evening all,

oh what a exausting day!
had to go to napa to visit inlaws do some work fil is so discouraged with his back and is so discusted to get out of the wheel chair and walk again but he needs more time and is impatient, so mil surprised me with dh's grandmothers china it is sone china from occupied japan i was so honored to recieve it.
while all of this was going on, my granny fell in the bathroom toilet overflowed cause her slip,
she scooted to the bed couldnt figure out how to get up,
i had called her like i do and got yelled at, so my mom ,uncle went to go in the house, but both had forgoted the top key to her house.
the fire truck showed up they went through a open window questioned her she threw them out, telling them it was a freak accident and she is fine and is not going to hospital, so my mom signed the waiver.
so after all day arguing with the family she finally agreed to have a bar put in the bathroom, she is ok now just irritated gawd she is so stubborn! but she is holding her ground, but we are going to do things to make her life easier, installing things so she dosnt fall and loose her balance.
i am so metally exausted! so with that hope you all had a nice weekend
love all the pictures got to turn in.

but crissy lol do you still have feathers with tiga?

Baton Rouge, LA

Geez Liz! What bad timing.....But maybe a good thing to get everything done up "handicapped" so she can get around a bit easier.....

Betty, et al....you remember Dad's new Trike he was all so excited about? Well he and his wife, finally going on a vacation to Tennesee...and sight seeing with a bunch of folks...and he runs off the road. He is okay....his wife will be in Knoxville Hospital for a while....they've been there for 2 weeks (there one week before he even called me to tell me). She is in bad shape.

I can't believe the whole thing....my Dad is the best driver I've ever known...he has navigated airplanes in the Air Force and driven 18 wheelers when retired...he NEVER had accidents...it's SO SO not like him to make a mistake while driving.

The irony is really crazy. My Mom would never let him get a motorcycle while they were married because she knew they were dangerous. Now look what happens ...and they had just gotten the darn thing....

Life sometimes makes perfect sense in the oddest of ways.....albeit...even though bad things happen.

(((HUGS)))
Mary

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

my thoughts and prayers are with you both, hang in there and find the humor in the bad sometimes that helps you through. If that doesn't work go get yourself a nice milk shake or lataa and reflect on the good times you've had as this hardship will pass. Stay strong girls, I know you can do it!

Liz prayers going to your FIL with his back issues and getting grandma squared away.

Mary I deeply apologize but I missed something or am just too tired to comprehend, which could be a big part of my issue, , but what happened to your dad? Did he get in a motorcycle accident?

Oh yes Liz, Tiga cuddles with Feather. It's way cute seeing them play together too, but he's covered in cat fur!

I'm busy busy busy today so I'll see ya'll later.

Hey Crissy - Yes - Dad & his wife went on a vacation (which they NEVER do)...riding his new "trike" with a bunch of other folks through Tennessee....

He said they were merely taking in the sights...and went too close to the edge of the road...there was no shoulder and they fell..... His wife has been in the hospital for going on 3 weeks...up there in Knoxville. Broken Ribs, Punctured lung, etc etc.

They don't know when she will be discharged....

They live near Panama City FL....so I'm sure it's tough ....being up there for so long....so far from home.

Glenview, IL

OMG!!
Mary, How incredibly terrible!!
I am so sorry to hear this. Many prayers that she recovers fully.
...I know you are probably totally distraught over such happenings. I am glad that you Dad is ok...my God, Just don't know what to say.

Crissy, so sorry to hear your mom is so sick as well. Prayers for sure.

Tubby and Shirley...good heavens, I sure hope that the docs can find where that infection is. In meantime, Know you are still in all our prayers. Thank you for keeping us updated.

Geesh Liz, I am glad to hear Granny is ok after a fall. She is one spunky lady, lol gotta giggle at that.
Yikes, you got your hands full there too. Tell FIL not to give up, keeping everyone in prayersand thougts.

Debbie, sweetie, I hope you get to feeling better too. Lets see if i can find a cute picture of Skittles for you.

Bev, oh my gosh, powder is such a love.
Hope you and Scotty are both well.

Hi Susan! Trisha! Barb!

Betty, so sorry you didn't get to see the little one with table and chairs. Hopefully mom will have taken a photo for you.
Aw, I so happy the Double Birthday was a success.
Also hope your migranes are gone.

We had a real nice weekend. For me, a bit busy but also relaxing.
Kids put that Grand tetons puzzles together not once but twice...lol, totally myfault with a bright idea that didn't work!
oh gosh got to get some podge to glue ' em together.

Worked on the front deck weeding, that was fun for me, sore and stiff for it.
Glad to be home.

Not much in my world going on, same old thing, different day.

For Debbie.

But the Best is I went and got a real pretty material, I think that will complete my tote.

Worst, So many illnesses happening and all i can do is pray and pray hard for better days.

Learned, keeping the Faith, ...Just have to remember, in his time not mine. I know God hears all

Good night...it's late andIi am exhausted.
Gentle armwraps to all.

Mary, so osrry to hear about your Dad and his wife! Please know we will add them to our prayers!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

OMG Mary!! That's horrible! Prayers are being said for her full and speedy recovery.

Oh Look at Skittles!! How sweet!!

I had another late night last night, that's two in a row. Sunday night was late because I decided to be a lazy daisy Sunday and not get out of bed until after noon, so of course I didn't get sleepy until 1am. Last night we had a Squall Line come through and it was severe, I was watching the radar report and they show the lightning and whirlybirds as well as the rain, it was red, solid white with lightning, 60+ mph winds, and a couple of whirlybirds showing rotation way up north. I saw the whirlybirds and got myself all worked up, Dave was at work and from the speed it was moving it should have been here at 11:00pm, which is when he gets off work, so I text him and told him to watch the weather and leave work early if at all possible, don't want him driving 35 minutes on the interstate in the dark through that! LOL!! Thank Goodness it slowed down and started to weaken right before it got here and it ended up not getting here until right after midnight, so he made it home safely but said the lightning just in the distance was like a strobe light. I didn't get to bed until 12:30am because I was all paranoid LOL

Lyndonville, NY

Mary, I am so sorry to hear about your Dad and his wife! OMG. I hate motorcycles....and when DH rides his, he leaves for work at 4:30 in the morning.....I am up til I know he is at work safely. He send me an email "arrived safely". Then I get my son off to school, and usually sneak in a nap early morning. Those trikes are supposed to be some of the safest...but if that wheel grabs the shoulder....it is not good, regardless of bike.
Lots of prayers!

Judy, thank you for the picture of Skittles! She is the prettiest girl, I swear! one of my tiels has learned how to open the cage door...and he escaped when Shannon was home alone. With all these cats in the house...not a good thing. So now a pipecleaner serves as a lock.

Liz, you and Kenny had to have your ears ringing yesterday. I was laughing so hard, saw a little Chipmunk running back and forth at the neighbors....so reminded me of you two at Judys with that little guy.

Bev, hugs to you and Scotty. Stay strong....you can and WILL do this! For both of you, and for us...so we can have you around for a long long time.

Waving hello and hugs to everyone.....I have a nap sneaking up. I have driven to Rochester for the last 5 days....daily....and am exhausted.

Debbie

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Waving to all...

Mary sorry about your dad and his wife....rode motorcycles for years...love to ride but you do have to be extra careful....my cousin had a 16 year old girl run a stop sign in front of him in his late twenties....he almost didn't survive it and over 40 years later he still has problems relating to that accident.

Have spent a day getting all of Bill's stuff together, business cards made.... and making sure he was all ready to leave for Las Vegas. Have the house all to myself until Friday night!! Then have spent the past two days out clothes shopping with Laura...their third anniversary is tomorrow and she wanted something new to wear to dinner in Seattle tomorrow night. I am keeping Sage over night.

Hope all are clear of the flooding and rains...it looks like some areas are getting hit very hard....we have lucked out, sun and high seventies/low eighties this week.

Everyone take care, be safe, have a good night.

Baton Rouge, LA

Thanks for all the well wishes! I'll pop in a bit later and read more...

Skittles is so bright and cheerful....!

Trisha - are they having a Bike convention or something in Vegas?

Crissy - I'm glad you missed any severe weather...I know how it terrifies you...me as well.... Of course you always have the shelter!
Thanks Trisha, Debbie, Judy, LK, Crissy.....and everyone prior ...Bev, FLowers, Betty, Susan for the thoughts & Prayers...

Honestly I've had so much drama with the teens at school...I have hardly had time to deal with everything. I sent a Fruit basket, and a card and have been calling to check on them. Can't go up there...what with the new job and all.....

I'll check back in a bit....Hugs to all,

Mary

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Yes Mary, the yearly Interbike Convention....been there done that way too many times, so glad I get to stay home this time!!

Hello to all you dear friends:
I will try and catch you up on what has all been going on. Tubby has been taking it easy the last couple of days. He has slept alot and sits here at the table and reads the threads and has alot of laughs. I can't imagine how boring it would be for him if he didn't have his computer. He does watch TV, but he has seen every Western a few dozen times and many other shows.
We go to the Cancer Dr. tomorrow and find out how the counts are doing and how many more rounds of Chemo he'll have to go before transplant. We go to his primary Dr. after that and see what things about all that has gone on over the weekend. We go to the Eye Dr. on Thursday to see how his eye if progressing and how soon he wants to repeat the laser tx. on his left eye and he still wants to do laser tx. on the right.
There isn't a dull minute some days. That's okay as long as it helps Tubby get better. I just hate the H--- he goes through. I will be his strength and do what ever I have to, to have him with us as long as possible.
He has been busy looking over the seeds for next spring and is always thinking of things to come up with. He is busy, even when he isn't moving. LOL
Sometimes I get tired just thinking about what he is planning. I need a shot of extra energy, just haven't found the Dr. that knows about that shot. Oh well!
I will close for now, and will check in with you all later. We want to say thanks for all the prayers and thoughts. They help so much. Best wishes to you all and have a lovely day.
Tubby & Shirley

Lyndonville, NY

((((Shirley & Tubby))))) So glad to hear from you. I am sure Tubby is planning the perfect gardens for next year, and I hope he does better than I have done. We lost all of our tomatos to blite, and DH had to toss everything out. However, we have peppers coming out of our ears....and I can't eat peppers! LOL

Keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers, so glad God gave you each other for times like these.

Be back later, I have school meetings this morning.

Debbie

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Hiya Trisha! looks like you have had a busy couple of days! You sound like you are enjoying all, so glad for you.

Debbie, YW...Glad Skittles cheered you up. OH MY Gosh, yep better lock up birdie...I had a cat once same as I had my first bird a parakeet named Sunshine, anyway Birdie got out and flew...more like tease the cat Shadow and being the mighty hunter, he grabbed her down. Being the crazy mom, I pounced of the cat and birdie flew back to cage...Scold, scold Cat! LOL, next day Cat was sitting on Birdie cage with arm in between, Birdie dive bombing and screeching...Yikes, Next day Shadow gone, found new home with no birdies!
Oh I loved Shadow, but I had Sunshine first.
LOLOL, not telling you to find homes for all those cats, just saying lock up Birdie, they are smart ones arn't they?
I like this new cage much better, no way Skittles can escape unless someone leaves door open, and she is quick to notice all.

OMG, Sabrina drove in the rain!! Oh now I am exagerating big...was more like a couple of tears. Ack, i wasn't ready for that but she was already driving when it started. But I gotta say she did very well, turned on wipers like she has been doing it for years.
...Mary, How's your DS doing with his driving?
And you know, what a wonderful tool this driving is? Hmmmm, only had to used the Hard to let you drive if your not goning to do what your suppose to thing once! Snap, just like that, kids getting up on time, doing chores, hitting curfew...etc, etc...

Tubby and Shirley thank you so much for checking in. I hope he can have his eyes done and get finished with chemo so the transplant can happen and he can get his energy back and all. I bet it stresses you out to the max, you are a strong woman!

Oh good Bev, I'm glad you got those hornets. Ours have almost completely disappeared, maybe they're about done. I haven't seen any red wasps or mud dobbers in quite a while either. Summer is definitely coming to a close.

I didn't go out and look at my brugs yesterday, that was stupid as I completely forgot about them! The Early Girl tomato plant is almost completely dead and the Arkansas Tomato plant isn't far behind. I think one of my watermelons is ready, there are 3 more growing but I don't know if they're going to have time to, the vine seems to be shrinking. Let's see, oh!! I just want to tell you that I knew Ms. Cheerful's niceness couldn't last forever, I was walking to my desk when I got here this morning and she was in the kitchen, she looked up from watching the microwave to see who was coming and rolled her eyes as she looked back down. She's said good morning to everyone but me. Here we go again, except this time I'll go work at my workstation in someone else private office and tell her to kmr.

Snopes says true

New kind of Breast Cancer - DO NOT DELETE
Please forward to all of the women in your lives .. Mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, friends, etc.

In November, a rare kind of breast cancer was found. A lady developed a rash on her breast, similar to that of young mothers who are nursing.

Because her mammogram had been clear, the doctor treated her with antibiotics for infections. After 2 rounds, it continued to get worse, so her doctor sent her for another mammogram. This time it showed a mass.

A biopsy found a fast growing malignancy. Chemo was started in order to shrink the growth; then a mastectomy was performed; then a full round of Chemo; then radiation. After about 9 months of intense treatment, she was given a clean bill of health.

She had one year of living each day to its fullest. Then the cancer returned to the liver area. She took 4 treatments and decided that she wanted quality of life, not the after effects of Chemo. She had 5 great months and she planned each detail of the final days. After a few days of needing morphine, she died. She left this message to be delivered to women everywhere:

Women, PLEASE be alert to anything that is not normal, and be persistent in getting help as soon as possible.

Paget's Disease: This is a rare form of breast cancer, and is on the outside of the breast, on the nipple and aureole It appeared as a rash, which later became a lesion with a crusty outer edge. I would not have ever suspected it to be breast cancer but it was. My nipple never seemed any different to me, but the rash bothered me, so I went to the doctor for that. Sometimes, it itched and was sore, but other than that it didn't bother me. It was just ugly and a nuisance, and could not be cleared up with all the creams prescribed by my doctor and dermatologist for the dermatitis on my eyes just prior to this outbreak. They seemed a little concerned but did not warn me it could be cancerous.

Now, I suspect not many women out there know a lesion or rash on the nipple or aureole can be breast cancer. (Mine started out as a single red pimple on the aureole. One of the biggest problems with Paget's disease of the nipple is that the symptoms appear to be harmless. It is frequently thought to be a skin inflammation or infection, leading to unfortunate delays in detection and care.)

What are the symptoms?

1. A persistent redness, oozing, and crusting of your nipple causing it to itch and burn (As I stated, mine did not itch or burn much, and had no oozing I was aware of, but it did have a crust along the outer edge on one side.)

2. A sore on your nipple that will not heal. (Mine was on the aureole area with a whitish thick looking area in centre of nipple).

3... Usually only one nipple is effected. How is it diagnosed? Your doctor will do a physical exam and should suggest having a mammogram of both breasts, done immediately. Even though the redness, oozing and crusting closely resemble dermatitis (inflammation of the skin), your doctor should suspect cancer if the sore is only on one breast. Your doctor should order a biopsy of your sore to confirm what is going on.

This message should be taken seriously and passed on to as many of your relatives and friends as possible; it could save someone's life.

My breast cancer has spread and metastasized to my bones after receiving mega doses of chemotherapy, 28 treatments of radiation and taking Tamoxafen. If this had been diagnosed as breast cancer in the beginning, perhaps it would not have spread...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the warning tubby! Just shows you can never be too careful.
Hope your feeling a bit better today!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

We can Never be too careful, but at the same time we can't be afraid to live our lives either. Great info Tubby, thanks!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Alright, where did everyone go? I was talking on a thread earlier and have no idea which one it was...

Kind of quiet all over tonight.
