Sorry Cookie.. I posted that pic without thinking. I do apologize if it offends you. No malice intended, just thought I had a better "Caught You Moment" pic, when Henry posted that pic of you running away.
Can't remove the pic with editing.. :(

Trisha, you must be tired. However hectic your days may be, you never failed to appreciate whatever beauty nature throws your way.
Is that Mount Olympus?
Simply beautiful....

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Darn.. CRS again...
Trisha, how's Lisa doing?

Linda, I'm sorry I missed your call tonight. I left a message on your answering machine. Figured you'll be working early tomorrow.
Hope today went well for you.

Me heading for bed. I'll see you all in the morning.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

((((((((((((((Linda))))))))))))))))) so sorry to hear about your loss of son
I just got back from tenting/camping so hadn't heard about Michael until tonight.
Take care of yourself, and know you and your family are in my prayers...God Bless you in your time of need.
Michael, through whatever means, is now with God, and God must have needed Michael for a purpose.....

Well, it's not one of my better pictures, Jaye, but it's ok! ^_^

I hope some of you can help me. I will be Walking for a Cure for my Granddaughter Jordyn who is 15 1/2 years old and has Juvenile diabetes since right before she turned 11. The JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) has done many wonderful things in the research to cure this awful disease.

Jordyn is doing very well right now. She has just started using an insulin pump and her diagnosis has gone from JD "Uncontrolled", to JD "Controlled". This is wonderful, wonderful news for her. She is such an upbeat young lady and has handled herself with such maturity since being diagnosed. This is a terrible disease for an adult to have, (ask Jaye), but for a child, it is so, so sad.

If you would care to donate to the JDRF through me, you can make an online donation here:

https://walk.jdrf.org

There will be a place to say donate now and I am registered under Joyce Thomas, walking for Jordyn's Jammers (walk is held in Dayton, Ohio this coming Saturday 10/3). I thank you in advance for helping me, Jordyn and all the other little ones with JD.

I love each and every one of you!

LOL boy was I fooled!!! Jaye you were so right about that Nigerian scam. Yep Jack was in on it. I get on this morning to talk to him and the first thing he said was he was doomed. I knew what was coming. Wanted me to cash some money orders for him I told him I couldn't help him he then ask why and that is when I yelled back at him the I knew he was a scam and not to contact me ever again. There was no reply what so ever. OMG!!! How can I report him? Does anyone know?

Well gotta hit the shower, going to baby sit granddaughter she has sore throat. The high school my grandson goes too has the H1N1 virus going around and they are thinking of closing the school. What's to think? Close IT!!! geez

Good morning!
Whew.... Cookie, I know you don't mind but I had asked admin to delete the pic, and the whole post is removed, cause they can't extract the pic. That pic wasn't meant to be shared.. if Kel were to know.... he'd be asking me what I was thinking then :D
Yes, diabetes is a very serious illness. Siti, my little niece who just became a teenager, is wearing a pump. Unfortunately, where she's at right now, diabetes is a stigma---- lack of education. Her pump is her best friend. Her best friend can save her life.
I'm pledging to a donation Cookie.

In that *deleted* post, I had also suggested for LK to buy a storage building. Your cloth collection will grow like wildfires!!! Believe me, once you got the quilting bug, there's no stopping to your stash build up. Kel says we need to invest in those big plastic tote companies. We seem to buy more of them every month!!!

Cindy, I'm just like Pegi when it comes to you and your possible 2009 romance!!
When I read Jack's in Nigeria, first thing that came into mind was the scams!!
Don't know where you can report him.
But you can always try your tv station!

Trisha, I've travelled much, but have never seen a snow covered mountain. Would love to see Mt. Rainer one day.
I had at one time, visualized the pyramids... positive thinking certainly brought me to the Giza!! Ohhh what a sight in flesh!!
Do you have any more pics?

You're back Susan! Bet you're recharged for the week! How was the camping? What did you eat.... see any grizzlies? And I hope the weather had been perfect for you and Bob.

Donna, you must be over the cruds. Hope your client list gets longer.
Maintain that positive attitude.

Sis Kathy, good morning to you! Are the goats gone??

Audrey, how are you today? Feeling better?

Laura, I assume your anniversary celebration went well. Yep you are both in the honeymoon phase. You are both a remarkable young couple.. still together through so much hurdles.

Marion, hope you had a good weekend.

Juanita, are you packed for your vacation?

Crissy, I know you'll be happily avoiding Ms. Cheerful this week. Somehow, I think Ms. Cheerful needs to spend some time at a retirement home.....

I'm off feeding the rescues. Named them Possum and Farrah. Possum has no eyeballs. She was all fur and bones with sunken cheeks. Couldn't take a pic of her at first... kinda superstitious that she might not make it. Now it's almost a month, and she has filled up.
Still in a large cage, but pretty soon, she'll have to feel and sniff her way around the house and especially the other furry babies.
We'll be putting a bell around her so we'll know where she is at all times.
Lord has been so good to us. Paying back can include His creatures ;)

Indeed Cookie that is a wonderful cause. Plan on my donation also. In fact, already taken care of--with pleasure for me.

I am one sore lady today. Spent 4 hours boating with my son and oldest granddaughter yesterday. Of course she had received a new paddle just her size so she wanted to learn to use it!! Biggest surprise to learn was Grandma knows how to paddle. LOL Well we didn't use the motor very often and boy, can my arms and shoulders tell it today. Was a wonderful day seeing plenty of birds, turtles and little alligators. Yes, she did learn to "oar" the boat but Daddy and Grandma paddled according to her.

Now I am off to the grocery store. DIL is out of town so I have been requested to fix dinner (daddy isn't a good cook) for them. Fried chicken, 'smashed potatoes and green beans have been ordered and for not being able to go to the beach with Mom and little sister because of school, a brownie with ice cream for dessert. Guess Grandma better get busy.

Chat latter.

Morning Sistahs!

well, having internet connect problems..... again. If y'all don't hear from me for a while, it's most likely internet. LOL last time it took months for Randall to get it back up for me after many tries. this laptop is getting a bit older (2 years), and last time that's when mine failed.

jordanjokitty - nice to see you pop up again! I've missed you

you're smart, Cindy, let the fellas come to you. no letting a stranger fly you to whatever might happen to you, or getting scammed.

gotta go irising......

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Thank you Marion and Jaye. The money is put to good cause, that I know for a fact. The good news is, they think there will be a cure for JD in Jordyn's lifetime. Now THAT is GOOD news!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! I was up early, and running to the Doc, for lab work, Just got to keep an eye on my sugar levels. Doc says I am pre diabetes, what ever that means. Everything else is fine.

Cindy, the first thing I would do is report him to the website youall met through. You know he is doing this to others as well! Then you can go to this web site. It is through the FBI, and they can get him for sure!

I hate creeps like that! Just makes ya so mad! Please take care!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Cindy scams and scammers are everywhere, especially here on the net. I would call the NY police dept, or whatever town he lives in up there, and give them all of the information you know, of course if all you have is a first name, that may not be his name at all, and a picture that also may not be him, they're not going to be able to do anything. This is one of the many reasons why I was telling you to please be careful.

A few months ago they had a man on Dateline, actually the women he dated, he was a very well known scammer in the LA area. He had a picture on line of himself, a very nice looking respectful man, on an online dating service. When the women would go to meet him he was aged about 25 years and weighed about 300lbs more. Almost every woman stayed to have dinner anyway and he would sweet talk them and do whatever, next thing you know they're in the scam with him when they never did anything to help. By them having dinner with him he was able to con these womens' names, phone numbers, and sometimes other personal information.

Well I've got to get back to work, thanks for sharing the RU pics! Love them! Oh it's lunch time! Woo Hoo!

I'll be MIA from Wednesday afternoon through Friday, I'll be gone to my conference.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LK That's a better idea. I was typing all of this while ya'll were posting LOL It's definitely Monday!

I'll be donating too :)

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

I met a man in a "dive" one time who said he was independantle wealthy! I didn't fall for that! He wouldn't have been there if he was! You really have to be careful, especially on line! Just because you're truthfull is no guarantee he is!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Grandma Marion, I'm coming over for some of that 'smashed potatoes!!

LK, watch your sugar intake. Avoid sodas, or only drink sugar free stuffs. You know what to do.
Pre-diabetic means you might be disposed to adult-onset diabetes or better known as Type 2 diabetes.
This is better controlled with diet.

Ouch Sis. So any movement is miserable for you? Hope you've cut back on what you got to take care outside.
Let us know what the neurologist says.

You're right Audrey. A wealthy man has 'liasons' or someone else do the looking!

At least our Cindy here is smart enough to sniff the bad ones out!

Well.. Bonnie's off irising.. I'm off potting!! . Been too long since I played with dirt.. oh what fun!

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

I've been warned about scammers, but never met anyone who almost got caught up in one. Yep, pretty scary sometimes. A couple years ago I got an e-mail and was glad I put it in my scam file. It did mention Nigeria, but forgot about that until now.

Just want to tell you that we went to the RU and had such a nice time. It was so hot, but there were misters all over the patio and yard and it was very comfortable. Such a gracious hostess and such wonderful people. Food was so good too and I came home with some plants that I hope will keep growing for me. Go to the Ca. RU 2009 forum to see some nice pictures others took. I'm in a couple of them. LOL

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Just another thought, my doctor said something about pre-diabetic a few months ago and when I asked about that he said my sugar was up but is OK now. Guess that means I better watch out, and I do love all sweets too. Now I've heard about all those artificial sweetners are so bad for you, just what is a person to do.........

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Everything in moderation, Pegi.
Only artificial sweetener I take is Sweet & Low.. been there longer than the rest.

Btw, how's your hubby bone extray?

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Well at least I know Steve is the real deal, lol. Was talking to him on the phone when I heard his mama in background to ask me to go to the Cowboy Poetry thing. I looked it up and it's sounds like it is going to be a lot of fun. Dinner, then the story telling then dancing and a wagon ride thru town. I think I'm going to quit searching for now and stick with Steve.

So Thanks ladies for all the advice and warnings.

And Crissy I had thought all about his pix and name not really being his. As soon as I told him I knew it was a scam and to not contact me again there was no replies so yep he was a scammer.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

So it's back to..

Cindy and Stevie sitting in a tree:

K-I-S-S-I-N-G

No, that can't be right.. got to be a cowboy thing..

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hehehehe.. comic relief for Crissy and Susan who must not have fun at work!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Cindy, so glad you caught that, before it became worse! Good for you!

Ladies, I had to share this with you!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DzaBC680oK8

This 32 sec you tube video, is of my nephew. My Sisters youngest son! He made this short video, that will be played in the local theater, where everyone will see it. It is about his weight loss. I am so proud of him. And as soon as he has the surgery to remove all the extra skin, he will lose another 50 - 70 pounds!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

sis i did it. oops, forgot the link

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Jaye, we won't hear about the bone scan until I make a doctor's appointment for him in another month. If it wasn't OK we probably would have heard about it by now. He knows he has arthritis in his spine which doesn't seem to bother him too much.

Potted up some of my plants I got at the RU and I hope they grow for me. My usual trip to the thrift store (Monday is my day) I found a nice book on bulbs, so I will be reading up on them now. Got a slip of an angel wing begonia and I put a little rooting hormone on it and stuck it in a pot of soil and put it undemy grow light. I really want this to root for me. Also got some rain lily bulbs and since I don't know what they look like I'm going to be surprised. Of course, I could look in the plant files.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Pegi - your Angel Wing Begonia - does it look like a Cane Begonia?

My grandmother, and then my dad, used to grow them, and that's what they were called (or Elephant Ear). Nowadays the GH's sell tiny leaved plants with tiny flowers, and try to tell me they're the same thing. Of course they're Not!

The ones I know have huge leaves (size of a man's open hand) with clusters of pretty pink flowers. They grow about 5' tall, and the canes have "knuckles" like canes.

I've got one from a DGer, and it's growing well. It's a tropical.

Susan! That is what an Angel Wing Begonia is supposed to look like!! Everything I fin these days have leaves that look like that but they are tiny and far apart...Yours is the one like my grandmother had!!

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Jordan, I had really good curried goat when DH and I went to Seattle. I decided I really like goat meat…

Jaye, the restaurant we went to is called Pam’s Kitchen; it’s authentic Trinidadian cuisine. I saw it on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, on the Food Network. If anyone is in Seattle I strongly recommend checking it out. It’s only open for dinner, we almost missed going there because they don’t open till 5:30 and we thought they were closed when we drove by.

I'm sure we are still in the Honeymoon phase, but we mesh so well there is no doubt in my mind that we'll be married for life. Being married for life runs in my family.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Pegi, the thrift stores here have nothing to offer, unless I make a trip to the beach. Then the prices are incredible, even at the Salvation Army stores. Always on a lookout for something unusual or old books.

Susan, last year I had an variegated Angel Wing Begonia.. one with kinda spotted huge leaves, yet the blooms are pink. Didn't overwinter it, and I wished I had bought one this year. I bought that one at a local nursery. The box stores only carry those with small leaves.

Laura, Kel says you are so lucky to be living close to a gourmet paradise!!!
Pam's Kitchen! I remember that show! She cooks Trinidia/Caribbean/Indian fare.. and I recall her cooking her chicken pieces in oil with a some sugar that amazed Dave. Cajuns do that too!
Ooh I bet her food's delicious and I want to taste her homemade paratha!

My mom stopped serving goat to me when I was 12. Kinda allergic to it. One day, she tried to fool me and said she's cooking beef korma with lots of lemon grass..
That night, I couldn't sleep, and since then, if she's cooking mutton, I get chicken instead.

Judy, if you're lurking, I hope you have a good night sleep ;)

Glenview, IL

Wink!
Thank you Sistah...

Love to all

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

No Goat tonight....it is mom's 81st birthday so we took her out to her favorite Asian place...chicken is her dish of choice.

Have a good night everyone.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Susan, that is one lovely plant. The cutting I have is small so I don't know what kind of blooms it will have Leaves look about the same, but are ruffled. The plant the cutting is from isn't very big yet and I didn't see any blooms. Guess I will have to wait and see.
