

for now put them inside in water they need a good drink

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Thanks for the link, Julie. I will certainly check it out. I like what you have shared with us.

Venice, so sorry your eyes hurt....understand what ya mean....makes for a lot of eye strain and the cpu doesn't help at all. Try a cool compress, found that gives me some relief.

Okay, Time to fix supper....tacos and fresh salsa tonight....gotta go dice tomatoes and peppers.....later

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

only we could run 2 threads up so quickly!

I didn't know what to put those tiny minature rose starts in. I finally thought of the perfect thing. My egg cups! Then I put them in a plastic container together so they won't spill. They are by my kitchen light because it has more light there.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

that works...are you gonna start them indoors or out?

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

I think I better keep them inside. Will they root in water? Or should I plant them tomorrow with some root starter?

No thank you on those indoor plants. I have some ivy in a couple of places.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

plant them tomorrow with some rooting hormone...if you put them out miniatures need a little more mulch than the big ones so just keep that in mind

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Trina, where did the 600 seeds or plants come from?

I found an article about how to do and take care of minature roses cuttings. I will keep them inside until it is warm in spring. I will keep them by the light over my sink.

testing----lets see if this link will show cactus that I got from friend. If it comes in, its the last one on the page. Didn't give names for them. http://photobucket.com/images/catus/?page=8

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

the big one with all the "Pads"? that is awesome

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

yes, it is very old and friend got it from her mother years ago and planted it in her yard. Pretty sure it blooms too which is neat since I never got one to bloom again after I brought it home.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

I'm looking for a prickly pear that is hardy in my area...my grandfather used to have one so I'm looking for one for a memory garden for him

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Is that a catus? Sorry phone again catch ya tomorrow.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Keaau, HI

There are species that grow as far North as Idaho. I saw some there in 1976, and growing on lava.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

yeppers...my grandad got it from somewhere I don't remember but I do remember going out on a cold moonlit winter night and grandpa showing me how the ice reflected off of it and how magical the needles seemed to look with ice on them

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)
