Drooling over the Crapes! Dnut---have you ever grown codonopsis? I'm not familiar with it---Jo Ann---love that basalt fountain. When DH & I went up to Boothbay Harbor on Tues., we parked in front of a very small, hilly yard that had just a pottery jar made into a fountain---looked very nice. Fountains & water features just make a garden---

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

i like the sound.
almost time to turn it off for the year.
on again April 1

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Codonopsis is new for me RD. I didn't think it was hardy here. My friend has it in mostly shade and it has self sown for her. It crawls up her shrubs. I luve the pic of the caster leaf Victor.

Allison, your 'freak squad' neighbors sound pretty bad to me. Glad I don't have neighbors like that. I know a cop in our town, lives in my friend Karen's neighborhood, whose house looks like it needs to be condemned. He has no gardens, his yard is all weeds that are never mowed, etc. Just a really junky looking place. I'd hate to see the inside.

Bill, try spraying your neighbor's cat with the hose every time it visits. The dog, too. Maybe they'll eventually get the hint.

Victor, I agree with you that cats should be kept indoors. Many bird species are suffering from the predations of cats that are either feral or allowed to wander outside. They're safer indoors, too. Think of all the dangers they are subject to when allowed to wander.

Jo Anne, I like that collage with the geese.

Marilyn, love your roses, asters and nicotiana. Very pretty! And that creeping Jenny is great, too.

Great shots, Victor! I love your crapes. I want some now. You should post some of those on the backlit thread.

You have some nice looking things in your garden, Jen.

Karen

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Thanks Karen
This sub division is near farms that are harvesting corn and soybeans not to mention a large three pond park 2 miles away.
Geese are sometimes so low,I can hear their wings swooshing over headas they are going over to the fields to feed and the migraters love the ponds.

Thanks---very light fragrance on the rose---it's very short--only a foot tall---I transplanted it this summer, it lost all of its leaves, but I guess you can't kill it.

cotinus grace seems to attract all the bugs - spotted this one as i was grilling last night

Cool! Looks like a dead leaf. The only bad thing about Grace is that it gets leggy and needs pruning back.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

you are right about that - new last fall and this branch goes up to my second floor deck, maybe 10' and the other two branchs are down at normal bush level - planned on trimming it in the spring
