oooooo about the Electric Limey coleus. uh oh my 'Pink Diamond' doesn't look like Victor's. Maybe cuz it's a baby? I will post a pic later. Mines still blushy instead of dark pink probably cuz we get more sunlight still?

Thanks. Yes, I have dried them a few times in the past. Haven't for some time. I have to remember to this year.

Along with my usual classics like Ghosts in the Garden and the Forking Dance, I have been working on a new dance for my southern friends called 'The Return of the Southern Gardener'. I will try to get my DH to take pics ^_^

beautiful photos all... I am pooped out from starting the halloween decorating.... it's exhausting.. but we love it

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

you must - none done here at all - VENTING - new family across the street with kids though - thinking i should save their cat poo for them - their cat not mine.

all of you with cats is there a way to stop them from visiting a neighbors yard? - i'm thinking not - we have no dog leash law here either. cat is getting very annoying, worse than geese.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Get a dog.

They have this....

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

No leash law is dreadful. They are more nuiscence than cats with bigger poops they dont burry.
I have cats and am sometimes embarrased about their habits but they do keep the rodant population down.
I know they dig in gardens, mine too.
No leash is also tough on animals that arent neutered. Just add to the population of unwanted pets.
NO I am not going into that rant about animal rights and freedoms.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

my one neighbor lets his dog run free and we do have a leash law... my biggest concern is either his dog getting hit by a car... or getting into a fight with my two... Lily is not happy about strange dogs visiting... but every time I would see the dog in my yard... he would get wet with the hose... he stopped coming around... the part of this that really ticks me off is if Lily is in heat... and that dog is loose ... they get into a fight and someone gets hurt... even though mine is on a leash.. I would be held responsible because she is in heat... and should not be out walking in the street... and that came right from the animal control person... now tell me how the heck did that law go that way???

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Here is how the law works in our town.
If you report th loose dog to the town, after the report the town sends a letter to the owner.
After the third report the complainer (me) can take the owner to court.
I did and it worked.
The town provides a lawyer for the complaintant and the owner is fined or is given a sitation to comply, in this case he had to build a dog pen that couldnt be opened by the children.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

my animal control visits the house regularly to have a chat with the owners... they said only if I make a formal complaint they can take action... which I don't want to be that neighbor... I understand the mother has alzheimers... and doesn't realize she lets the dog out... I just hope nothing bad happens to the dog

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Thats a sensative problem.
This nieghbors dog was out at 5 in the morning because he had gone on a hunting trip leaving his wife home just from the hospital from stomach surgery. He also had 2 kids who would let the dog out to play with it and then just leve it to roam the hood.
Winter was awful with garbage cans dumped and krapp strewn all over, not to mention poop imbedded in frozen coffee grounds and egg shels and frozen out meal.Kids comming in from outdoors with poop on boots and snow suites.
It was a nightmare.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Terrible wha! I don't own a cat or a dog and I don't tolerate them on my premises, under any circumstances.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

sounds like a nightmare... with that bear roaming around here... I was hoping they can keep the dog contained.. it just amazes me that they haven't put up a fence or something around the doors.. they don't walk the dog.. just keep him on a tether in the front yard for hours... barking his head off.. I am way down the street and he annoys me... and to own yorkies and I can say my dogs are quieter than that one... and the reason I moved my fence to the back yard... they have less to bark at back there... my one neighbor that would be annoyed by them is a dog owner... and he really doesn't care... I told that neighbor about the deer fencing we put up for our guys... and how affordable it was... but they claim that dog can jump 6 feet over a fence... I actually feel bad for it.. if you ever heard me refer to the freak squad that live up the street... those are the owners... I won't get into all the non PC problems.. but long story short they met at a meeting of sorts... he was homeless .. she doesn't work... and is in her 50's... never worked a day in her life... lives off her deceased fathers retirement...(hence the reason the mother has not been put in a home to get proper care)... they really don't leave the house much other than to go food shopping and the "meetings"... and go every week to get the hair done.... got married a few months after they met... she built a separate apartment in her basement for him.... with a hot tub... (for his bad back)... and according to her they never consummated the marriage (yes these are the things she talks about).... and asked me if I thought it was strange... all the guy does it play his rock music really loud and attempt to play the guitar to it... and sleep all day.. they are the people that claimed they had a gas leak when we had that earthquake ... and had all sorts of hub bub going on because of it... for no reason... just makes me shake my head ... quite often ... and loves to hand me pamphlets on how to make my life better... LOL

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Oh my gosh, Allison what a story! Good thing they're not RIGHT next door to you.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

no kidding... freak squad is appropriate ... you have to see the condition of the house too... it's all falling apart ... trees growing in the gutters ... the ones that aren't falling off... roof is shot... well you get the idea... but I feel bad for the neighbors right next to them.. both old couples ... with that barking all day... all day... the little dog is cute... but boy is he loud!!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i forgot to say they have a dog too - and let it run across the street to my yard - the cat though is not normal, it does not bury its poo - i even found some on the driveway the other day - and i need to remember to move the stuff i almost stepped in on the lawn.

i've only found one chipmunk tail - and i'm not giving the cat credit for that yet - stranger is that there are woods behind their house (its where i got all my rock for the driveway wall) and the cat seems to prefer my yard.

not having a leash law has really not been a problem here - everyone has their dogs tied up during the day - only one old black lab roamed around from the farm up the street - i would bump into this dog everywhere - it had a huge route it would go on and i think everyone would feed it - my wife bought dog biscuits for it - from time to time it would hang out with me for hours while i worked in the yard - think it has passed on now - that was a pretty good dog.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

oh joy... when you don't expect to watch for poo... that's annoying
