Wow, are those lilies still blooming?

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

is it considered "more" plants whe your trading what you have to get them?

I'm not increasing the number just the variety

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Quick hello,
Well drug home more Xmas decorations. Boots, gloves and a old metal file box.
GS thinks boots and gloves are disposable, never seen a kid lose so many.

Hope its sunny somewhere cause it rainy and cold here. Trying to put out Halloween decorations, not going to well. Think its time for the couch a throw and a good book.

Only me here, it's sooo quiet. I am gonna enjoy.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

You will know when you have too many plants. If your plants start dying on you because you can't take care of them, then you have too many plants. You can have as many plants as you want as long as you can care for them. We don't count them! At least that is how I feel.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

hubby said I could not "Add" more to the number...so tradings not "Adding" is it

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Does he count your flowers?

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

no not exactly

Keaau, HI

Good afternoon everybody! Aloha ahiahi!

As Kassy pointed out, Trina's photo of the plant with Grape-like leaves and brightly colored blue & purple berries is Ampelopsis brevipedunculata, Porcelain Berry.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Good morning Dave...so are the Berries the seed or are they edible?

I got 3 cuttings from a beautiful japanese maple this morning...so here's hopping the root ok.....Got some more I still have more cuttings and plants to go...It never ends! But I love it

Keaau, HI

Hi Trina, the Porcelain berries aren't poisonous as far as I know, but there's really not much to try to eat.

I don't think the Acer species are propagatable by cuttings.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

well it will either work or it won't that's how I figure it on that Dave
nothing ventured nothing gained that's my motto
Next up is julie's coleus

Keaau, HI

To get the Japanese Maple cultivars, I believe they need to be grafted. That is why they can be quite expensive in nurseries.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

what you doing to the coleus, girl?

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

potting it up in someting other than a plastic cup

and I've been wheelin and dealin some trades today...hehehe

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Hi all..hope everyone is having a good day.

Yup Dave, you are completely right about the japanese maple.

JJs, have a great evening...warm comfy couch and a good book are hard to beat.

Carol, do you have room for some siberian irises? I have some I need to divide and if ya want some will send them to you.

(Zone 5b)

hi all, don't know how long I'll last tonight, the week wore me slap out *grin* did I get that right Moon? No no, it's slap wore out.....is that right?
Took the kids to the book store this morning, we each got 2 books... a warm throw & the couch may be in my future too JJ

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Either way is right, Lynnie. Those kids wore ya slap out, or after dealing with them you are slap wore out....grin

Who knew there was a grammatical key for Southern Speak? LOL

(Zone 5b)

the kids, the job, the house, the open houses, the appointments...yep, I'm finally run down lol of course I have to stay up at least as late as the kids....and I'm starving but it hurts to eat.

I want a Japanese Maple, I don't have enough shade for it. There were some at HD that were labelled as "sun" but I was skeptical.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Lynnie, FullMoon and Emerald Lace can both take full sun. Check out this link.

(Zone 5b)

oooh I like that emerald lace one...thanks Moon! The jp's at HD were not either of these...

one of those would look nice in the rock/conifer area...

Moon, those Japanese iris must be new. You kidding! I would love some!!! I am giving up on that butterfly bush. It hasn't grown at all and I don't even like it that much compared to other things. One thing for sure, I am going to keep those lamb's ears and Blackie sweet potato vines in pots! They can get annoying.

You know my big pot of moss roses that have been looking so nice, I was out picking seeds today and the leaves (if you call them that) were fall off! I am sure it is totally root bound for one thing. And it has had lots of rain recently. Maybe it is just getting the end of the season for them.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Venice don't freak out about the moss rose that's what it does it dies back now

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

oh yeah and Moon if your handing out Irises I'll take some!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Too welcome Lynnie. That is why I sent the link I did. So hard to find a lot of stuff at HD and specialty places can charge a fortune. I knew you had at least one place in mind for a tree....grin

Cool, Carol. What I have are pretty dark blue siberian irises. I will pack some up for you when I divide them. Do you have room for some daylilies also?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I will see what I have left after I meet my promises, Trina, but you can not grow these inside in pots.

The portulaca is getting near the end of its season, Venice. Collect your seeds and sow it again in the spring.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

i know they will go in the garden with the bearded iris

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Moon, JJ gave me some daylilies. But one can never have enough pretty daylilies!!!! So, yes please. Thanks!!

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

hey how much would one normally pay for calla lillies in 6" pots?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Yeah, daylilies make great borders and fill in trouble spots really well. I will set aside some for you when I divide up these clumps...may not be able to tell you what color as these are designers from my MIL who got tired of them so had DHJim dig them up and stick them in garbage bags....they went into the ground in clumps last fall and some of them bloomed while we were gone....but, if ya don't care what color they are I will send you some.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Nope! Dont really care!

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Hey Moon you guys are starting to wear off on me...I accepted daylillies in a trade today

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I love daylilies. Easy care and pretty blooms....what's not to like?

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

hellooo everyone! Trina, will these be the 1st daylillies you have?

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

maybe its just the goofy suprise lilly orange thingys I have a severe dislike for

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

yes Julie they will be my first daylillies

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

my MIL bought me some from her favorite shopping place - QVC. 4 different kinds. They were ice carnival, daring deception, buttered popcorn & strawberry candy. The ice carnival bloomed (I got them pretty late), real pretty flower.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Hey Julie...ya showed up just in time for me to say Good Night....grin

How was your visit with your Mom today?

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

we will see what happens AFTER i get them planted and they bloom for me...but I was kinda pokin around the Plant Files some and there are a few in there I could probably live with
